Intel Mac :: Quicken 2007 Updated - Transfer Files From A G4?
Mar 26, 2012
I have Quicken 2007 for Mac on my G4 and would like to move it to my new iMac currently running Lion. I downloaded the recently-released update that will allow Quicken to run on Lion, then downloaded the file to an external USB drive. I then uploaded it to my iMac, and Quicken opens, but does not have any of my account information. I then deleted the files from my iMac and downloaded another copy of Quicken 2007 from the Quicken website. I then downloaded the update to my iMac, but it would not open. So, it appears that I have to transfer it form my G4, but need to do it in a way that will also transfer my data.
I ordered a firewire cable and am planning to try to move it directly. In the meantime, does anybody have any tips? Just so you know, I really want to use Quicken.
Just upgraded to OSx Lion 10.7 and find that Quicken 2007 won't open as Lion does not support it. Quicken advises that it does not yet have Quicken for Lion but is working on it. Meantime I am stuck as I use Quicken all the time. I am wondering if it is possible to uninstall Lion using the Snow Leopard install CD. At present, Lion is a disaster and I'd like to get rid of it and go back to Snow Leopard. Apple really screwed up with this one.
We are a PC to Mac convert and still trying to understand some basics. We have an iMac 21.5 and expecting delivery of a external 1.5 TD drive. More than we'll even need, but dirt cheap. We also run Windows 7 64 bit through VMware Fusion. The only reason for that is the Windows version of Quicken is a better product the the Mac version.
We will back up pics, Videos, etc., on the iMac under MacOs with Time Machine. Can Time Machine also backup the quicken data files from the Windows 7 VM machine? I hoping we do not need to maintain separate backup drives to manage the different type of file formats between Windows and Mac. I hoping this can be managed through one place...Time Machine.
I have 10.8.5 and use Quicken. I updated last week and lost 5 years of data. I have Time Machine but when I go to data from last month Quicken doesn't come up. How can I find it?
My old PC crashed so I bought an iMAc and wanted to transfer files I have backed up on a WD My Passport. I tried using the Migration assistant on my new iMac but it wouldn't recognize it.
I was wondering if there is a easy way of taking all my itunes files on a PC which include books, videos, music, and apps including my iPhone and iPad.Yes good people in this forum I have taken the plunge and left the PC world for the Mack and I will be receiving my new 27 inch imach next week
I used my Acer netbook basically as a hard drive while on vacation to download video and photos to free up my cameras. How would you recommend transferring these to my iMac now?
I have an iMac but want to send files wirelessly to my Windows based laptop (Windows 7 Ultimate). Not complex files but folders containing documents etc... we share the same wifi network but I haven't got a clue.
I just got my 500 Gb HD in the mail and want to swap my hard drives while keeping all of my data. Does time machine work like this? Can i back my 120Gb HD up and then install my 500Gb HD and then put my files back on?
I am trying to add new songs to my new iPhone and they will not go across from my itunes, i continue adding other songs and the number of 'files being updated' increases but never gets smaller
I have a 2011 Macbook Pro and an older (5 year old) Western Digital external hard drive. I have always used this hard drive for both mac and windows. Recently, however, whenever I go to transfer a file from the mac to the WD hard drive, the little transfer window pops up and it appears to initiate the transfer. However, it never fully starts it. It appears to "get stuck" in that initiating stage, showing zero of 3.16 gb transferred and shows an unknown transfer time. This happens no matter how long I leave it open. Again, I have used this external hard drive with my macs for the past 5 years without any problems until now. I haven't moved or modified the WD hard drive
Perhaps this has been answered before but nothing turned up in my search. I'm a Mac convert switching from MS XP, where I was using Word 2007. Over time, I compiled several special dictionaries. If I switch to Office 2008 for Mac will I be able to transfer these from Word 2007?
I understand that Word for Mac does not ahve VBA support, therefore no macros like in Word 2007. Does office 2008 (Word) have some sort of macro capability.
I'm not changing back to a Windows user, it's just that I *need* to get my contacts onto Outlook 2007 as well. My contacts in Entourage are organized nicely, with each contact's name and e-mail address. Really simple information. I then go to "Export", and choose to export the contacts to a "tab-delimited text" file (it's my only choice). Basically, I get this .txt file. I then go to my Outlook 2007, and have tried importing both "Comma Separated Values" and "Tab Separated Values" with my .txt file. Unfortunately, while each contact's name and e-mail DO get imported, the format is completely messed up. I get this "map field" window when I choose to import by Tab Separated Values, but I've tried all different combinations, and every time, the names and e-mails simply jumble up altogether. Has anyone tried importing Entourage contacts into Outlook 2007? And if so, can you please give me some instructions on how to do so?
I've installed Microsoft OneNote for my new Mac Air running OSX 10.9.4, but am unable to read OneNote 2007 files uploaded to OneDrive in the .one format. I'm perfectly willing to switch to Evernote, if there is a way to import .onr files into Evernote. Do I need to save them on my PC in a different format before uploading them? Â
