Having problem when using a memory stick to transfer AVI files from PC to Mac, audio becomes out of sync with video when transferred, is there a better option/solution? [The files are out of sync at transfer from PC to stick]

I know that VLC is supposed to sync audio/video on the fly and it usually works fine. But is it actually possible to sync the audio with the video when there is an actual fault of the sync in the original, for example, avi-file??
View 11 Replies View RelatedI want to convert some video files (specifically swf in this case) to audio files so I can listen on my iPod. I looked everywhere and can't find some free software that does that. There are tons that have trial periods with lots of limitations (like it won't convert anything larger than a 5k size file) so I don't want those because I won't know if the thing works well unless I pay for it. I'm not opposed to paying for a converter IF I know it works awesome on a Mac.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having this issue with imovie 09 where when I export the movie project, the audio and video is out of sync starting at this specific area. What's odd though is that it plays fine while I'm editing in imovie but when the movie is exported, the file is messed up. I tried exporting using Quicktime and exporting the movie normally. I also tried replacing the clip where the problem with the audio started but it's still the same. I'm really upset because I spent hours editing this project but.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSometimes I will notice the audio is out of sync on my iTunes store bought videos. Rebooting the computer helps until the next time. This really started to become a problem over the last few months. This is a 15" MBP, 2009 bought in March, 4GB ram. Storage is on a 1TB WD drive in a LaCie 2 big tripple enclosure with firewire. No extra software installed and the computer is only used for iTunes and internet. Has all updates.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI never noticed this on my last hp laptop but my new dell almost everything in itunes plays with the audio out of sync with the video. most noticeable on podcasts. my dell is not high end but it has duel core amd 64 4400 chips 2 gigs of ram. running xp. it has a built in nvidia geforce 6150l video card with a built in sound card. it has done this since I got it a month ago. it is not an issue playing dvd's in windows media player. just itunes. any clues?

I have a canon HD camcorder vixia HFR20. i am on a imac, Lion, 10.7.3, 266 GHZ Intel Core Duo, i have downloaded grandsons football videos to Mac, edited them and stored them on a WD External Hard Drive. After trying to burn grainyless DVD's ( and believe me i tried numerous times and it just would not work), i thought i would go ahead and transfer the videos to my PC and then burn the DVDs. I did a test on on my PC with a little bit of footage i filmed yesterday and it was crystal clear. So, how do i transfer or copy the videos from my External HD or even copy them back to my Mac and then transfer them to my PC. Now please keep in mind, it has to be simple or at least somewhat simple i don't want to lose them or mess them up. I have read about migrating, or hooking up PC and Mac and partioning, and all kinds of stuff that i cannot make sense of,

I have a few .AVI files that I want to play on my Macbook. But when I play them with Quicktime, it shows me a black screen and plays with only audio. No video. And yes I have installed Perian but that's not fixing this problem either. I tried using VLC but that didn't even show me a black screen. I could only listen to the audio.

burning movies on my mac using Burn application.The file is in AVI... however when it converts to mpg...the file then changes into .iso (which should be as a dmg)... and i see the folder containing the video as .Before i used to burn movies onto DVD discs... it would simply convert from AVI into MPG and then that was it...the file completed successfully... but now i get the .VOB extension... and a separate Audio and Video folder

It is is step 4 of 6 in the syncing process.
However, none of the apps that I watch it "transfer" are actually new. For example, I've had the Facebook app for almost a year. But every time I sync my phone, iTunes "transfers" the Facebook app (among others).
How do I get this to stop? Does it have something to do with the fact that apps are updated? Does that make iTunes think they are new?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Lacie external hard disk that was originally formatted for PCs. I have some files there, but more importantly, my iTunes library is saved directly on the Lacie (I have everything on apple lossless, so they are some big files). I will keep using this PC while connected to the Lacie hard disk to syncro my iPod.
The problem is that I bought a mac now and I wanted the Lacie hard disk to be able to transfer files from mac to pc and vice versa. I have already read that I would have to copy the files that are on the Lacie, reformat the Lacie and then paste the files back. My only doubt is that if I do this reformatting, will I have any problems using the iTunes library while connected to my pc and iPod?
I just ask that because every time I changed any iTunes library folder on the computer, the iTunes would say that the music file couldn�t be found and ask me if I wanted to look for the file. I didn�t want to reformat the Lacie to later find out that I would have to �look for� every single music file, because that would be nearly impossible. I don�t know if I was able to make my question really clear�
I'm banging my head against the wall with this problem. I have a new MBP 13", 4GB Ram, etc etc. When I transfer files across my network (or the office network), it will consistently fail to transfer a few of the files. For instance, I just tried to copy 50 photos to an SMB share on our server here at the office. The transfer window show the progress of 50 files, but when I look at the folder, there are only 48 files. Sometimes I get less, sometimes I get all 50. The same goes for my home network to an SMB share. I've confirmed this failure over N and G networks. The AP at home and the office are different models and I went as far as purchasing a new one for home since I thought it was the problem. Same results. Is there some hardware error going on here with my wifi card? Is there any way to test it? Are the SMB shares the problem?

I have a couple of TV show episodes on my iPod and the Audio is out of sync. Sometimes by a 5 seconds then sometimes by 1. The audio is out of sync everywhere not just on my iPod. So if I watch it on my computer, iTunes, iPod it's allways out of sync. So my question is, is their a way to fix the audio without ruining the quality of the video.
