Mar 22, 2010there are two things that the macbook is doing to me. one is that sometimes when i move the screen up or down (the hinge is rather stiff) a white (thin) line flashes across the screen. but recently, while randomly browsing through the internet, the screen almost... i guess faded to a gray screen, but like gradually, and not like a kernel error, like the display just faded away. happened twice in a row, did a battery pull and now wont do it again.

Mar 29, 2012I have iMac 27 and screen problem on start up i have blue vertical lines, when it start i have a lot of blue dots and nothing else. when I connect outside monitor its showing the same.
Just installed lion and still the same problem when it starts blue dots, when startup in safe mode loads of blue lines and dots on the screen.

Sep 30, 2010i was using my (late 2008) macbook 2.0Ghz when i noticed a vertical Blue Line going across the screen from the top to the bottom. I have uploaded pictures for you guys to see below.MY APPLECARE HAS ENDED!Can someone explain if this is something wrong with the LCD screen itself or the video card or the connector is loose?And if its a software or hardware problem, how to solve it by software? i have quoted asolution. But can someone verify if it works?

Dec 11, 2010I bought a imac 21.5" less than a year ago and I just sent it in to get fixed because of black clouding underneath the LCD panel anyways after sending it away for over a month (and they gave me a piece of crap pc laptop for a loaner) i get it back it's good as new, 2 weeks later (today) now this pink line is stuck across my screen so i;ve been reading some threads and this problem doesn't go away anyway i'm getting pissed off with this i'm about to buy another one so I always have one thats not in the shop (ridiculous) or a pc, i really like my imac but this sucks,, what should I do?

Jul 3, 2012New to Mac computers. When trying to open computer after being in sleep mode, I clicked the mouse to open the password screen, & a blank blue/black screen appeared & the mouse timer( colored circle) appeared, as if to be waiting. I had to unplug the computer to reboot it. This has happened twice in 2 days.

May 21, 2012This evening, quite suddenly, a gray (or black, depending on what's on the screen) vertical line has appeared across my imac screen, about a quarter of the way up from the bottom. Above that are some are three, much lighter lines (more like subtle variations or blocks of colour running across the screen). These appear on all windows I open. I took a screen shot using grab and the very definite gray line doesn't appear.

Jun 19, 2014my macbook pro screen has two thin green lines running down the screen from top to bottom. i have run the apple hardware test and it has detected an error. unfortunately i am in a remote village for the next two months and unable to get my macbook to a repair centre. What the thin green lines indicate?, whether the error on the hard drive and the green lines are connected or something different? the lap top seems to be working fine however im concerned that as i cant get to a repair place for the next 2 months whether continued use will damage the computer further?

Apr 10, 2012I'm trying to boot a relatively new intel iMac. I can boot to a blue screen, in which all that happens is the music that happens with the welcome video of mac OS X.
I currently have no keyboard to do diagnostics with because I don't have the wireless keyboard that came with the mac, nor a wired keyboard. I'm planning on borrowing a simple wired keyboard to use to diagnose the mac in verbose mode and safe mode etc.
The owner of the mac has done a complete reinstall, hence the welcome video music, and that hasn't worked, as the screen shows no sign of anything other than blue.

Intel Mac :: IOs Don't Load Still On Blue Screen
Apr 27, 2012I was using Safari on my iMac, but suddenly started to go slow, with the typical multicolor ball. After this, and because i cannot do anything more with the computer i tried to restart it, but never finished the process.
Finally I restarted the computer manually, but after that appeared a folder with a "question" mark on loading screen. I tried to start the computer on Safe Mode, and was possible. Then I checked the hhd with disk utility and appears ok.Well, i tried again to restart and the computer seems to load IOs, but finaly still on a blue screen with a working wheel apearing at times.
Then i restarted again on safe mode to try to do a new backup (the computer was going well, and i was so stupid to use the backup hdd for another use) but when it's only at 200mb, more or less, time machine says that there is an error and stops.
