View 2 RepliesWhy does Safari open with the last page viewed from the previous session rather than my homepage? The only way I can get Safari to open to my homepage when starting a new session is to be sure to close all windows from the previous session before quitting Safari. If I don't go through this process, Safari opens to the last site I accessed before quitting.

Though I'm really used at being a Mac user... to be honest, I don't think I've ever tried to burn multi session a CD or a DVD.
Now, I really need to do it, but the DVD in question won't be full after the first recording...
how can one use 'DIsk Utility' to burn a multi session CD or DVD with personal documents?
I've found many tutorials over the internet, but they cover old version of OSX. I presume that with OS X Lion things might be different?
I have MACmini v2 with 3 GB RAM and Lion OS.I tryed connect to MACmini from Windows PC via VNC.Connect is successful, but...I must enter password of user. I do not know password - this is Active Directory user. Can i connect to active session without users password?

Starting a few days ago when I double click a folder on the desktop it no longer opens. Instead, I am taken to a new desktop window that shows the folder clicked plus all other items on the desktop. How do I restore the double click to open the folder? I have tried resetting the double click speed with no results.

We see the login prompt interface of Lion, but can't even move mouse cursor.Keyboard's inactive too because system is frozen. So you must force a shutdown. And it's a loop-freezes. You'll try several times to boot your laptop before it will succeed to open. (it's a 5-times boot to succeed - average) I've tried several times: P-Ram reset, repair the permissions of Macintosh HD with latest Lion recovery & from an external boot too.None of this has solved this issue. I'm sure I'm not the only one who saw that issue. Have to boot 5 or 10 times his Macbook Pro to succeed a boot is not a normal use

I am using Word for Mac on my Macbook Pro with Lion. Everytime I open a particular document in Word, the view shows Markups, which is really distracting. I can go to View, and get rid of the markup view, but then it shows up again each time I open the document.
Also, each time I open Word, every document I have worked on in the last few months opens, too. I close each document individually, using File - Close, which I thought would take care of it. But it doesn't, and all these documents open, instead of just the one document I want open.

Most annoying. If I have several documents, i.e., Word, Excel, Freeway on my desktop and select one by double clicking to open it, Lion will open all the other similar documents as well. Is it the way I'm clicking in Lion or is there a way in Preferences to somehow stop this.

Whenever I open a file in 'Preview' (any kind of .PDF, .jpeg, etc.) it opens with 2 or 3 windows; the file that I just opened, and also the last 2 or 3 files that I looked at. Why is it doing this? I've looked through the Preview preferences and I can't find anything that sounds like this. How do I turn this off?

I recently downloaded a .dmg file to install a program on my mac. I am running the latest version of Lion. The dmg file mounted, and when I clicked on it, it opened the finder box with two icons, one to click to install and one for uninstalling. The Install one also was missing the logo that showed on my other computer. I clicked on the install logo and the Terminal window opened, and nothing else happened.

Each time I send an email, the email sent closes and then the "Message Viewer" window closes as well.Does anyone have any suggestions on a solve for this? I tried Preferences and there doesn't seem to be an option to control this Also, when first opening the Mail app the default window opens without the side panel showing Mailboxes, Reminders .mac mailboxes etc.. I see there is a button in the top left menu bar that says "show", this will open the side column- great- but once again is there any way to control this occurance?

I don't know when started to happen, but when I open a window of Finder, and click in the left sidebar to see what is in Desktop, it didn't show in the right panel, it open a Terminal window. If I click Applications, or Music, it works good, but not with Desktop.I already installed Lion again 3 times, but when restoring from Time Machine, it starts to doing that.
View 11 Replies View RelatedThis happens when I'm using something other than email or Word, for example, Excel or the internet. When I want to go back to my email, I will click on the email icon on the dock, but instead of popping up my email, one of my open Word docs will appear. Then I click on the email icon again, and the right thing comes up.
I've run software update and I'm not sure what else to do. It's making me nuts. Sometimes, I might be using Safari and have just taken a screen snap or copied a link and I want to flip over to my email to send it to someone or whatever, and it shows me a paper I'm writing for school or something instead. It's dumb but annoying.

I'm finally getting used to the extra steps required to save a doc in Preview now (but I hate it). What I'm noticing now is that when I open a document in Preview, it also opens the last doc I viewed at the same time..If I wanted to see the old doc I would've double clicked it.I use Preview all the time. There is no Preference to disable this strange behavoir.

I tried to open a single image in Preview (Version 6.0.1 (765.4)). Instead, it opened just over 500 images (out of 2300 on the hard drive) as "Untitled 1" "Untitled 2" etc. Over three hundred of those were grouped in a single window (that is, one of them was visible large, with thumbnails of all in the "drawer"). Why it opened the files as "Untitled", nor, in fact, why it opened them at all. I had only clicked on one to open it. I quit Preview, but upon reopening, all the "Untitled" images were back. The same thing happened when opening Preview after restart. The only way I could get rid of them was to close their windows one at a time. Of course, when closing something that's unsaved, the computer asks whether to save it or not, but I cannot click Command-D (as in previous systems), I have to click the Don't Save button each and every time. This takes ages with so many windows open.
Well, since I had no choice, I did that for the couple hundred images that had opened in their own window(s). Then I tried to close the images in the single window. I would do Command-W, then click Don't Save. The dialog closed, but the image didn't go away. Then a new Save dialog box would open with a different "untitled" number specified, and I would do it again. And again. And again. The images, however, did not disappear. Then I saw that the names (Untitled 101, Untitled 204, etc) of some of the images I had previously attempted to close were coming back again. They had not actually closed. I could not get rid of that window with three hundred images open in it. If I quit Preview, then reopened it, ALL of the 500 plus images opened again, even the ones I had successfully closed. The application is now useless until I find a fix.
This is what I have so far: tell application "Google Chrome" view source of active tab of window 1 -- Or whichever tab you want delay 3 repeat while loading of active tab of window 1 delay 3 end repeat select all of active tab of window 1 -- Must always be the active tab copy selection of active tab of window 1 delay 3 -- delete tab (active tab index of window 1) of window 1end tell-delay 1tell application "TextMate-1.5.9" activate open paste end tell paste is not working.

I recently updated to Lion. So far the only thing that really annoys me is that every time I open Safari it opens to the last page(s) I visited. I want it to open to a blank page. For the life of me - I cannot figure out how to get it to do this.
