Jun 5, 2014I want to be able to create a calendar event by either typing a name and getting a dropdown list from Contacts, or by clicking on a contact and getting the option to create an event. Phone numbers and addresses would then be available in the calendar instead of having to separately looking up the contact info.

Dec 12, 2009I have a contact for my mom which used to be her first name and last name which I later changed to just "Mom" in the first name box after getting an iPhone. At the same time I started syncing with MobileMe and have been having this problem for about 2 years. Every time I send her an email it changes her name from just Mom to Mom and then adds her last name back into the last name field.

May 28, 2012When Safari is active, the menubar and the dock disappears. I have chosen not to show/hide dock in system preferences, and whenever any other program than Safari is active, the dock and menubar stays put. My OS is 10.7 - P.S. I have not maximized the Safari-window.
What could cause this, and how do I get the dock and menubar to stay even when Safari is active?

OS X V10.7 Lion :: 1.5GB Of RAM Just Disappears?
Apr 29, 2012i just started using dropbox to sync my files. i tried uploading a 1GB file and it worked. however, while i was uploading it somehow 1.5 GB of RAM or so became used. i checked in activity monitor and it doesn't say what's using so much RAM in the list. nothing has changed in terms of memory usage in activity monitor, but 1.5GB of ram of is still being used.Â

May 17, 2012Always when I stopped my Imac and restart and logged in again ,I have lost my contact with the Time capsule and the mac is givng an error that there is no contact with the time capsule and it is not possible to make a backup in timemachine.After i have reconfigurate the timecapsule it is working again.

May 27, 2012I have a 20" white 2.16 GHz Intel iMac running OS 10.6.8 with 4GB of memory. Over the past year it has developed an odd fault. Whenever I try to open a folder (or select 'new folder' or 'new finder window' from the drop-down menu), it hangs for a couple of seconds and then all the icons/folders on the desktop disappear, leaving only the dock visible. After about three seconds, the icons/folders all reappear. Oddly, if I persist in trying to open a folder, it eventually succeeds, typically after approximately 20 attempts, although sometimes the first couple of times a window actually does open, it disappears again as soon as I use the scroll bar. Eventually, it always seems to work, but takes around two minutes of frustrating effort to open any folder instead of the normal split second.Â
Has anyone else encountered this problem? I've tried reinstalling the operating system and initialising the hard drive, but the problem still always returns..it's really annoying!

May 23, 2012This morning my wireless mouse needed battery replacement. After that, the cursor disappears as I move it away from the dock area. If I move over buttons and am lucky, the proper action will take place but I cannot see the cursor. Sort of like playing Battleship game. Blindly move the mouse and hope I hit something. Although this is new this morning, I've had the same problem in the past but it went away. It seems worse or much more annoying this morning.My wired mouse displays the same problem. I had to borrow my wife's laptop to send this problem. The only program open is Safari.

Sep 13, 2014I've recently purchased a 0.5m thunderbolt cable to connect my Macbook pro to my 27" iMac. All is fine until I exit Target Display Mode (apple F2). At that point the cursor disappears. Very annoyingly, I can just about trace it's whereabouts via the various cues on web browser windows, and through trial and error navigate to the apple menu and restart, whereupon it's all back to normal. How I can prevent it from happening?Â

Dec 3, 2014I recently bought a1tb USB HDD . When I connect this to my late 2012, 27"Â 2.9Ghz Mac my Time Machine 2tb USB HDD disappears.
When I remove the 1tb USB HDD the Time Machine repairs. I have checked Finder and Disk Utility and it does not show there either.
How i can stop this from happening?

Mar 20, 2012For the last two weeks, when using Safari, the top bar which shows the word Safari, File etc (can't remember what it is called) disappears unless I move my cursor up to it. I have checked Safari preferences and System preferences and can't figure out how to stop it from disappearing. I suspect it is a check box.Â
I have tried to check the "view" option to hide/show and neither solves the problem.Â

Apr 17, 2012since a few weeks, we regularly experience that the sound volume control does not show up in the screen title bar, and we cannot play music in iTunes or in youtube. I don't know if this is since i attached a usb Time machine backup disk or since when i upgraded from 10.7.2 to 10.7.3 The only way out is rebooting and then this works again, The sound volume control is back and i can listen music.Â

I've had the same one for well over a year and then last week I noticed on start up at the User screen the picture was missing.I went into system preferences > users/groups > and pulled down the drp down menu besides the picture square and chose a small avatar picture to use. All seemed good. Shut the Mac down and then restarted again and it had gone again. Tried another picture and same thing. always had a picture from my library and not an Apple system one.

May 29, 2012My address book flies up above the top of my screen when I open it. It will appear when I hit F3, but then it disappears again when I click on it to open the page. Â
I can move the application to different desktops, where I can see the very bottom of the window, but am unable to use the mouse to drag it down to where it can do me any good.Â
On a frustrating meter, it's probably a five-and-a-half, or six. It's been like this for several weeks, and I probably ought to get this figured out before too much longer.Â
My software all seems to be updated. I've force quit the application, rebooted the machine, and nothing seems to be giving me any satisfaction. Â

Apr 17, 2012I have created a new distribution list (contact group) in Address Book. I have tried selecting "Send email to 'group name'" from the contextual menu. The mail window that opens does not have the To/CC/Bcc fields populated at all.I have also tried typing the name of the group in the To/CC/Bcc fields within a new Mail message. The group is recognized, as it shows up in the dropdown, but the fields remain empty once the group name is selected.
