Jan 11, 2011Skype stops working after 20 minutes - the other person can hear me fine, but I cant understand a word the other person is saying (very digitalized). This doesn't happen on the PC so I'm wondering if it's an issue with the MAC. Does anyone have the same problem? Any ideas how to solve it?

Dec 17, 2009I have a macbook that is about 2 years old, maybe a little less, and recently it's been giving me trouble. Every time I go online (on firefox or safari), the internet stops working after about 20 minutes. It used to be about every hour but it's more frequent now. To fix it I have to restart. Once I restarted and the internet didn't even work. It's getting to be immensely frustrating since I have to save everything else I'm working on, restart, and then reopen everything. I don't know much about computers but I'm using a wireless that's shared with one other mac and one other pc in the house. Any ideas of what I should do?

Jun 10, 2012Got a Mac OS X Version 10.7.4 last week and first off it was fine the Internet connected perfectly and was the fastest connection I've seen. But this morning I came down and it connected for 5 minutes and then although it appeared to be working (The wifi bars were full) the internet wouldn't search for any sites. All the while my iPod and laptop still connected. I did a clean-up of the Mac but that didn't make a difference. It seems to be able to connect for that first 5 minutes every time I restart the computer, but you can't do anything in 5 minutes. I need to correct this, do you have any idea how?

Jul 7, 2009I just got a new MacBook and have been copying files via Ethernet from my pc. One thing I noticed is that whenever an Ethernet cable is plugged in nad hooked up to the router, the Internet stops working on both mac and pc. However, my torrent client on my pc continues downloading so it's not actually stopping, the browser is just failing to connect as is the official network status. Why is this?

May 9, 2012I use a 4G Galaxy Nexus to broadcast a private WPA2 network. The 4G signal is always strong, and I've verified that the internet is active on the broadcasting device, and that other non-Apple devices maintain a solid connection. However my macbook pro does not lose the network connection, the internet stops working only on the macbook pro and I must "turn Wifi Off" and back on using the top right menu icon in order for the internet connection to resume working on the laptop. It will stop working every 5-10 minutes.

OS X :: Command+tab Switching Stops Functioning / Shortcuts Stops Working
Nov 22, 2009On a day-to-day basis I run: Adobe PS, INDD, and AI, Microsoft Entourage, Firefox and iTunes. Just recently, after an upgrade to Leopard, I added Things and Simplify Media to the list.The problem that happens before (on Tiger) and now (on Leopard) is command+tab switching stops functioning and Expose hot corners and shortcuts stop working.
I'm pretty sure this isn't a Finder crash because before, on Tiger, I could quit+restart Firefox and everything would be back to normal. Almost as if some shortcut had causes the system to act differently or there was some app dissonance?
But now, with Leopard, nothing I quit will cause these two features to act properly until I do a restart. Both features (command+tab switching and expose) are very necessary for my work flow. I have checked SysPref to make sure keyboard shortcuts are default and Univeral Access to make sure assisted devices is turned off.

May 23, 2012i've been having some problems with my 27" iMac (2011). I was playing a game (Diablo 3), when suddenly there was a kernel panic, so I had restart my computer. I started the game again, and there was another panic. After that, every time I login everything works great for 5 minutes, then the screen goes black, and it just stays there, nothing happens. I've tried restarting the computer many times, but it just keeps crashing.

Oct 31, 2009I just change a old MBA 1.6 GHz (OSX 10.6.1) for MBA 2.13 GHz (also OSX 10.6.1) and haven problem with EyeTV (3.2.1 version) via Pinacle Hibrid Stick 330e. Soft start excellent - I can see video for few minutes (3,4-5) and than video stops - audio is going (but only for next 2-3 minutes). To see something I have to restart soft or unplug an plug stick to USB port (I do not use HUB, I only use extension of USB cable - MBA have not so much space to plug directly Pinacle Stick). I have to say that on old MBA everything works fine, same OSX version, same USB extension cable, etc.). I try to see if soft and stick works on another computer - I use MacBook Black version (last black configuration) and results: no problems. Video do not stops! I try to find solution on macs forums but I did not find anybody who have this problem.

Jul 26, 2009I'm yet to figure out a pattern, but my Macbook Pro's keyboard will just stop working for several minutes at a time at random points in time...Even if I hit caps or num lock, they don't turn green. Sometimes it'll just happen once every few hours, but I was in class the other day and it would work for a minute, then not work for a few, than work for another minute, etc.

This is annoying, however, and I'm wondering if it's a known issue that might be fixed.
I noticed that when you disable and re-enable the IR sensor, the last few remote button pushes you made while it was broken come through in a burst.
Intel Mac :: Constantly Losing WiFi Randomly While Working
Apr 19, 2012I am running an imac 24-inch Mid 2007 on 10.7.3. Always do the updates and everything seems ok. I have been having problems with connecting, reconnecting after sleep and just losing my connection in the middle of being on wifi. I have replaced my wireless router, I have deleted all previous wifi networks. I have also renewed my dhcp license. Nothing works. To reconnect, I have to continuously go to network preferences, assist me, diagnostics, then continue with the assist me and choose my network and it then reconnects. This is not just waking from sleep. Sometimes just randomly while working on the computer. I have read some things about equipment plugged in and I have an ATT micro cell plugged into 1 ethernet jack in my wireless router/modem, I also have a bluetooth mouse, a printer plugged in USB and a Lacie HD using Time machine.

May 28, 2012I have two different iMacs: late 2011 and Mid 2010. Both imacs wifi stop working after sleep mode. ***?! Ipod and iphones work properly at is time. I have checked disk utils and fixed permissions. Everything is updated. Maybe there is the way to reenable wifi module without rebooting my computers?
Im very dissapointed apple imacs. Lcd of mid 2010 being changing for the second time. Last time it worked ok for 5 month. ***?! Is it ok for lcd screen? Or maybe I should turn into hackintosh to avoid poor-quality hardware? Rofl. **** I have only apple devices and starting nervous about it.

Aug 27, 2014I've noticed recently my wifi seems to drop every 5-10 minutes.Â
I don't see any signs, no exclamation marks etc. I just find web pages take a long time to load, I go into the Network Preferences > Assist Me > Diagnostics and via that I see a yellow mark next to various areas (it changes but it's usually 2 or 3 of either the ISP, Wifi or Server). If I hit continue and go through the process on in the diagnostics section it re connects to my wifi and works again for the 10 minutes or so.Â
I don't find this happening on my other devices. Is there any way I can find out why it's dropping so often?Â

Dec 2, 2014I recently around 3-4 weeks ago update my Mac Book Pro to the new Yosemite software and everything was going fine until I got onto my internet! i was connected to my home wifi and everything was fine! Click into something and said I wasn't connected..! I looked up to see the wifi had disconnected! So i thought it was just a fault in my wifi modem, i manually clicked my wifi again it connected. It wasn't until after the 6th time it happened that i realised it wasn't my network and that it was my laptop! now everytime im watching a movie online or youtube its get disconnected and I have to continuously manually connect to my network! This happens every 2-3 minutes and had been frequent since I have updated! It's super annoying as it interfers with my regular web surfing and have looked for and tried so many things to fix it and nothing seems to work!

MacBook Air :: WiFi Works Only For Few Minutes For This Device
Jun 23, 2014I have created a wi-fi network with a time capsule which works fine for every device: 2 iPhones, one iPad, apple tv a 13’’ macbook pro.Whenever I use my macbook air the wi-fi works for a few minutes then the connection slows down and stops, and at the same time all of the other devices on the network hang up, the wi-fi connection appear to be on but nothing loads. As soon as i turn the wi-fi off on the air, the connection resume normally on the other devices... then the cycle repeats if i turn it back on...this is really frustrating!
Since the other devices don’t have any problems unless the macbook air is online, I’m assuming there’s something wrong with it but I don’t quite know what... interestingly if I use it on other wi-fi networks (like at work) it seems to be working just fine...I have OS X 10.9.3 installed. this is an 11'' macbook air, mid 2013 model, 1.7 GHz Intel Core i7 with 4 GB of memory.

PowerPC :: How To Fix Clasp When It Stops Working
Apr 3, 2006I've read another strand about the problems with the gaps when PowerBooks are closed, but does anybody know how to fix the clasp when it stops working? The hook still comes down and "hooks," but as soon as I let go of it, the top pops back open. It's been getting progressively worse over the past three weeks or so, but now it won't stay closed at all. It's not a big deal when I power the thing down, but I can't just close it and put it to sleep now. (Especially one's that don't break the bank!)
