Intel Mac :: Unlock The Apple Computer?

So recently my sisters and my mother bought this used computer called a "IMac's IMac" . It cost $700 . This computer is great the only problem is ... There's a LOCK on the administrator's account . And we need the password so we can download "adobe flash player 11" without adobe there's no watching videos , playing online games , or even me editing photos for my photography class.

I bought my imac online, I have completed everything to try to unlock it. I held down the options button and now I am looking at a big lock. Tried to reset back to factory settings but can't, tried for it reset the password and still nothing. I do know that the computer is out of warranty and I after I paid all this money for the computer I can't use it. I don't have transportation to take it in

this has happened a few times in recent weeks. I lock the screen on my MBP (mid 2009) and go do something for a few minutes. When I come back, the computer won't come back on. I have to hold down the power button for ~10 seconds and shut the computer down hard and then power it back on. What the heck is going on here?

My IMAC keeps prompting me to restart after the screen turns grey. Essentially, after a few hours of use, the screen turns dark grey, filling in from the top to the bottom slowly. Once the screen has the dark grey hue, directions pop up in the middle of the screen for me to restart the computer. Once I restart it, the computer automatically generates an error box to report to apple. However, when I click the box to submit to apple, even if when the computer is connected and running well, it will not allow me to report it.

I cant seem to find a straight answer anywhere, some say this others that. I have 2 iphones 1 pad 1 apple tv 1imac all under 1 account. would like to get a second imac and want to know if I can keep everything under the same account. Do the phones pads and pods count towards your 5 count?

I lock the network preferences panel in the System Preferences, and the 10.7.4 Lion OS unlocks them when the computer restarts or when it is shut down and turned back on. I want to keep them locked. Is there a way to stop Lion from changing your preferences without asking?

I have somehow lost all my iTunes. When I go to play something - I get the grey exclamation mark comes up. In trying to restore from Timw Machine, I find my iTunes is now unlocked. I have gone through the process of unlocking every file I can find and changing all the permissions to read and write. However it is still locked.Â
a) how to unlock iTunes using a defferent technique to that which I have tried.Â
b) tell me EXACTLY (step by step - because I am a mac newbie!) how I restore from my Time machine preferably. I do have my full collection (about 15 000 pieces) on my ipod if I need that - but I am terrified of loosing everything?

I bought my first IMac last month. I changed my access password yesterday and now I can use my computer. It does not like the password I am typing. It asks me to get a Recovery Key. I have contacted Apple support and they told me to do a Recovery using the Command key and R at the beginning of the session. I have done that and it brings me back to the unlock my system with a password. How do I get a recovery key to unlock my system?

In my User & Groups, it shows that a System Administrator with standard access is the current user for my iMac.A "System Administrator" is using an iCloud password to log in and unlock the screen. I cannot delete the user, nor change their password.I am running OS X Yosemite 10.10.1I purchased the iMac from a school closing auction.I know little of apple computers - be gentle.
I want to remove the "System Administrator" who recently appeared (within the last few days).How do I make my computer more secure? (I changed my iTunes password already.)

My family all uses one Apple ID based on my husbands email address for all our purchases and it works fine in our family. Over the years as we updated computers however, about one third of our songs became deauthorized on the computer, and no longer play. When I check these songs in itunes it asks me to authorize them using an Apple ID based on an old email of mine. I don't remember ever having another apple ID, but you never know, I may have screwed something up along the way. How can I check out this apple ID? Can I just authorize the computer for this apple ID without losing/deleting/messing up our main normal apple ID? I am happy for all the music to be in one big music account - none of my question pertains to having separate accounts or IDs for family members.I simply want to know if these two apple IDs can exist harmoniously together on one computer without messing things up.Â

I have Mail 4.5 working with a POP account on my desktop, and I want this same account to appear on my MacBook.However when I enter the same account details on the MacBook an IMAP account is created instead of the POP account.A different account window appears, which does not seem to allow message headers to to be viewed and deleted from the server before downloading.How can I get Mail to perform identically on both computers?

The last two Apple software updates seemed to have screwed up my computer. After downloading and installing the last one (which included an update to iTunes), I could not turn on iTunes - it just made my computer freeze up.I could not shut it down the regular way.So I pressed the power button for 5 seconds, which turned the computer off finally. Then let it sit for 30 seconds. And when I went to turn it on - the computer got to the gray screen and just hung there.I finally had to press the power button for 5 seconds to shut it down so I could hook up my external hard drives and boot from there.Tried to see if I could boot from the internal HD it froze again. Tried to run Disk Utility, which recongized the hard drive under the name I gave it and it was mounted. After running Disk Utility, the internal drive is no longer showing up on my desktop. It does show up in Disk Utility and in Drive Genius but will not mount.I should also mention that my keyboard and trackpad stopped working after the last update.I have been using an auxiliary keyboard and trackball for years, and have no problem with them now.

I wanted to reformat my computer to "factory setting" and inserted the usb that came along with the mba i bought. Clicked install and restarted and followed instruction.
When the installation was done and computer rebooted, i didn't see any changes at all. Everything was exactly the same.
Anyone knows what's wrong?

When i start the computer and the grey screen comes up with the apple logo etc., a grey "loading" bar has started appearing in the bottom of the screen. Takes a few minutes for it to go away. In the meantime the computer gets very hot and the fans are up to 6000 rpm. Then the os starts up, and I cannot download anything, due to the fact that it thinks my harddrive is full, though i have more than 100 gb of free space.I cant even download the 10.6.2 now due to the harddrive appears to be full

I cannot be 100% sure but it seems like my problem started when I installed Apple TV and started home sharing. When my Mac goes to sleep and I start it up the internet is disconnected. I check in the settings and the network shows a signal and connected. I do not get emails and I cannot connect to the internet though. I have to restart my computer then everything is back on. I cannot stand quitting all my work to restart my computer so many times a day.
