How do I delete old email addresses from Mac Mail that are no longer in the address book? I have deleted peoples old addresses from the address book application, yet when I start typing their name in the "to" line, all these old addresses still show up and get in the way of going right to their latest and current email address.

View 7 Replies View RelatedA friend used my Mac a month ago and his email address often comes up in my FROM: email field. I am the default but I must hit it every once in a while and his email address is selected. When my recipient gets my message it's says it's from HIM. How can I delete his name so it isn't a choice in the FROM: email field? I looked in Mail preferences and his email address is NOT listen next to mine under Preferences>Accounts.
Please not this isn't happening in the TO: field. For that I'd just choose WINDOW>Previous Recipients>Delete.
I've been experiencing an issue with Mail app. Some of my contacts have changed their email addresses and I've made the appropriate changes in my Address Book. The problem I have is when I am typing in their name in Mail, it shows the old email address as an option.

View 10 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, I am not able to have my autofill activate when I try to type in addresses, etc. I am using the older version of Yahoo for my email and Safari 3.2.1 as my browser. The other browsers are Flock, Firefox and Netscape seem to work fine. I have tried upgrading to the new AT&T/Yahoo email, which seems to work, but I do not like the format that email client uses.
I don't see an option to sync my MSN email account with my other devices.

I have one draft message that refuses to be deleted. When I highlight it and hit delete, it just turns grey and does not delete. I can add new drafts and delete them just fine. any ideas? I have tried clearing the user cache to no avail.

I delete all of my Sent, Deleted emails when I quit mail. I did a search within Spotlight with my one friends that I email a lot, put his name in, and up popped 162 emails that I had sent to him since March 2008. How can these emails be deleted so they don't show up in Spotlight? Should I uncheck the boxes that say Store, messages on the server? Regardless, this would not cause the emails to show up/not show up within Spotlight on my Mac, would it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently decided to install and run Thunderbird as my new email client. I would occasionally go back to Mail to view earlier emails. This could be a bit of a nuisance though since Mail insisted on updating itself and downloading all the mail that had arrived for my account since I last opened the application. I thought the way to stop this so I could search my old Inbox in peace was to delete my account details. I didn't realise this would also delete the Inbox. Does anyone know whether/if/how I can recover this old mail. Simply reentering my old account details was not enough to 'restore' the old Inbox.

I am an educator and my school system "upgraded" their Exchange Server and subsequently put Outlook on my computer. I configured Mail to pop over from Outlook, but now, I can't delete an email sent to my school email account without opening up Outlook and deleting it....it just keeps reappearing in my inbox. The problem is not the same on my iPhone or iPad, just on my MacBook Pro. So, I go for several days while the emails pile up, then open up Outlook and delete them one by one when I can't stand it anymore. Also, when Outlook is open, my computer runs at about 1/2 speed...everything slows and bogs down. Can I just delete Outlook from my computer?

I have never set up Time Machine on my Macbook Pro.I have several Mailbox's or Folders inside my email system or Mac Mail.I wanted to clear some of the less used folders out and so I exported them to another folder on my desktop.Then I deleted the folders or Mailbox's from inside the Email system or Mac Mail.When I went to the folder on the desktop to see the exported emails, there was nothing you could read, it was all jibberish or crazy characters. View 2 Replies View RelatedEver since I updated to 5, my address bar has been autofilling the title of the page I go to, for instance: Say I have been to Zappos and looked at a pair of converse, the title at the top of the window will say something like "Converse shoe etc." Well then say I've looked on [URL] at something before, and I want to go there again. If I start typing "converse" into the address bar, it wants to autfill the "Converse shoe etc." title and take me to the Zappos page instead of [URL] Is there a way to disable this? I liked it the way it was before, If im typing something in the address bar I only want ti to guess urls, not page titles.
