View 2 RepliesI just upgraded my hard drive, now my trackpad and bluetooth mouse will not scroll or swipe. Preferences for the trackpad will not open says theres an error, bluetooth mouse preferences open with no joy
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from a MBA rev A to a rev B. I experienced this with both machines, so it's not just a rev A issue...
I use a Bluetooth Mighty Mouse and everything is fine... until my hourly wireless Time Machine backup starts. Then the mouse cursor becomes very choppy and sluggish. As soon as the hourly backup completes, the mouse's responsiveness returns to normal. Throughout all this, the trackpad is just as responsive as always -- no change there. I don't have another bluetooth mouse to see if its just the Mighty Mouse.
When this happens, the Activity Monitor is not spiked. The fans aren't running loud (so I don't expect its an overheating issue). This doesn't happen during a large wireless download -- just Time Machine. It's not a big deal, but rather an annoyance.
Any ideas why? Or even more to the point, any ideas on how to fix it?
I know mighty mouse might be the perfect mouse for iMac. But is it too big for MacBook pro 13" and downgrade portablity? Should I buy bluetooth mighty Mouse for my new MacBook pro 13" or go for those smaller, lighter and cheaper bluetooth mouse from logitech/Microsoft? Besides, does bluetooth mouse work while using iPhone tethering over bluetooth?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought two track pads to use with my Lion OS on my MBP. One for the home and one for the office. The first one I set up was flawless. When I tried to repeate with the second one it would not connect. I tried to rename the first and the new name was accepted in the preference list but the details kept the old name.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was using my laptop as usual and the keyboard just stopped working, tried the trackpad and it was also gone. Used an USB mouse to get to preferences and no trackpas is being recognized by the laptop. I wanted to activate bluetooth to use an external keyboard but no bluetooth device is recognized inside neither.
Rebooted, powered off & on, plugged the MagSafe connector, tried without power and then used the three-prong power cable plugged it into a grounded outlet. No change, keyboard, trackpad and bluetooth are dead.
This laptop never showed any issues at all and, as I mentioned, I was working as usual with it.

If I want to format my Mac Pro (6 core 3.33 GHz) and I have an Apple wired keyboard and a bluetooth Magic Mouse will the Setup Assistant be "smart" enough to pair the mouse with the computer or will I be stuck with no mouse during the setup process? Do I have to run the entire process with a wired mouse?
View 3 Replies View RelatedPlease don't tell me magic mouse. I hate that thing with a passion. Maybe it's the shape of my hand i dunno....but i srsly hate it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOk, the Magic mouse is nice, it's pretty, it's got great scrolling features and it's bluetooth.
But after a few days of using it all day it's a pain. The ergonomics are not ideal, nowhere near as comfortable as my Logitech gaming mouse (can't remember the name) and my wrist hurts.
What is out there that is a good bluetooth mouse? They all seem a bit wishywashy to me, and the MS one I tried had dreadful latency that really bothers me.
Any suggestions?
Is there any reason this would keep happening? Is there something I can do to stop it from happening?
View 4 Replies View Relatedbluetooth and I am positive one of you are going to say bluetooth and gaming dont go together, but I did not ask that. Also, already know about the Razer Orochi but would like to stay away from it after I read alot of problems with the micro-sleep mode disconnecting the mouse every 1.5 seconds.

I purchased an apple bluetooth mouse last week for my MBA and it has been working great up until this morning. I went to use it and I have much delayed feedback in my mouse movements. Here are the things I tried:
1. Paired it with another mac w/bluetooth and it works normally.
2. Replaced the batteries on the bluetooth mouse, same issue.
3. Repaired the mouse with the MBA, same issue.
4. Changed the wireless channel on my airport express to 8.
Using a bt500 bluetake bluetooth mouse I keep losing the connection, and not being able to connect at all. The bt500 is super cool. I just got a new one because my old one stopped responding to the left button. Now it seems like every time I use the mba (also super cool) I have some kind of problem. Also the mba has frozen a number of times which never (or extremely rarely) happened with my MBPro and G4. I'm wondering if they've introduce a glitch into bluetooth.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I went out and bought the wireless Mighty Mouse. My first impressions are not good. Although I like the functionality, it just doesn't feel right - it feels a little flimsy and I can't get used to the scroll wheel. To top it all off, mine has a defect (it won't scroll left....only up/down/right). So I'm going to take it back to the Apple Store tomorrow. I think I'll end up getting something different, but I would like to keep with a Bluetooth one so I don't have to plug anything into my computer.
View 21 Replies View RelatedI've found many different explanations to why bluetooth on my Macbook would 'overheat' and then disconnect from all devices, only to show 'Bluetooth Not Responding'.
I was wondering if anyone has found a fix to this problem. I'm current on all updates running Snow Leopard. Normally, the bluetooth keyboard and mouse works for up to 5 minutes or so, but then loses its connection until it 'cools down' and then this process just repeats. The laptop is currently on a cooling fan and rarely needs the internal fan to even kick on so not sure what else to do.
Can't set up Targus PAKP003 non bluetooth mouse? Planning on ordering a better mouse, (any recommendations) but in the meantime I need to use this one.

Would using a USB mouse on my macbook wear the battery down more than using the trackpad ?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I'm looking for a fairly basic bluetooth mouse for my Macbook (white, Core Duo, 2 gigs RAM, 10.4.11) in an attempt to cut down on wires in my audio production studio. I don't want to get a Mighty Mouse due to some of the problems I've heard about re: the scroll ball. I'm looking on Newegg and a lot of the bluetooth mice look good, but most of them are designed for PC. Will they work with a Mac? Which ones do, and which ones don't?
View 3 Replies View RelatedToday my mouse ran out of batteries, so I went to get some new ones. I replaced them, the light on my mouse went on, and it seemed to be working. But, when I tried to move my clicker thing *on the computer* with my mouse, it didn't move. So, I looked at the bluetooth symbol on my computer, I'm on a MacBook, and it showed that my mouse wasn't connected. So I tried turning off the bluetooth, shutting off my mouse and turning it back on, taking out and putting the batteries back in the mouse, and none of these worked. So I went to "Browse Device" and my mouse was there, I clicked on it twice and it said "There was an error connecting to the device". I also deleted it from the bluetooth list, and I am now unable to get it back on the list!

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust bought a bluetooth logitech mouse (V470). It's cool and fair for what I paid, no complains there. But I got a question about the Bluetooth on Macbooks. I have the Early 2009 model Macbook White. How less is gonna last my battery fully charged with WiFi On and Bluetooth On all time? Obviusly I'm gonna turn off BT when I'm using the trackpad, but just to know.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just noticed something... Since upgrading to Snow Leopard I can't figure out how on earth do I switch on the 'ignore trackpad when mouse is present' feature, when a mouse is present, if there are no setting in the system preferences for this? Did i miss something?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI really miss being able to flick to auto scroll when not using the magic mouse.
Seems this should be possible?
I have a problem with MacBook. Without the topcase, external USB mouse is working ok. With topcase not-mouse (USB and trackpad) is slow and when machine warming then its goes better. I have tried 3-4 different topcase.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince a couple of weeks, the trackpad on my mid 2010 13'' MBP sometimes keeps selecting everything when I move my mouse. The only (temporary) solution is to restart.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI starting having problems with my MacBook this morning. After being asleep I started using it again and I wasn't getting a responce from mouse or trackpad clicks. The cursor will still move but I can't select anything. I did a hard restart once and it went back to normal. After it happened again I did another hard restart and it wouldn't boot up again. I did two hard shut downs/restarts and it finally booted up again. Although it's still not responding.

I have a logitech mouse and just recently my trackpad has started not working when it is plugged in to my right USB even though the mouse is not on. I take out the USB and the trackpad works again. The left USB still works but occasionally it will stop the trackpad as well, but I unplug it and plug it back in and everything is back to normal. My trackpad was working fine with the usb plugged in up until yesterday. What is going on and is there a way I can keep the mouse usb in my computer and still use my trackpad?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy macbook pro has the most annoying problem. Sometimes, in a totally random fashion, my bluetooth mighty mouse and apple keyboard just freeze. Bluetooth shows them as connected but they do not respond. Sometimes redoing the ?set up a Bluetooth device? option works but other times the computer refuses to see the devices and only a restart, followed by the setup assistant will fix the problem. Am I the only one with this problem or is it common? Hardware or software? Any fixes?
btw, I think it started doing this since 10.5.7 so I would say it is software...
