OS X :: Internet Connection Lost Every Few Minutes

a few days ago I noticed that my Late 2009 Macbook seemed to lose its internet connection every few minutes just for a couple of seconds only to reconnect. I have no idea why this problem suddenly started occurring, I had not not modified any hardware or software. Strangely enough, this happens whether I use Wifi (at work) or Mobile Broadband via USB ( at home) so I don't think it can be blamed on the internet connection. Stranger still, I should probably not be talking of losing my internet connection but of not being able to access the internet: While again being in a few seconds of slump, I checked my Mobile Broadband Manager and it was not disconnected, upstream traffic was occurring! Just the downstream was at zero. I run windows with bootcamp on the same Mac and there the internet works without trouble. I have all the newest updates installed.

MacBook Pro :: Wireless Connection Lost After Sleeps For More Than 15 Minutes?
I have a brand new macbookpro 3.06Ghz 17" hi-res screen running OS-X 10.6.3 and the wireless connection keeps dropping after the computer is either turned off or sleeping for more than 15 minutes. My router is a linksys wireless G, has dd-wrt software in it which is very powerful. When I release or renew the DHCP at the router, the mackbook connects to the wireless network, no problem. What configuration can be done at the macbook as to not have it time-out airport wireless connections unless I renew/release DHCP at the router? This is an annoyance beyond the limits of anyone's patience

IMac Intel :: Internet Connection Drops Every Few Minutes?
I have an imac about a month old, connect to uverse router through airport. All was fine until about a week ago and now the internet connection drops every few minutes. I have to go through network diagnostics and login all over to get it to work. I think this might be a software problem after a recent update. Cant seem to find a solution. For now I've turned airport off and connected the ethernet straight and seems to work fine. Its disheartening. I just put my PC away and switched to apple and was thinking of getting a macbook as well...

OS X Tiger :: Network / Internet Connection Drops After Few Minutes
Symptoms: Network/internet connection just goes away.
When: After about 5-30 minutes that the computer is on (maybe longer sometimes).
Activity: Anything to nothing. Sometimes it's been idle for hours and it just doesn't connect.
Recovery: Reboot works every time. Any amount of fiddling with the network connections fails. Looking at the system preferences shows the connection is still valid. If I change locations, nothing happens. If I try to ping my router, time-out.

I'm thinking it has to be related to an update some time ago as I don't have much 3rd party stuff in the mix. Running straight LAN connection to Linksys using static IP. Yes I know the Linksys and my cable modem are fine as the other 3 computers that I have experience no interruptions.

Intel Mac :: Keeps Losing Internet Connection Every 5 Minutes Or So?
Why does my Mac keep losing internet connection every 5 minutes - I end up having to turn wifi OFF and ON again each time.

As all other devices in the house connect seamlessly to the wireless router, the problem is only with my MAC desktop.

MacBook Pro :: Wireless Connection - Safari Cannot Connect To Internet For 5 - 10 Minutes
I bought my 13 inch macbook pro 1 week ago and I've had wireless connection problems from day 2 (I think after the updates). Problems include: Safari cannot connect to the internet for 5~10 minutes after I turn it on, whether it be from sleep mode or completely off or restart (the fastest connection I got after turning it on was about 40 seconds) Loading takes ridiculously long and eventually Safari cannot find the server Airport signal (on the top right hand corner) is always full when it is not working Sometimes internet works but it is ridiculously slow

However, when the wireless connection stabilizes, Airport Signal is 2~3 bars full and internet works SOOO well and I love it so much when it does. But the problem is that it stabilizes like 30 minutes to never after I turn it on and it makes me so mad I want to explode this piece of crap in the microwave. So I've called apple support, and they made me try four things:

1. Reset modem, router, and computer
2. Delete caches, reset Safari
3. Putting Airport first on the Service Order and resetting DHCP Lease
4. Connecting with Ethernet Cable then resetting the computer..............

OS X Leopard :: One Laptop Lost Connection To Internet
I have a LAN setup were we use airport to connect to a cable modem then to satellite connection. This is working great, I have 2 desktops and 2 laptops all were working great. Then one laptop lost connection to the internet, others are still working fine. I assumed the airport in the laptop went bad, but I could still connect to the laptop with the other laptop fine, but it couldn't connect to other computers. So to bypass the airport connection I hooked the laptop directly to the modem with ethernet. I ran Disk Utility and all I can think of with no luck.

OS X Leopard :: Lost Internet Connection After Using Migration Assistant
I have a G5 tower (wired Ethernet to router), a MacBook wirelessly connected, and got a new MBP 15" last week which instantly found my network and worked flawlessly. The free iPod touch also connects to the router and Internet fine. Last night I got around to buying a firewire cable and ran Migration Assistant from the MBP to the MacBook in Target Disk mode. It seems to have broken more than it fixed. It created a new user which has my files (docs & pics), but neither the old nor the new user's Internet TCP/IP and DNS Server, etc. and they are the same.

Yet the MacBook (I'm using it now) works fine. I chatted with Earthlink to get their DNS numbers which I entered directly but still no go. What else does Migration Assistant do? I have restarted the cable modem and the router several times in the process. I also reinstalled the OS but not an Erase & Install b/c I don't want to reinstall all the regular Mac apps plus Office for Mac and iWork which I ordered pre-installed. I can, but if there is a simpler fix I'd rather do that. I will try Apple support if nothing comes up from here.

IMac Intel :: Suddenly Lost Internet Connection?
Purchased new iMAC a month ago. Internet connection worked fine until this week when I suddenly lost my connection. Network diagnostics say everything is working fine. When I connect to internet it works fine for 15 minutes then turns off. I also get a message saying "do you want to stay connected?" The iMAC connects to the modem by cable. IMac Intel :: Internet Connection Lost After Sleep - Ethernet
I have just started using a new router (a Linksys). My problem is that after the iMac comes out of sleep I cannot get an internet connection using ethernet. It is not the router, a PC connected at the same time does not lose its connection and the internet light on the router stays lit. When I lose the connection I cannot access the router's web page @ The admin login box appears but with a name that relates to a previous router I used. I assume that this is part of the problem.

IMac Intel :: Internet Connection Lost After Wake Up From Sleep
I purchased my 27" iMac (the $1699 one) in April. I notice that once in a while the internet connection is no longer active. Webpages won't open, saying I am not connected to the internet. It shouldn't be a problem with the router since my PC and XBOX can all connect wirelessly even when my iMac has trouble. I have discovered a "solution" - I put the computer to sleep (Option-Fn-Eject) and wake it right back up, and usually the connection is re-established.

I have spoken to Apple tech, internet provider tech, and Valet tech. Everyone blames the other. Apple finally says it could be a hardware issure and to replace the computer but its not there issue because I bought the computer through B&H Photo.

OS X Leopard :: Security Update 2010 - 001 Lost Wired Internet Connection
have read a thread re 'lost wireless' connection recently, but thought it may yield different responses to begin a new post. After installing SU 2010-001, from 10.5.6 to 10.5.8, my Mac no longer 'sees' the ethernet cable, therefore no internet. System Preferences/Network Status = 'the cable is unplugged' The router, Netgear DG834v2, shows all green for the ethernet connection for my 2 computers, (this one that works is my trusty PowerBook G3.) I am using DCHP with assigned DNS. I have repaired permissions. Can't see anything weird in Keychain, no wireless so no password. I also have the 'ACL found but not expected on 'Applications/Utilities', 'Applications', and 'Library'. Is Leopard particularly buggy? My Mac has not been very smooth running through this incarnation of the Mac OS.

OS X Leopard :: Game Losing Connection After 10 Minutes

It's weird because it always happens 10+ minutes into the game. All the ports needed in my mac firewall/router firewall are open. I looked at the firewall log and noticed that every time I'm disconnected the same message is posted in the firewall log. But I have no idea what it means: Jan 27 01:27:13 david-cs-imac Firewall49: cupsd is listening from fe80::1:631 uid = 0 proto=6 The "cupsd is listening" is always posted whenever I lose the connection.

Now on my one imac, i got it to connect to the internet fine and what not, but now every, say 30mins, the connection drops or something. it will stop loading websites BUT it does not tell me anything about the wifi losing its connection. Full bars will still be there, but I can't surf the net again until I turn off airport and turn it back on. I have tried both WPA+PSK + WPA2+PSK with TKIP+AES and WPA2-PSK with AES. After a few minutes of use, the wireless connection dies, the bar on the toolbar drop to nothing, only when turn the airport off and then back on - the connection resumes, with full bars, so I assume I don't have a range problem. All my windows pcs (yuck again), works fine all the time, regardless of location - and I have this issues with both of my Macs, so I figure it's a MAC vs. Linksys issue.

MacBook Pro :: AirPort Connection Dropping Every Few Minutes
Firstly I would like to say I am new to the world of Apple and Macbooks, and have just bought my first Macbook Pro. Please be patient with me as still finding my way around! My Macbook works absolutely fine apart from one issue. The airport connection keeps dropping. All other laptops in the household work fine and hold connection, and have never had any problems.

I have a Netgear DG834GT wireless router which is pretty new and no problems with it as yet. On startup the macbook connects most of the time, and then drops connection after a couple of minutes. After less than one week - I am tearing my hair out here, the macbooks are not cheap, and feel disheartened already by such poor WiFi service.

MacBook :: Internet Stops Working A Few Minutes?
I have a macbook that is about 2 years old, maybe a little less, and recently it's been giving me trouble. Every time I go online (on firefox or safari), the internet stops working after about 20 minutes. It used to be about every hour but it's more frequent now. To fix it I have to restart. Once I restarted and the internet didn't even work. It's getting to be immensely frustrating since I have to save everything else I'm working on, restart, and then reopen everything. I don't know much about computers but I'm using a wireless that's shared with one other mac and one other pc in the house. Any ideas of what I should do?

OS X :: Internet Connection Keeps Dropping Connection?
I know there are a lot of similar threads all around different forums, but nothing really helped and I was hoping some of you smart ladies/guys can help solve this issue once and for all.

Here's the deal:

My main desktop computer (Compaq windows XP computer) is set-up upstairs where the cable router and linksys wireless router are placed (which is right next to the desktop on the desk). My Macbook (running Tiger and is 3 years old) and iMac (running Leopard and is not even 1 year old yet) are set-up downstairs in my new office. This room is in the basement, however the room is almost directly above the main office where the wired desktop computer resides.

Prior to setting up my office downstairs, my sister lived with my family in the basement and had her windows Vista laptop set-up without any internet connection issues. Her internet never dropped on her laptop, and neither did the connection on her wireless all-in-one printer/scanner/copier. Cell phone reception/internet connection in the basement is also great.

When I set up my iMac and Macbook however a few weeks ago, the internet keeps dropping connection! I do not understand this when my sister had no problems at all with her laptop getting internet connection, when she was living with us. The internet connection will stay good for either 10-30 minutes and then drop, or it could be good for up to an hour and then drop.
