MacBook Pro :: Computer Has Been Sent To Apple Password Is Not Working?
Apr 6, 2012
after my computer had been broken I sent it to apple, but somehow I can not login and I am using a guestuser right now. I am pretty sure that I am using writing in the right password but it does not let me in. How can I login again?

Is the password for the computer itself (the one required when you want to, for example, install software updates) different from your Apple I.D. password? What happens if you've forgotten the computer-specific password - can it be re-set?

The messages app on my Mac would work great with iMessages and SMS working, then today I had to update my apple id for security reasons and since then the messages app doesn't send sms anymore. Ive tried signing out and back in with the new password, restarting my computer, and even a few things in the settings of my iPhone 6+ and nothing seems to work. Some of my contacts that I can not message are tagged in red when they where not before I updated my apple id password

My computer keeps stalling and rotating beachball won't allow me to move forwards or backwards. Ultimately I need to turn off the power. I have tried resetting the PRAM and SMC but neither seems to help for too long.

I just bought a new macbook pro and used my time machine disk. All went fine until a message appeared that a device was incorrectly ejected. I clicked the message away and the transfer seemed to continue althpugh it suddenly needed twice the time as before the message. At a certain stage it asked for my apple password (as used o my old machine which i was tranferring to the new one) but Now it doesnt accept my apple password anymore so i am stuck!! I am sure the password is correct. This thing is extra cruel as i had to buy the new one abroad after i was robbed at the airport. Luckily i always travel with my harddisk with backups from time machine but despit this i cant use my new macbook pro because of the above trouble.

I created a mess by changing my user password. OS X 10.9.3. Forgot the new password. When I went to log on, It said I could use my Apple ID to change it again, but I would lose the passwords on my keychain. Which would have been fine. Except now I can't do anything at all on the laptop, getting pop up after pop up saying "a keychain cannot be found to store...". And other pop ups. I'm completely jammed up.

I have forgotten my mac pro user password and can't seem to follow instructions for changing it.Make sure your computer is connected to the Internet. In the login window, click the question mark in the password field, and then click the arrow in the dialog that appears.Enter an Apple ID and password, and then click Reset Password. When I try to do this the arrow doesnt take me anywhere. I just return to the original field asking me for the password I don't remember.
