Mac OS X Lion Server :: WikiServer Gives 503 Error After Updating Ruby And Rails
Apr 16, 2012
Wiki services is broken after I updated Ruby and Rails in order to install a log reading dashboard. Now when I start wiki services (via command line), I get Error Reading Settings, and a 503 error when I try to access the wiki via the web. We have content in the wiki, so I'm hesitant to just blow it away.
INFO: `gem install -y` is now default and will be removed INFO: use --ignore-dependencies to install only the gems you list Building native extensions. This could take a while...
I'm not sure - but for some reason I am no longer able to login to my wikiserver via Safari. I can with firefox, chrome, IE, etc but not in Safari. Username doesn't matter. (either total admin or just a user).
I am currently facing the error : ruby: No such file or directory, when trying to run ruby scripts. when i type "which ruby" t returns: /usr/bin/ruby Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I've googled around for about an hour and have found nothing.
I am trying to update the software on my macbook pro however everytime I attempt to do this I receive a message unable to connect to server. Although I have a working network.
Frequently when I work and update a lots of addresses in my address book the application hangs and I have to delete everything under /user/user/Library/ApplicationSupport/AddressBook and synchronize it again with ICloud to get it working again.
I am using: IMac with Lion 10.7.4 Address Book 6.1.2 (1090) with 15.300 contacts synced with icloud 4 GB RAM 500 GB disc with 374 GB free
We are currently running a 10.7.4 Server with 10.7.4 clients. The problem is with the calendar system's sharing funtion. Some users will consistently receive an error message "403" Stating that the user does not have permission to edit the item when they edit an item or change an existing event to another user's shared calendar. After some troublshooting I found that if I made the claendar in question the default calendar in iCal, I was able to create vents without problem. I have tried removing the problemed users from that calendar's list of shared users, and changing permissions back and forth from Read to Read/Write without any success. There are no iCloud or MobileMe accounts on any of the client machines, a pertinent negative as searching for a resolution to this issue yeilds many similar problems related to those services.
Summary:Creating or editing an event in a shared calendar within iCal (while not the host of sdaid calendar) results in a error code 403. However, when the user in question changes their default calendar to the shared calendar, there is no issue creating new events. The issue is only persistant with a few users. Other users have no issue manipulting existing records in the same shared calendar.
Configuration: OS X Lion Server (10.7.4) iCal service is configured properly Clients are all running 10.7.4
i am currently using snow leopard, and I am waiting for this summer to update to mountain lion. Right now, I need the a new feature of imovie for my project, so I am thinking about buying Life 11 at this moment. However, I just want to make sure that, will updating my OS X includes updating my imovie, iphoto and everything? If yes, then I probably dont need to buy Life 11 to update my imovie now/
We have installed a very new Mac mini 2011 with OS X Lion Server and we added four users there. This four users should share their calendars with each other so the system is designed as a CalDAV- and CardDAV-server. We have set up all necessary nameserver entries, installed all updates.
On our Lion workstations (Mac pro) we connected iCal with our new Lion Server, works like a charm, but only for two days.
Since yesterday we get 403 errors on MOVE (only). Means one creates a new entry at the calendar and try to "move" this entry to another users calendar. Immediately after storing we get "Server reports error" and "Answer: 403 in action CalDAVMoveEntityQueueableOperation" (translated from german). At the servers logfile we found only one entry per move which says:
We have checked all other logfiles and are unable to find any hint for this error.Yes the sharings are set well and we can reproduce this error. As an act of desperation we deleted all calendar entries, deleted users, restarted the server, re-created the users and calendars - same thing as before.
I am working on getting profile manger working on 10.7.3. After turning profile manger I can get to a logon screen but after I logon I get this error in my browser. I am guessing the issue is with apache routing but I don't know.
i tried this afternoon to connect two Mac OX Lion Clients ( macbook pro ) to our existing Mac MIni Server Opendirectory.
In both caes i got the error message:
Die Verbindung zum Verzeichnisserver konnte nicht hergestellt werden. – 2100
The Lion server is running and our other two clients can use network accounts without any problem. The certificate at serverside is self signed and all machines are running Lion and are updated to current relaese level.
Info: Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.7.3), Macbook Pro Open Directory SSL
After updating to Lion server, I moved my Drobo over and setup Time Machine
Many users are prompeted to reuse or create a new backup.
The problem is I log in with credentials of 'USER A', and on the dialog it lists another 'USER B', userb.sparsebundle as the file to reuse.
I recently had a iMac hard drive die, and i tired to use the time machine on the server, with 'USER A' credentials, i got 4 listings and none of them were 'USER A'
I check the drobo and 'USER A''s sparsebundle is there. I have tried changeing permissions to read the sparsebudle, but the bundle is a 250k file, not a diskimage of the files even.
How do i resolve this problem of the wrong users coming up on "reuse or create new backup"?
How do i access the lost sparsebundle that i cannot log into to get the files for the user that needs them?
When we set "user" based preferences in WGM they are not rolled out to the users (setting "computer", or "computer group" preferences works as expected). For example, if I set iCal as a login item for a specific user, then the user logs out and back in, iCal does not start as a login item. The preference *is* set on the server however because if the user unpairs their account from the server, then logs out, then logs in and re-pairs with the server, the preference is rolled out accordingly. What could be the reason for this? Why aren't user preferences being updated at every login? Is there a way I can force user preferences to be updated at login?
I'm trying to use the app store to do the update on Final Cut Pro. We have a slow connection at home so I leave it downloading overnight, but when I get up in the morning it says theirs an error in the pkg. Is there anyway I can download the update directly (e.g. on my faster work connection) and then take that file home to do the update?
I have updated 2 iMacs and 1 Macbook to 10.5.5 recently and all three of them have started giving this Time Machine error occasionally (every few days). The Macbook and 1 iMac are backing up to an AEBS disk, but the other iMac has a direct attached USB disk (both are WD MyBooks). I have never had a Time Machine error on any of these machines before. The most recent error from the iMac with the attached drives is:
1/13/09 11:20:37 AM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd792 Error: (-43) SrcErr:NO Copying /Users/dwhitti/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/#SharedObjects/2MDSQCJD/a.ooyala.com to /Volumes/Danny's TimeMachine/Backups.backupdb/dwhittingtonmac/2009-01-13-112032.inProgress/ACD16566-3746-4929-B9C9-0AE4DB0CCBE7/Macintosh HD/Users/dwhitti/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/#SharedObjects/2MDSQCJD
I get this message "The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “______” can’t be found." every time I try and connect. I've never had this problem before updating. I'm currently running the latest firmware for my server, and have restarted both the server and my iMac.

over my Entourage outgoing mail can no longer update Exchange server 2003.
Entourage 12.2.0 was working fine on my OSX 10.6.2. I believe after upgraded Entourage to version 12.2.3, all my outgoing mail were not updated to exchanges server.
All mail reaches it intended recipients and a copy keep in local folder. other function like calender and contact are able to sync with exchange without problem.
To work with a software packet, I need to uprade Ruby to version 1.9.3. The current Ruby version is 1.8.7. What are the steps for upgrading Ruby to 1.9.3 If the upgrade runs into problems, how can I got back to "last known good state"?
I have a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 Mac book Pro, I changed the hard disk once, and now when I tried to update it, it always says "An unexpected error occurred" And the only button for me is the "Restart button" (Remember, I always have my Wifi on). Is it because of the hard disk changing or because of something else?
in Mail when trying to send a message: The server returned the error: The connection to the server “mail.comcast.net” on port 995 failed (error 1: Operation not permitted)

I have a server in our DMZ that connects to Active Directory LDAP server (non-ssl over 389) but no objects actually show up in the directory editor. I get a green light in my Network Account Server, but queries against LDAP return no results. My end goal is to be able to dictate to Profile Manager what LDAP groups are allowed to enroll devices. I tested on our internal network on a test server and get the same results. Anyone have any luck connecting a Lion Server to LDAP and actually being able to view and utilize users and groups?
I have 10.5.8 and I'd like to upgrade to 10.6.8 to play Diablo 3. It seems like I first have to buy and install 10.6 and then need to buy and install 10.7 to upgrade to the latest OS. That seems strange. Do I really need to buy each version? There isn't just one pack I can get?
When I am using Safari and on yahoo and trying to use Fantasy Sports I get Internal server error when I click on my team. I have reset safari and tried firefox but the same thing occurs. On my other computer it works just fine.
