Jul 3, 2012I'm able to make DVDs from iPhoto or IMovie & I've mastered IDVD's Menus pretty well. The DVDs play ok in DVD players to that's a plus. Now, what I want to do is somehow put folders of photos .... mainly those I've used in the slideshows...... if possible, on the same DVD. The idea is I can gift a DVD with a video/slideshow & if the recipient wants the photos they can insert DVD disc into their own computer (not necessarily Apple) & download the photos.

Apr 19, 2009Okay, so I have a movie on my PC in AVI format. It plays fine, no problems. When I put it on my USB, then open it on my Macbook, it only plays about the first 20 seconds. It shows that as being the whole video. I have done this plenty of times before, and never had a problem.

My problem comes when trying to burn a certain video file formats to a DVD, one especially that will playback on a standard DVD player. The types of files I am interested in converting to DVD-playable are: .m2ts, .avi, .mp4, .mpeg, .mkv. Again, I would like to convert these movies, then burn them to a DVD to easily watch them on my home theater system's DVD player. So I beg the question, "Is this all possible?", "What file formats are commonly used to play from DVDs on a DVD player?" and "Are there any freeware based applications to get this job done?"

But, on the receiving hand, they are not able to open it because "it's not compatible" with their computer. Intel Mac :: Computer Just Freezes - Select What Drivers Want On Boot When Starting In Regular Mode?
Apr 19, 2012It's a 2.16 intel Core 2 duo with the ATI Radeon X1600 128MB video and I'm running OSX 10.7.3. It started happening on Snow leopard so I thought maybe upgrading to Lion would fix it but it has continued exactly the same. I've had an issue for a while now where the computer would just freeze all of a sudden. It happened after a few days at times while sometimes it happen right after a reboot.
Here are the things I've tried.
1. I upgraded to lion
2. I replaced the ram
3. Look at the crash log but found nothing
4. Ram mem check utility but it found nothing
I can boot the computer in safe mode by holding the shift key and it works perfect with no freezing but I loose audio support becuase I think it's not loading the audio drivers. Question is: Can I select what drivers I want on boot when starting in regular mode not safe mode in order to try to disable drivers until I find the issue? Is there anyplace else that I can find which driver caused the computer to freeze after a freeze/crash? If I can ID the driver is there a way to update/replace the driver if it doesn't come up in "software update"? I'm thinking it's the video driver becuase I would occationally get some weird things happening on the screen that I attributed to an older display.

OS X :: Files That Were Copied From Mac Are Not Playable?
Jun 18, 2009I have a strange problem that I cannot solve. I have a couple of avi DiVX movies that I created for my son to watch but I have done them on Mac and if I copy them to the external HDD directly from Mac, my Popcorn Hour NMT A-110 does not play them until I simply copy the file to a PC hard drive and then back to that HDD. This drive HDD is NTFS and write to the drive via Paragon NTFS driver. I am curious what happens during a file copy from that hard drive to a PC and back that somehow unlocks the file and makes it playable. Any ideas? Is it a paragon driver?

Jun 28, 2014I have a film that I need to burn to a DVD but seems like I'm having issues with it playing in numerous DVD players. It will play on friends' Mac computers but not on DVD players. I'm thinking it may be a codec issue, but I may be wrong.
I edited the film using Final Cut Pro X on my iMac 2012 model and I do not have an external rewritable disc drive. I exported the master file from Final Cut and copied the file to a flash drive, copied to my PC desktop, then proceeded to burn the file to a DVD-R using Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate on my PC.
Is there a better, absolute way to burn my film to a DVD to insure it WILL play on all DVD devices?

Oct 18, 2010Early on after I got this G4, I messed with the settings in iTunes some and the first time I burned a disk and tried to play it in my car, it would not play. I burned about 10 different disks using 10 different settings (although I don't remember the particulars now). Never could get any of them to play. I have iTunes 9 and I wonder if anyone can tell me if it's possible to go back to default settings, or change the settings so disks will play on any standard car CD player? I just don't have the knowledge to do.
