My address line has disappeared. I have no place to type in a website address. I also lost the "Bookmark" logo so can't save a site/page that I am on?

I looked up today and noticed that my bluetooth logo had a jagged line through it. I clicked on it and it says bluetooth not available, then I went to system preferences and, now there is no bluetooth icon to click on. I opened spotlight and found bluetooth, but then I got an error saying that no bluetooth hardware was detected. I have the MBP in my sig. Also see attached screenshot. Anyone ever encountered this? My MBP is still under warranty for 3-4 more months. Should I just take it to an Apple store?

A Java install occurred recently while I was using Safari. After the install completed, I noticed that the installation instructions specified all browsers be closed before installation took place. Can I "reinstall" this software from the command line with the browser closed?

I use the "F" or "del" shortcut - and it comes up in the description, but I can't see the colour line in the browser.Â

Soo...I just picked up a mini to run plex and use as a media center. Hooking it up to my projector via VGA cable. When I set the display settings to the native resolution on the projector there is a small black line or bar down the left hand side of the screen. Not on the right but only on the left. why this would be happening?

While composing or forwarding a message, in the TO or CC field, you could open your address book, and scroll through it, adding names to the TO line with a single click. This feature seems to have disappeared in LIon --- is that correct? I wish Apple would realize that a Mac is a different beast from an iPhone or iPad --- trying to make the UIs similar is ok, I guess, but not if it involves removal of function from the Mac.
<sermon>
I have been an Apple fan for decades, but now the incessant DRM, increasing distrust of its customers, and general dumbing down of the Mac has become too much. I waited a long time before transitioning from SL to Lion --- I should have waited longer --- Lion's minor improvements are more than offset by the endless new stupidities

I have a 2nd gen Mac Mini that when booting chimes and goto the Apple logo with the circle below it. I tried once, let it go for about 10minutes before holding in the power button and trying again. It's been at this point for about 30minutes.

The computer said that several apps stopped responding and had to quit after falling asleep watching a movie in VLC, which had error logs that had frozen on the screen as well saying, "Computer too slow?" from dropped frames apparently. Not normal. Also, yesterday, when waking it up from the display shutting down, the whole screen was gray and smeared looking. There was nothing recognizable at all on the screen, and I hit the power button quickly for it to sleep, and back again and it worked fine for the rest of the day. Its a 1.66 Core Duo Mac mini w/ 2gb of RAM.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy intel mini (2008, I think) won't boot. I ran Disk Utility and then Disk Warrior from my Macbook Pro, then I tried single-user mode. Everything came back "OK" but it still won't boot. It gets to the Apple logo with the spinning gear, spins 1-2 times, then freezes. It just sits, frozen, until I hold the power button and force it to turn off.

I've got a Mac Mini at home, but I'm at work now and just have a quick question. I've noticed on the Apple marketing blurb that the Mini audio output will do Line Out as well as headphones. Do you have to switch the output over in Audio/MIDI setup or something?

View 4 Replies View RelatedDouble poll here. There are two questions:
How much DATA do you have Oo-line?
This is data and not total capacity. This includes all your on-line data: music, images, video, the OS, all of it. It doesn't include back-up data even if it's on-line like Time Machine tho. Just active data.
And of the on-line storage devices used for that DATA totally, what % are they filled to?
For example if you had two 500 GB drives and about 400 GB of data you would answer:
"I have < 500 GB of DATA on-line." and,"My on-line storage is between 25% and 50% full.".
i'm having some issues recording in garage band which should hopefully be easy to clear up. i record an instrumental track into garage band through the line-in jack in the back. the track shows up in garage band just fine and plays, but i'm running into trouble recording while that track is playing. i plug my headphones in so i can try to hear the track while i am recording vocals, but i am unable to hear the track. i checked the inputs/outputs in system preferences and output is set to headphones, microphone is set to line in. so i'm not too sure what it could be.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAs many of you know, Apple's MAC OS X User Interface utilizes small fonts. For example, look at the top-most bar of your screen--the menu bar. Even the Apple icon is tiny. Next is the Bookmark toolbar. Its fonts are almost indistinguishable to those of us who are sight-impaired. A poster with the username i joel posted back in 2007 peading with Apple on behalf of sight- and movement-impaired patients/clients to just make the Finder bar larger and increase the font size so that his people could see the screen content better. Apple had a golden opportunity then to address this issue and champion the needs of disabled users worldwide.
