Yesterday we set up the computer at the Apple Store. When entering the Password for the computer, apparently we thought we were entering one thing when in fact we entered something else. Now I can't log into the computer to install new printer software, reset/change my password or anything else. I have tried looking through the Manual for the iMac 27-inch, Mid 2011 and can't find anything for resetting the password, finding it in the Keychain Access, etc. The computer is a waste if I can't reset the password to install the apps I need on it.

I decided to get a USB cable for the Canon MP650 I bought yesterday. I connected it, aligned the head and printed out a test page and it looks ok.
I used the disk that came with the printer and it said everything was installed successfully. Do I need a driver? That should be on the disk, right?
I'm using an iMac OS X v 10.5.8
I wanted to print a test photo, so I clicked on One-Click Photo Print and received an error message: The operation cannot be continued because a printer supporting Photo Print is not installed.
I clicked on System Preferences-Print & Fax, and there's nothing there. I clicked the + sign and in the window that opened, there's nothing listed there either. Why is installing a printer like operating the space shuttle?
my mouse has stopped working. How do I turn on mouse keys through my keyboard?

When I start my iMAC (OS X) there is a good chance that it WILL NOT pair with my Logitech M555b (Bluetooth) mouse. It IS set to be "discoverable." The Apple mouse's trackball was a constant problem; it had to be cleaned often. Changed to the M555b and now I'm being punished by the MAC gods for my infidelity.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo after upgrading to a mbp as my main machine, I retired my old imac to the bedroom for media center duty. I've got things close to how I want them with front row and plex doing most of the dirty work. For my planned use, no keyboard or mouse are needed. A combo of the apple remote and snatch on my itouch are doing quite well. The problem is, if I turn the machine off, it sees no mouse or keyboard over usb, and attempts to find them over bluetooth. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this? I've tried just turning bluetooth off before shutdown, but this doesn't seem to solve it. This is REALLY annoying, as I'd prefer to keep the machine off more often rather than having is sleep all the time.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI got my 2010 Mac Mini like 4 days ago , And you can see the spec on my signature... Now the thing is that i got 4GB Ram, And lately it happens a lot that the computer is just using RAM For nothing. For example if i go to the Activity monitor i can see there's only 1GB Ram and 3GB Ram is used. Now i really don't understand on what. Everything open me for me is the Google Chrome browser. And even if i close it it changes only a little. and i can actually feel the Mac OSX Is being slower... I wonder what wouldn't upgrade my Mac Mini and i would stuck with 2GB Ram.
Another issue i'm having is with the Magic Mouse, Lately it just becomes very very slow and i have to re-connect it to work fast as normal.
My mouse pad is acting weird. My mouse keeps freezing and I cannot log in to my computer. Sometimes when I move the mouse it just jumps around the screen but it will not go to the what I'm trying to click on. I tried to reboot the computer.

Every now and again my Mac Mini will freeze except whatever audio is currently playing will continue to play until end of file is reached (ie, the next track comes on iTunes) and the mouse cursor moves but the rest of the GUI is frozen, not allowing anything to be clicked, no keyboard interaction, and nothing else on the screen gets updated (the clock stays at whatever minute mark the computer froze at). I can SSH into the machine with Terminal on a different computer and poke around but I can't figure out where to take it from there. I've tried looking at processes with top and performing 'kill -9 pid' but I'm never able to bring the machine back without a hard reset.
Through the kill command I've tried quitting the Dock, Finder, any "big" programs I'm running (eg Logic Pro), but none has ever recovered my system.
How can I set the computer to use the trackpad and not a bluetooth mouse?

I am looking for iMovie in my computer, and I can't find it anywhere. I have used it before, but I can't find it in applications or finder. I know it can be purchased from the Apple Store for $15, but I know it comes with the computer. How might I find this application?

Every time my computer goes to sleep, the connection to my magic mouse is lost. I have to press the button on the bottom and get the Bluetooth to find my mouse again everytime, but then it works fine. The battery level is at 93%. It loses the mouse connection every time the computer goes to sleep. I even set the mouse as a favorite, and it did nothing.

I have a MBP 13", and I just got a magic mouse. Everything works fine, but every time I turn the mouse back on after turning it off, I have to manually connect my mouse to my laptop. Is there a way that the mouse can automatically connect to my computer, or do I have to "system preferences" it every time?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIf someone installs a spy-program locally on a computer, how would you go about finding it and/or rectifying the situation? A friend has reason to believe that someone installed software on their OS X computer to gather information. They may or may not have had the password, and she thinks they got on locally. How would she go about finding any such programs installed? She is reluctant to to a clean install (the only suggestion that I could think of).
