The little pop up yellow box is appearing when we mouse over this random spot on our mac-mini, and it shows random headlines with no relation to anything open, even when there isn't any programs running.

2010 Mac Mini, 10.7.3, dual DVI displays. - Several times a day, it shows a yellow checkerboard pattern in some windows. So far, it's appeared in Chrome, Entourage and Excel 2008. The problem occurred both before an after we upgraded the RAM. These checks appear sometimes when scrolling, sometimes while waiting for a web page to load. They go away generally with the same actions... clicking, scrolling, etc.

I have a 24 inch imac and i am connecting the viewsonic VG921m (19'') monitor using the mini-dvi port. The external monitor appears dull (whites have a yellow tint) Is there a way to match up the display to look like mac? I am using the monitor next to my iMac and its currently distracting as its displaying same colors in different tone.

I have had this macbook pro now for about 3-4 months and last week it started showing weird yellow/white stripes on places where it should be completely white. It comes and goes from time to time and it seems to be effected by the hardware itself, since when I move my screen it comes and goes. But when I make a screenshot of an opened window, like iCal, with lots of white space, it does not show the yellow-like stripes. I tried adjusting the contrast at universal access but it didn't work.

Now the TV is old so the only connection type I can do is either scart or the 'phono' type red white and yellow pins that you have (yellow for video and other two for stereo sound). Is there any type of adaptor available? And if so (because I think there is). How will I know that my mac mini DVT can output to those for a video source? Do I need to know about graphics cards details or anything? Or will anything support it?

View 6 Replies View RelatedAlu 24" 2.4ghz when they first came out with aluminum, got it at the store. since august 07 My imac had a small yellow tint, i noticed, when i got it and it was not worth anyhting screaming about, i also noticed it had bleeding issues ath the bottom and sides. I wanted to return it or trade but i was convinced out of it.
Now i noticed that from left to right their is a prominent yellow tint streaking it's way across and fading around the half way point.It is irritating and sad to see this display on this mac was ok, at first but it is geting slightly worse.I have apple care, can i trade this/replace it at an applestore, or would they need to fix it?

Basically my hard drive randomly decided not to mount. It is a 60gb USB external hard drive. I have used a different mac, a PC and both didn't mount the hard drive. On windows it can not recognize the driver to mount but on mac nothing! I even tried external power, different USB leads and a new one. Still nothing. I think it may have become corrupt.

From what I was reading it was giving other post-audio pro's a **** of a boost in performance for obvious reasons.Been pretty good the last couple of weeks, but today, during a large session, it started choking.I opened up the Activity Monitor and, aside from obviously needing more RAM, my CPU was going pretty hard. An odd thing I noticed though: In both the CPU tab, and the Dock "Show CPU Usage" only CPU/Bar shows up. On my previous Mini (a 2.66 Core 2 Duo) 2 CPUs/Bars are present. This seems very strange to me that a Quad core shows up as 1, but am I wrong in my assumption? It seems to get VERY taxed vs. my old system, and given the fact that they have the same amount of RAM this seems very wrong to me.

my HD fried so I just installed a new 250GB HD about 20mins ago. It's not showing up on the disk utility. It shows one for 4.8GB but not the 250GB? bad connection? I'll try to reconnect it again. It's a Seagate, same brand as I took out of my 1.66 intel Mac mini.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new Mac Mini and instead of the arrow cursor showing up, that annoying rainbow ball thing is there to take its place .I am becoming so annoyed. My old Mac (which was an OS X) did the same thing, but after leaving it alone the rainbow beachball went away.
The only thing that I just recently downloaded was adobe flash player! The rainbow ball only comes up when I've spent a good half hour on the computer. But after it shows up, it never goes away. And since I just bought the Mac mini I dont know how to shut it down properly, so I just press the power button that is located on the back of the Mini, after I do that the little light in the front fades and comes back again and then fades. Is shuting the Mini down like that making the little rainbow ball appear?And just yesterday my friend (Who is not good with computers) Did something that made the window that I was on big. The window covered the whole screen and just froze there. So I just pressed the ESC button and everything went back to normal. Then after that the rainbow ball showed up.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a mid-late 2008 MacBook connected to a Dell U2211H monitor using a Mini DisplayPort -> VGA connection.
When I use 1920x1080, I only get 60 Hz and the display is a fuzzy (text). Also, there are black bars. Why?
Will my issues be solved using a Mini DisplayPort -> DVI connection? Or should I exchange it for the 2209?
I just plugged headphones into the headphone port on my iMac(dual core 2.4) I went to system preferences, sound, then output and only the internal speakers show up. I rebooted the machine and still, same thing.
I tried the same headphones on the eMac sitting next to it, and it worked just fine. Still confused about the iMac

System Pref>>Users>>Log In Items>>Highlighted one of the hard drives that I have start up and right clicked>>reveal in finder. This is what it looks like now.

The count is zero. However they all show up fine in folders in iOS and on gmail.com.There is an indicator for one new message in the inbox, but none show.

Why I would I use one over the other, the Red X to close a window or the Yellow - to minimize a window? With both functions the program is still running the background, so I don't get the differences other than with using the Red X the application won't be on the dock. Why is one used more over the other, when they basically do the same thing?

User says it has been gradually getting worse since the Summer. Has a very heavy yellow overtone on any window in the foreground, and some blue etching in the background. I did a search and found plenty of info re: the LCD iMac, but found nothing about this in the eMac? I ran the colorSync utility, and no dice.
