I'm having difficulty downloading the newest software for my iPhone. Everytime I try to download the new software a dialogue box appears that says my iTunes is updated to the current version (9.2.1). First of all, why is that appearing at all? And second of all I know for a fact there are more recent versions of iTunes out there...I've seen it. So problem A: my iPhone software won't download so I can update it, I'm assuming I need to download the latest version of iTunes which brings me to Problem B. When searching for the latest update for iTunes, I can download it on my computer but it won't install because it's saying I need to update my OS to 10.5 or higher.
So...do I need to upgrade my OS in order to update my iPhone software and is there a way to go from 10.4.11 to 10.5 for free? If not why do I have to, in the end, pay to update my iPhone software now when I haven't done that since the beginning?
Btw my computer is a MacBook Pro 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo processor.

My Mac at work is due for an update but everytime I attempt to update it I am given the notification that the computer needs to restart in order to continue with the update. So I follow the prompt to restart it but all it does is go to an empty screen that only shows the background and the mouse. No service bars above the screen or below. Just the background and the mouse. It wont do anything passed that. What can I do to get it to actually restart?

I have a problem with SOME of my albums in itunes. Some of them ( aprox 20%) are displaying the sogns within an album in an alphabetical order. I do not have "track" in the column header selected. I have tried selecting "track #"but this does not rectify the track names into the original album order. I can not manually enter the track number either in the "track #" field to manually rectify this as iTunes does not allow you do this. It is really frustrating that I have to listen to some of my albums in alpabetical song name order rather than the order the artist wanted me to. I've got a whole lot of music, 45 days worth, and I view it by date added and want to keep it that way for a number of reasons.
Problem is, when I want to play an album I have to click on the first track, then switch to album (or artist) display by the end of that track.
The other day I added an album by dragging it into iTunes in the Finder. I noticed that I could start and stop and advance and rewind tracks and it would go in order, from first to last track, even in Date Added mode, so it was visually moving up and down instead of from top to bottom.
Is there secretly a way to view in Date Added but have the next track be the next track on that album? Besides dragging the tracks into iTunes from the Finder I mean.
If anyone has a way to do this, it would seriously improve my life and I would be infinitely grateful.

Lion recovery update from the software update won't install. Keeps spooling (I think that is the word for the updaet never seems to finish updating). I usually have to ignore the update...but why won't my iMac accept the update? I am running Lion 10.7.3 on a late 2009 iMac 4gb memory, 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.

I've enjoyed the gestures on the MacBook Pro with Lion OSX very cool. I've started to swipe left and right with three fingers to switch between desktops, very nice and quick. However, if I forget and "click" to one of the applications that has it's own desktop it changes my desktop order. Can I "fix" or "set" the desktop order? Example: Mail desktop 1, Safari desktop 2, Word Processor desktop 3, Calendar desktop 4, Contacts desktop 5?If I forget to swipe between desktops but instead click in the menu bar the order of the desktops changes. Can I "set" the desktop order so that it does not change?

Installed an update for WePrint Server APP which popped up onscreen. Downloaded update, installer program loaded, selected drive, and install was successful. Closed the install program window (Safari open in background along with other programs running in dock, but not on screen), but the Installer menu bar remained on the top of the screen. Lost the OSX Lion Status / menu bar, the Apple icon, time, user, etc. Was able to use Safari, but not without hesitation.
The Safari menu bar at the top of the screen never appeared while in Safari, the Install Program menu did not disappear, even thought there was no evidence that the program was still running. No icon in dock, no hidden screen page or window. Closed all the running programs in the docks, and checked Force Quit, (ctrl+alt+esc) and no installer program remained. Unable to shut off or restart the computer without using the on / off button on the back of the intel mac monitor. Once rebooted all seems well.

On System-Start of a brand new Mac Pro, neither Bluetooth-Mouse nor USB-Keyboard (both Apple) are working correctly. While Keyboard is completely out of order, Mouse moves but click is impossible. But after 10 minutes or so they both do start to work!

View 4 Replies View Relatedwhen I see the files in one of the folders in the finder, in list view only, they are organized from Z to A and I want to change that to see them from A to Z. I cannot do it. I used to change the list by clicking the ¨name¨, but now that doesn´t work. If I change the view to icons or cover flow, the same files are organized alphabetically. It seems I changed that (I mean from Z to A) once, before I got Lion, and now I cannot reverse the organization of files.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just finished an original rock album, registered it with Gracenote, and it is being sold through itunes and many other places via cdbaby. The album is also available to download via Dropcards to people that buy or receive a download crad from us in person. PROBLEM is, when you download the cd, the tracks are in the proper order as on the album when they are in a folder from Dropcards, then you drag them into itunes and they are in ALPHABETICAL order in the RECENTLY ADDED folder! Under the MUSIC tab, they however are in proper album order. ?? It's good that the cd is properly registered and is in the right order in peoples main MUSIC list, but when I download albums, the easiest way to find the new album is under RECENTLY ADDED, which in my case would have people clicking on the wrong song to start listening to our record (not the intended feel we wanted to start the record with)Â
