My Flash Player is not disabled. What now? Downloaded latest from Adobe but doesn't work. Now what? Beta on MacUpdate but don't know if it updates the latest version. Anybody found another workaround?
I can't install neither Security Update 2012-003 nor Flashback Removal Update. The installer says the software cannot be installed on my machine. I am on a G5 (PPC) iMac running OSX 10.5.8. What's going wrong? By the way, automatic software update did not find any updates for me. I had to download the updates manually from Apple's software support page.
What has been released to install as a security update? I seem to be clicking on one web link which takes me to another and nothing to actually install. Typical Apple. Really wish I hadn't bought this MacCrap Air - I do miss my PC.
I am running OS 10.5.8 on an iMac. There is no security update issued for this operating system - it only covers 10.6. Is my comuter vulnerable? Do I need to do anything?
Just upgraded to OSx Lion 10.7 and find that Quicken 2007 won't open as Lion does not support it. Quicken advises that it does not yet have Quicken for Lion but is working on it. Meantime I am stuck as I use Quicken all the time. I am wondering if it is possible to uninstall Lion using the Snow Leopard install CD. At present, Lion is a disaster and I'd like to get rid of it and go back to Snow Leopard. Apple really screwed up with this one.
I have Quicken 2007 for Mac on my G4 and would like to move it to my new iMac currently running Lion. I downloaded the recently-released update that will allow Quicken to run on Lion, then downloaded the file to an external USB drive. I then uploaded it to my iMac, and Quicken opens, but does not have any of my account information. I then deleted the files from my iMac and downloaded another copy of Quicken 2007 from the Quicken website. I then downloaded the update to my iMac, but it would not open. So, it appears that I have to transfer it form my G4, but need to do it in a way that will also transfer my data.
I ordered a firewire cable and am planning to try to move it directly. In the meantime, does anybody have any tips? Just so you know, I really want to use Quicken.
My MacBook Pro will not reboot after a failed software update that was attempted on 2/8/2012. I am not sure if other users have experienced similar issues. It will not go past the white screen. I have powered down the computer few times already to no avail.
[URL] MacBook SMC Firmware Update 1.4 is available either through Software Update or via direct download, and is applicable to the following models:
MacBook (13-inch Late 2007) MacBook Pro (17-inch, Early 2008) MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2008) MacBook (13-inch, Early 2008) MacBook (13-inch, Late 2008)
I have problems since applying the latest security Update 2009-001 and Java 10.5 Update 3, I have 10.5.6 on the new unibody 2.4ghz and have completely lost the ability to connect to my wireless access point which is an apple airport extreme base station.
I can sometimes se the base station but cannot connect to it and sometimes cannot see it at all. I have three other apple computers at home all less then a year old running the same build of 10.5.6 but have not updated them and they all are fine.
This one was perfect untill I applied the update.
The machine I am having problems with is partitioned with windows 7 beta on it which has no problems connecting to the base station, which indicates that its not a hardware problem but more then likely the update which is causing the problem.
Is there a way to uninstall the last update or delete it? Any one with a similar problem or know how I can fix it, I have googled but cannot seem to find anyone with similar problems.
now that everythings is working again, I'm planning on upgrading my HD and buying Snow Leopard as well as Windows 7, but I'm holding off untill the release of the offical bootcamp drivers.Untill then I wonder if I can upgrade my current bootcamp drivers. I'm still running Tiger OS and the beta bootcamp on wich I installed XP, SP3. I can imagine that my drivers are hopelessly outdated, with the exception of Nvidia drivers. My Question: Can I just upgrade my currect XP drivers to bootcamp 3.0? If so, what is the correct procedure for it? I can't find any conclusive information on that through forums and google.
I just updated java for MAC OS X 10.6 which is a security update. I have no idea whether I am using java applets in my web browser. I am unwilling to disable the java web plugin in my web browser until I know what I'm giving up.

My mac will not automatically detect displays, and even sometimes requires a restart. I've reset SMC, PRAM, repaired permissions, and cleared the caches.
While trying to download the latest security update I received a message telling me the update failed and it had been sent to the trash. The trash was empty and I now didn't have enough free disk space to retry the download so I decided to reboot my computer to free up some disk space. I haven't been able to reboot it since. While booting it gets stuck on the 'starting mac os' screen. I've reset the pram and I've done disk and permission repairs and have tried to start it in safe mode, but it won't. While holding the shift key to get to safe mode It still gets stuck on the same screen (though it takes a few more minutes to get there). I don't have the right version of the start up disk as apple replaced my computer but didn't give me a new start up disk.
I have downloaded the latest security update and my MacBook has been stuck on this blue screen with a little download wheel at the bottom of the screen for about seven hours now. What should I do?
The setup: VirtualBox (latest), Snow Leopard and Windows XP.
The situation: I installed VirtualBox, all seems fine. I then installed Windows XP. All seemed fine. I installed Gust Additions. Then I installed Safari. Then I went and downloaded and installed Microsoft Security Essentials. When it attempted to install, it would fail, and asks me to restart and try again. I went ahead and restarted. When the virtual machine restarted, it'd get all screwed up, squashed video and frozen. Then I'd get a dialog saying that the virtual machine disk image has a problem or some such, and claims that a likely cause is a problem with the harddrive. After I clicked OK, it beachball'd. I force-quit the program.
my mbp 15" won't install FT, kept getting msg saying need security update 2010-005. I did a software update and everything is up to date. and found that 2010-005 was installed a month back. i did a reinstall of that security update via apple site and try FT again. the same thing happen, same msg!
In the last two years when I have attempted to update my security on my Macbook Pro (Tiger OS) it has either not completed the download or frozen my computer. I've had to back up and erase my hard drive twice and reload everything. Is there some sort of bug in this update? I want to update to snow leopard but when I've tried with the upgrade disk it tells me that Snow Leopard will not install on my OS. Will the security update facilitate that?
Using a MacBook Pro 2.16 Ghz Intel, running 10.6.8 - ever since I installed the security update I can no longer print. Printer is a Brother HL-4570CDW color laser with current drivers. Ran disc utility to repair permissions but no change.
