I want to convert some video files (specifically swf in this case) to audio files so I can listen on my iPod. I looked everywhere and can't find some free software that does that. There are tons that have trial periods with lots of limitations (like it won't convert anything larger than a 5k size file) so I don't want those because I won't know if the thing works well unless I pay for it. I'm not opposed to paying for a converter IF I know it works awesome on a Mac.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a few .AVI files that I want to play on my Macbook. But when I play them with Quicktime, it shows me a black screen and plays with only audio. No video. And yes I have installed Perian but that's not fixing this problem either. I tried using VLC but that didn't even show me a black screen. I could only listen to the audio.

View 5 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to extract audio from video files? I can't seem to do it from within the Handbrake GUI - is there a command line way of doing it? Otherwise, what's a program that can do it? Obviously I could use Audio Hijack, but I'd rather not have the quality loss that comes with re-encoding.

My iMac (Intel) is having serious problems playing saved video files, especially from the Elgato EyeTV hybrid (file extension .eyetv). Everything played fine for about 1.5 years, then suddenly the iMac just started pinwheeling intermittently and stopping the video every few seconds. It was like watching Youtube on dial-up. I tried closing programs, stopping Time Machine, restarting, reinstalling EyeTV... but nothing fixed it, it only got worse and actually started freezing the whole machine and causing incredibly slow and scary restarts with lots of blue screens. At this point I actually re-formatted the whole darn computer and the files played OK for maybe a day or two, then just started pinwheeling the .eyetv files again, although movies on my hard drive play ok now as far as I know. Youtube and other streaming has always been fine. Watching live-feed TV on the EyeTV has never been a problem either. Why can't I watch my recorded files?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI really need some help on this one and you all have always been so responsive. I have a canon HD camcorder vixia HFR20. i am on a imac, Lion, 10.7.3, 266 GHZ Intel Core Duo, i have downloaded grandsons football videos to Mac, edited them and stored them on a WD External Hard Drive. After trying to burn grainyless DVD's ( and believe me i tried numerous times and it just would not work), i thought i would go ahead and transfer the videos to my PC and then burn the DVDs. I did a test on on my PC with a little bit of footage i filmed yesterday and it was crystal clear. So, how do i transfer or copy the videos from my External HD or even copy them back to my Mac and then transfer them to my PC. Now please keep in mind, it has to be simple or at least somewhat simple i don't want to lose them or mess them up. I have read about migrating, or hooking up PC and Mac and partioning, and all kinds of stuff that i cannot make sense of,

I just bought this iMac in January and I've already had issues with Lion. First it was facetime.... now, I inserted a dvd-r that I already burned which has video files on them. The good thing, at least Lion recognizes that a cd/dvd is in the drive, the bad thing is that the dvd is already burned yet it keeps saying that I inserted a blank disc... which I did not.

I downloaded a wmv video and the video is coming through just fine, however, I have no sound. I followed the exact directions posted by "satcomer", where I changed my audio output to 44100.0.Hz but still no sound (my default was actually already set at 44100.0.Hz).
