ITunes :: Delete Apps And IBooks?

May 19, 2012

How can I delete Apps and iBooks from iTunes so that do not constantly re-sync with iPad or iPhone even though I specifically un-check them NOT to sync?  I have to go thru this every time!  I don't even want them any longer on iTunes (or iPad) but I can't find a way to remove them from iTunes! Apple used to be so easy and intuitive but now so much is hidden/fixed).

MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.7.4), 4GB SDRAM; 500GB HD

Way To Permanently Delete Unwanted Apps From ITunes

Apr 3, 2012

I've downloaded 100 Apps since getting my iPhone.Of which, only 70 I've enabled to be sync'd to my iPhone. If updates are available for the other 30, iTunes downloads them even though I am not sync'ing them to my iPhone. Is there a way to permanently delete these unwanted Apps from my iTunes so that I am not spending time getting updates to Apps I am no longer intersted in?

I fully understand the separate iBooks app in Mavericks. The problem I have is that my iTunes library still shows books available when I go to sync my iPad. The books are NOT in the iBooks app library, yet they still appear as available for syncing (See below). How do I remove them permanently?? ITunes :: Transfer New Apps From Iphone Without Replacing Apps Don't Want?

May 10, 2012

When you sync your iPhone you sometimes get the following message:

Itunes has found purchased items on the iphone thats arenot present in your itunes library.

There are two reasons for this:

1. I have deleted apps in iTunes that I don't want, but not on the iPhone. I don't want to transfer the apps back to iTunes because I want them gone.

2. I have bought apps on the iPhone that I do want to keep. I want these transferred to iTunes.

So if I have both types 1 and 2 then there is no good answer. Preferably iTunes should offer to sync and choose which apps to transfer and what not to transfer. Is there a way to change this behaviour? By the time I sync I don't know what I've done so I'm usually not sure how to answer the question. Sometimes I like to bulk delete apps in iTunes--it is easier than doing it on the iPhone.

And, to uninstall something, is all you do is right-click and "send to trash"? Will that delete any and all files associated with that app?
