Last time I upgraded the system I had the same problem. My Lexmark C925 goes missing on the network. I seem to remember last time, all of a sudden it just started working so didn't think anymore of it!!
I've deleted the Printer in Preferences. When trying to reinstall the progress bar just whirls around forever. When I stop it the Lexmark isn't seen at all!
One time it said my Printer software was damaged and did I want it repaired. I said yes, but made no difference. Tried installing the latest Lexmark drivers myself (from Apple and Lexmark) to no avail. I've tried rebooting (Mac and printer). Is there an issue with Lexmarks drivers???

I stupidly downloaded and used ccleaner from the appetite and since using it my MacBook will let me use the internet even though wifi appears connected. I plugged in a cable from the router yet still no internet.

My wireless network is connected to my iMac but the internet goes down a lot and I have to reset the wifi up in the menu bar. It doesn't lose bars at all or say its disconnected. My wireless printer always works just fine. None of the other computers in my house have this problem.

I just bought a new iMac yesterday at the Apple store. I connected it at home to install a few programs, and the internet worked perfectly. (I also own an older iMac plus a unibody Macbook.) I go to the office today, and the wireless and ethernet cables connect and show bars, but fail to load any pages off the internet. All of the other computers in the office are PCs and connect perfectly fine to the internet using both wifi and ethernet cables. It's just the iMac.

I have a Mid 2009 21inch IMac connected to the external hard drive. I just bought macbook air which i use to connect to my iMac at home via icloud. My problem is that i cannot find the external hard drive which is connected to the iMac. I tried to assign the external storage as shared folder. That didnt work. I do remember that I tried both an upgrade and a fresh install, but both were unsuccessful. Problem is that there are games and software that are coming out now that are only compatible with 10.7. I was running java 1.6.0_33 on my Mac Lion and later I installed java 1.7.0_05. Now in my Java preferences I see both the Java SE available.Now my problem is when I enable Java 7(& select Enable applet plug-in and Web start applications), my JNLP file doesn't run with java web start, from Safari as well as Firefox. When I try running the jnlp using Open With option and selecting Java Web Start present in /System/Library/CoreServices, nothing happens.
When I try running the JNLP file from Terminal suing command /System/Library/CoreServices/Java Web Start.app/Contents/MacOS/Java Web Start xyz.jnlp I get following error

My Macbook Pro was working fine when suddenly Safari froze, so I forced quit. After opening Safari again, the page just stayed white and wouldn't load. None of my other programs requiring internet are working either (ie. AIM, Skype), even though my internet connection is listed as connected and other devices using Wifi are working perfectly. Since the flurry of 2012 updates, Java is completely broken on my Mac Pro. Java dependent apps don't start and Apple Support says to enable the apps in Java Preferences. Nice idea, but Java Preferences WILL NOT LAUNCH either. There were plenty of tools to address flashback and they DID NOT break normal day to day operations.I downloaded the package from support to try a re-installation, but it says "A newer version of Java is already installed" and offers me the option to Close. No reinstall, nothing. Apple support is at it's usual level of service on this issue, completely INVISIBLE.

I have a 13" MacBook Pro and it is not connecting to the internet! Airport says im connected to my internet connection, but safari won't load the internet. I tried Firefox and still, the same result. I resetted the modem and the router, but still nothing. The internet connection on my other computer works fine. So I got on the Windows partition and it connects to the internet! So it's just OSX that won't let me connect cause my Windows partition works fine.

So I am using Cisco VPN client, and when connected to the VPN network I get files but can no longer use the internet! I tried once to use macs built in VPN but there are options in Cisco that I didn't see on the mac version, and it did not work at all. I am using Cisco version 4.9.01, on a mac pro 10.5.6.
