Mac Pro :: DVI Port For Connect Cintiq On Pro Tower?
Apr 5, 2012
I will buy soon a mac pro 8-core 2,44Ghz and I wanted to know if there was a dvi port on the tower because I must connect a Cintiq Wacom 21ux on it. If there isn't a dvi port, is there another solution to connect it?
mid 2011 imac, no vga, no dvi. have a mini to vga and a mini to dvi, but they are both too big. is there some sort of "vga-or-dvi to thunderbolt connector" that neither me nor the guys at the best buy are just not understanding? think i have one of these (which says it does it) bought a month or so ago and an older dvi version i bought maybe three years back for a macbook.but are maybe four times too large for the little thunderport:[URL]
I recently purchased a cintiq 21ux, when I connected it to my macbook pro 15'' (with the usb cord it has)it only works as a giant drawing tablet with no monitor display.
I just bought my cintiq 12wx and was wondering if i can connect it to my macbook pro 2011 through the thurderbolt using a mini display-port to vga adapter?
I need some help/suggestions as to why my G5 tower won't connect to a wireless network. I recently moved into a guest house with free wireless internet. My landlord gave me the password to tap in, and it works great on my netbook, which is what I am using to post this entry. It also works with my iPod Touch. However, my G5 times out every time I try. It recognizes the network and when I type in the password, it tries to join it and after a few moments it says "connection timed out"
Why is this happening? I'm up to date on software/hardware updates. I've even tried shutting down my netbook to see if that was the reason it wasn't connecting, but nope. Still doesn't connect.I like my netbook and internet browsing is speedy on it but I need my desktop for most of my work and internet productivity.
Basically I want to connect my Win7 PC tower to my 27" iMac. After doing some research, is it true that only the ATI 4890 and ATI 5970 are the only video cards that have worked in the past? The newer 5870 Eyefinity 6 just got released and seems to be a bit cheaper than the 5970, seems to be untested still. Has anyone got this to work with the cheaper ATI cards with displayport? I don't want to spend more than $600 for this new venture.
I've had the 13" aluminum macbook since October 2008 and I've never had a problem with the wireless or an Ethernet connection. I turned on my computer the other day and I couldn't connect to the internet through my ethernet port. I've determined it's not my connection (friend's macbook connects fine) and I've tried connecting to other ports around my campus and it still doesnt work. On network settings, the light is green, cable detected, assigned an ip address and dns but it simply times out when I try to connect to anything (firefox, itunes store, mail, etc.). I'm fairly new to mac os x.
I've connected this camera hundreds of times in the past. But now it says"A USB is attached that is drawing too much current. The hub to which it is attached will be deactivated."

Is there a way that I connect a firewire to my MacBook which doesn't have a Firewire port? I need to connect an External HD (not via USB) to my MacBook but just now realised that I don't have a port!

I am trying to discover what I would need by which to connect my iMac 20" to a 42" HDTV with HDMI port. So far I have not found anything in the manual that tell what is needed, that all just state it can be done.

I'm on a very small college campus where they graciously block every port except for web and a few other app ports (iChat video doesn't work, SMTP ports are blocked, and of course bit torrent doesn't work). I can usually get connected to the tracker, but no peers ever connect. Now for those who may chastise me for using bit torrent, I'm downloading a video my friend made in the US, so there is no legal aspect to this.
Could somebody point me to the type of cable I would need to connect a Mac Mini to a standard DVI port? The Mini comes with the necessary adapter, correct?
I've had a D-Link DI-604 4-port LAN 1-port WAN ethernet router since 2003 which has allowed all of the wired computers in the house access to the internet (I have broadband via a cable modem). I recently introduced an AirPort Express router which I connected to one of the LAN ports on the D-Link and I now have wireless internet access on my MBP with no problems. However I plan to also purchase an AirPort Extreme router to make use of its AirDisk feature and improve wifi reception in the house. From a security perspective, I am wondering if it would be more secure to connect the WAN port on the Extreme to one of the LAN ports on the D-Link, thus in theory being protected by 2 different hardware firewalls? Or does this not make any difference, in which case I should simply replace the D-Link with the AirPort Extreme?
I want to watch videos on my television. My only option is composite video and audio, I can not use component, s-video, or anything else. Is there any cable i can use to connect my macbook's Mini DisplayPort to my tv's composite video port. I do not need 1080p cinematic video with 85 channel surround sound or anything, I just need ok video and understandable audio.
I have an application (JBoss) running on port 8080 of my Mac OSX 10.5.2. My firewall is set completely open. Nevertheless, when I try to connect from another machine's browser or try to telnet to my Mac (telenet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 8080), the connection is refused. e.g. my IE browser running on a PC in the network simply says "The page cannot be displayed", when I try to surf at my application http://<my.mac.ip>:8080/mazda. Is it possible that port 8080 is simply not open on my Mac?
I have the most recent Macbook Pro, and I want to connect it to my projector. The projector has an S-Video port. The new Macbook Pros don't have a mini-DVI port, so I can't use a Micro-DVI to S-Video adapter.
i want to buy a cable on ebay that will connect out of my port on my powerbook g4, i think its a dvi outpout. and i want to plug it into a hdmi input on my projector.
there are different kinds, supposedly, of dvi cables.

I have a Mac Mini w/windows 7 32 bit installed VIA bootcamp. Is anyone running [URL] this VIA windows on a Mac? I tried mini DVI to VGA, but my tv won't pick up the windows side at all and I can't get 1080p on the Mac side.
I am able to see my server shares when I connect my bacbook pro via cable, but when i connect via wifi the network shares are not visible. a windows laptop connecting over the same wifi router can see the server shares. Does OS x 10.6 use a different port that I need to open on my wireless router?
I am connecting a Canon 5D to my laptop trying to use it as a webcam trough camtwist. At the same time I need to output the streaming to a videoprojector. The cam is connected to the mini display port do there is no port available for the VGA cable anymore.Do I need to use a different port for the projector? Should I buy a video card? Can't connect the camera via USB as that is too slow and it will freeze.

I have the need to connect an external monitor and a firewire cable to my Macbook Air, but with only one Thunderbolt port I am trying to determine if this is possible. Is there such an adapter that would take my single Thunderbolt port and 'split' it into two?
I'm looking for a 1 TB external hard drive to connect to a firewire 400 port to use to backup my iMac. So far, the better drives, 7200 rpm, seem only to have usb 3 connectivity or are expensive. Is there an adapter or cable to connect a usb 3 input device to a firewire 400 port?
Why am I suddenly getting an error message : The server returned the error: The connection to the server “p02-imap.mail.me.com” on port 993 timed out.? I add/edit SMTP servers. Am receiving emails, but can't send from imap acct.
