View 2 RepliesI need a 6ft DVI to HDMI cable to connect my mini to my TV. Unfortunately these are out of stock at monoprice. Can you suggest any other reputable alternate site where these cables can be bought for a reasonable price?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI feel like I've read every thread on every forum, and they all cover the same issues. I've spent FAR too many hours trying to hook this up and I'm asking for your help. I have the mini dvi to hdmi adapter, with the hdmi going into the tv. I only have one hdmi input on my TV so I know it's turned to the right input. I've tried mirroring, I've tried switching hdmi cables, and even bought another adapter. I had the picture up yesterday just clicking on settings but it was when the screen wasn't mirrored, and it was treating it as another display. Now I can't even get that to work. I've tried every resolution. I plug it in, and detect the monitor, and it brings up two windows. One is "color lcd" and the other is "TSB-H66S".

I have two questions:
1. Is it possible to use two external displays either mirrored or not and turn off the retina display, and if so how it is done?
2. Is it possible to close the MBP and use an external keyboard while using two external displays?
I am using a music production DAW Persons Studio One-2 Pro and it would be great to be able to have this type of a setup.

I bought a MBA 13" last month and now I'm trying to connect an external monitor through a Mini Display Port-to-HDMI adapter and most of the times the display shows a message "No signal detected"...
I've tried all the possible combinations between the MAC and the Monitor but it would seem a random matter.

if i buy the mini display port to dvi adapter, could i use it with a dvi to hdmi cable for my monitor. This is because the dvi and vga ports are already taken up.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an Early 2009 Mac Mini with Mini DVI and Mini DisplayPort. And I have two 1080p HDTVs. The Mac Mini is capable of dual display, and I've gotten it to work before, so the issue is not the TV or Mac. And I have tried both Mirroring and No Mirroring.
I got a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter (#5311) and a Mini-DVI to HDMI Adapter (#4852) both from MonoPrice. And for some reason I can't get the Mac Mini to dual display, it's only one or the other.
Before I had a Mini Displayport Male and USB Male AUDIO to HDMI Female Converting Adapter (#5969) and I got video on both HDTVs, but not audio at the same time b/c one was USB and one was TOSLINK.
I'm not sure why I can't get video on both monitors. Any help?

1. Can I connect an external HD to both my AEBS (via usb) and my Mac Mini via FW800?
2. If I can't do the below - lets say I connect my external HD to my Mac Mini via FW800 - with the drive be accessible on the network if my Mac Mini is sleeping?
I'm just trying to figure out what is the most efficient/produce the best speed - way to connect an external HD to my network.

Can the Mini do this? And if so, what's the best way to get the signal from the Mini to the two TV's? (They have HDMI inputs.)
Just upgraded my Late 2009 Mini to 4gb of RAM and its running a lot better. Therefore I have the left over 2gb ram which I am selling on eBay. Check out the Link if you guys are interested..

I'm looking to connect the Mini to my HDMI TV. I've heard of getting an adapter but im not sure which one to get. I've also heard of no audio output in these adapters too. I have a late 2009 Mini but the miniDVI port is being used so the miniDisplayPort is available. Can anyone post a link to a adapter that will work and is under $20.
I have just purchased a new Mac Mini (MC816B/A), it is to replace an old PC. The PC is running two monitors through a dual display graphics card, and in the short term I'd like to use these until I can afford Apple displays.Â
The back of the Mini has an HDMI port, Firewire and a Thunderbolt port. How can I use my two regular displays (they are TFT and have VGA and DVI connections)? There are also 4 x USB ports as well.Â
I've mini connected to 2 dell 24" LCD displays thru Y splitter (DVI to DVI/VGA). 1st display connects with DVI and the second with VGA.
Vista (bootcamp) can see both displays and it can extend the desktop to the 2nd display.
Since windows on bootcamp can use 2 monitors and OSX can't I would assume that this functionality has been disabled by apple in OSX or display driver. I know that the windows VGA driver provided by apple (bootcamp) has the dual display disabled.
Here is the question:
Where would i have to look in OSX to enable 2nd display?
I have a VGA connection to my monitor from my Macbook currently cause I had a mini-dvi to vga adapter conveniently. But I heard DVI will be better, so I was looking to get another adapter. Should get a Mini-DVI to DVI or Mini-DVI to HDMI? Would that produce the same picture cause they are both digital? I don't plan on connecting to any other diplays or tv's but would one be more versatile than the other? Oh, and I saw that Apple doesn't make a HDMI adapter, is there a reason why not? I saw it on eBay so it made me curious. I've searched this topic, but I didn't see a thread that answered my questions.
View 2 Replies View Relatedso I love Macs but they're frustrating the hell out of me. I wanted to run dual 20" displays (portrait) and one 30" displays using a Mac Mini and a Macbook Pro. I know the new Mini should do it, but I've heard bad things about Apple's Dual Link DVI adapter. Also, I don't think there's a way for a Macbook Pro to drive a 30" Display and a 20." Am I missing something? What should I do?I'd much rather buy a Mac Mini than the Mac Pro which is way too powerful.

View 22 Replies View Related2010 Mac Mini, 10.7.3, dual DVI displays. - Several times a day, it shows a yellow checkerboard pattern in some windows. So far, it's appeared in Chrome, Entourage and Excel 2008. The problem occurred both before an after we upgraded the RAM. These checks appear sometimes when scrolling, sometimes while waiting for a web page to load. They go away generally with the same actions... clicking, scrolling, etc. Â
