How do I print highlighted text, and only highlighted text, from a web page?

This seems like it should be available in the screen that pops up when you print. What gives?

I'm fairly new to iMac, but with Windows XP, if you wanted to print only a paragraph or two from a webpage, you just highlighted it and hit 'print'.
So far with my 17" flat screen G4, when ever I do that I get the whole webpage no matter what. As a workaround I highlight the text in the webpage, copy it to the clipboard and then open 'text edit', copy it to there and then 'print'. This is Mac ! There must be a better way to do this.
While reading long PDF documents I highlight text as I go. To assist reviewing and summarising the article once finished, I copy each section of highlighted text and past them onto a word document.
I am aware of the bar at the side which allows you to view a list of annotations, and I have "selected all", but the option of copying is not available. I would to know if there is a possibility of me having all the highlighted text copied and available to be pasted on a word document in one hit?
The website where I pay bills online has a hot link that says "print" and when I click on it, the printout is in a teeny tiny font.Â
The document that I print after paying each bill is the confirmation of the payment transaction. But it's almost too small to be read without a magnifying glass.Â
I can't find where or how to increase the font size of the printout.  Firefox preferences doesn't include any sort of font size preference to choose from; and my printer application in Settings doesn't list font sizes to choose from or to set as my default size.   Â
PageSetup allows me to choose a paper size, but not a font size. Â

I have just switched from PC to Mac, and I am at a loss as to how to print just a high-lighted selection from a web page.
I found in the print menu a way to delete headers and footers, but what if I just want to print a section from the whole page? I'm used to being able to do this with my mac, and I'm sure Mac must do it, but I can't find it in the help index anywhere.
Ever since the last security update, I have been having trouble with the text in part of a web page becoming garbled. It happens when I am scrolling through a page. I can fix it by highlighting the text and it will go away. It remains legible after I take the highlighting away. It does not happen every time I scroll, but it does happen randomly throughout the day. I have owned my Macbook for almost a year and this problem has only come up since the last security update.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI often find myself searching for a piece of text that I wrote myself within a webpage. For example, when writing a long email in gmail, I want to look for a certain word I wrote somewhere in the middle. Firefox dynamically includes all the text that is present on the page (as opposed to just what's in the source of the page) and I'm wondering if there is a way to do that with Safari.

This is my first Mac and on my PC I would occasionally email myself a simple list consisting of what programs I have installed so that next time I format (or if something goes wrong) I would know what I had installed. Problem is, with this Mac I have too many quality software to type out by hand so I'm wondering if there is a program or a function built in to OS X (maybe terminal command even, but I'd prefer something visual) to list the contents of a folder and save it to a text file?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with my Canon Pixma 5200. For some reason it has stopped recognising text. It will print out the test print ok. I can print pictures but no text. I have used different applications, Pages, Word and pdf and although it sounds as though it is printing I end up with a blank sheet. I have a letterhead with my email address on it and having typed a long letter only the email address came out (this was in the same font as the letter but a smaller size).
View 2 Replies View RelatedMac screen resolution is getting higher and higher, which is nice, but the downside is that we seem to have lost "what you see is what you get." I have set the default document size of Text-Edit to about the size of an 8 1/2 x 11 document, which fits easily on the screen. I have what appears to be a single page of text. It all easily fits in the document window. The headline fits across the width of the page. But when I choose Print, the print preview shows that the text is going to spill out onto two sheets of paper.  I exit out of the print document and reduce the text size so that it all prints out on one sheet of paper. The problem is, the size of the text onscreen is now TINY! It looks like it's about 6 point while the printed text looks like it's about 12 point! No WYSIWYG!  When I revert the document to the way it was originally, where it was going to print out on two sheets of paper, and then hold my printed document up next to the screen, the printed size matches the onscreen size almost perfectly, even though, if printed out at this size, the text would spill out onto two pages and be huge. In other words, 18 point size text prints out at about 12 points and 12 pt text prints out at about 6pts, so there's about a 6pt difference in how text looks onscreen and how it prints out. Again, No WYSIWYG! My older Macs had much lower-resolution screens, but text printed out at about the same apparent size on screen. I know the original Macs had 72dpi screens so that they would closely match the printed size of text, and I like the fact that monitors keep getting better, but is there a way around this problem of printed text not matching the size of onscreen text?

I'd like to print photos and text simultaneously on 7x10 card stock from iPhoto and can't seem to find any way to do it save for designing the cards on line and then having to order and pay for them (or re-feeding the stock, which I'd like to avoid).
I do not have InDesign or Photoshop at home, and would prefer not to do this personal printing at work.
Is there a way that I can accomplish this?
We have OS Lion. When we click on the printer icon, All of the text is huge. If we go to file, print everything prints normally.

It first happened when I use the firefox address bar to google something. The web page didn't load and said "The connection was reset: The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.", Then I try it on Chrome to go to google.com. The web page didn't load and said "No Data received: Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data."Â Then I try it on Safari. Is there a way to increase the size of the displayed mail, as you are creating it? I have mine set to 12 point text, but it is still difficult to read. The e-mail when received is fine, it's the creating that's "tiny"?

I found my personal web page by going through utilities, but not sure how to get anything on it. I have created a file (website file in Lightroom 4) that I want to share via internet. How do I get it on my personal web site on my Mac and how do I share that file with other computer users. No one has answered the question yet at support. I am told I have to purchase a web hosting service but isn't there a way to share large files via internet with the Imac software installed on my computer? I don't want to purchase a domain!

I have recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and am now having problem with my hp 4500 office jet printer. The print icon tends to stay on the dock after the print job is done and then mess up the print queue. Even worse if I forget to cancel it manually then when I put the computer on 'sleep' the printer starts up again and the whole job is rerun unless I get to cancel it quickly on the printer! Â
It does not always do this (the print icon disappearing as it should do), but for 90% of the time it does.Â
I am not that new of a mac user, but one of the biggest things that Im having trouble with coming from windows is that in windows when you get a dialogue box it comes with a selected option, pressing enter would automatically activate the selected option. Now this is the same in OSX, but in windows you could press tab and the highlighted option would change. For example, in a save dont save box, how do I change the blue shadow without making a trip to the mouse?
