Intel Mac :: Incoming Mail In Mac Mail Is All Going To Trash?

Apr 18, 2012

My Internet Service provider notified me that my mailbox was full so I deleted thousands of messages.  Mail continues to arrive in trash.  I have an iMac computer, Version 10.6.8.  How can I get the mail to come to my incoming mailbox?

Mac Pro :: Change Incoming Mail Settings In Snow Leopard Mail?

Mar 24, 2012

When I try to change the settings for my Mail app, in Snow Leopard, the incoming mail settings are greyed out.  What do I do to be able to change these?

(I had a problem, with my Mail account, which a consultant fixed for me on my laptop.  But I cannot remember what he did to access the incoming mail server preferences, and make the changes, because on my desktop these are still greyed out.)

ICloud :: Cannot Use Mail - Incoming Mail Server Grayed Out

Jun 6, 2012

This has happened before. All is well, then one day iCloud Mail decides it won't work and the "exclaimation point" error appears next to that account in mail.

Trying to re-enter the account information is futile as the incoming mail server is grayed out, only displaying "mail.example.com" which the user cannot change.

Tried deleting the account and re-adding, but it just adds a new, blank account which cannot be modified. At that point, my iCloud mail account is entirely gone from the computer and apparently can not be recovered.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Mail App Freeze When Downloading "incoming Mail"

Apr 10, 2012

Its been a while that I've experienced freezing session in my mail app (lion os) so as a natural reaction Force Quit>Reopen was the case. After a while I started to notice that it only froze, as in giving me the rainbow wheel, when it was downloading an "incoming mail". Since i get quite a bit of work related pictures and media filled news letters my mail app goes rainbow wheel quite often. After an incoming mail is downloaded, my mail app goes back to fully functioning. There is absolutely no other problems with it. Its just that when mail is being downloaded i cant use my mail app and its starting to get annoying.

Im running a mid 2009 MBP 13" with  V 10.7.3 and my mail app version is V 5.2 (1257) . I have growl for mail installed as a plug in but i don't think that's the reason for the freezes.

Intel Mac :: Why Does Mail Say That Items Cannot Be Moved To Trash

May 29, 2012

I cannot delete email the "normal" way. When I set up my POP account, it created a second trash folder with the same name as my mail account. There are thus two folders in my Trash can - "On My Mac" and the one named after my email account. When I try to delete any mail it says that I cannot move anything to the Trash folder for my Mail account. I have to DRAG all email I wish to delete to the "On My Mac" Trash folder? I just want to be able to click delete and have email go away! Why is this not working?

Intel Mac :: How To Mass Delete In Mail Trash

Jun 2, 2012

I'm in Mail and my trash has about 80 deleted messages.  I cannot figure out how to do a mass delete.  Please don't tell me this has to be done one delete at a time.  I've tried a few key strokes and mouse/key combinations, but obviously not the right ones. Now, this is not in MAILBOXES, where a right click and Erase Deleted Items does the job. This is under my 'GMAIL' box, which is linked to MAIL. I can right click--erase deleted items there until I am blue in the face to no avail.

OS X :: Highlight Incoming Messages In Mac Mail

Apr 24, 2010

Is there anyway to highlight an already read and saved message in Mac Mail? To clarify, when I open Mail I have a window that shows all my incoming messages, both unread and read. Sometimes after I read a message I want to be able to go back and quickly find it. This could be several days later and in the meantime I have 50 more saved messages and trying to find it is difficult. Is there some way to highlight it in color or flag it so I can easily go back and find it? I am running 10.5.8 although I doubt that has any bearing on anything.

Software :: Mac Mail - Excessive Incoming Messages

Sep 8, 2009

I use Mac Mail at home and at work. At home everything works fine. At work, in general everything is working, but every time I start up Mail, it says there are over 1500 Incoming Messages and proceeds to "download" them. Of course there aren't these messages. My two email accounts are .Mac IMAP account and a business IMAP account. These 1500 messages don't seem to be put anywhere, and I can't seem to figure out which account these messages are coming from. The problem is downloading all of this makes my computer slow down a bunch (old mac) and it takes a long time. The problem does not affect my home Mac or my iPhone.

OS X :: Mac Mail - Incoming Message Slow Download

Oct 6, 2010

I've noticed a problem with my mac mail. The number 1 over the mail icon comes up to show I have a new mail, but upon clicking into mail to see it, who it is from and the subject line is there, but it takes 20-30 seconds for the mail to download. This is happening across all email accounts, coming from a mixture of imap and pop accounts. I've also noticed in my activity monitor that my amount of free system memory is very low (dropping to under 50 meg when I have things open). If I install more system memory, do you think this will solve the email problem.

OS X V10.5 Leopard :: No Incoming Mail-password Asked?

Apr 3, 2012

Besides the below mentionned iMac I also still have an iMac 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with OSX 10.5.8 installed.Since a few days my mail application on the 10.5 iMac doesn't receives any incoming mails from my Me.com account and I receive constantly the request to enter my password. This mail application worked entirely well until it started asking for its password.Strangely enough I can access the concerned mail account on the below mentioned iMac, on the concerned iMac via Safari on iCloud.com and also on my iPad I tried in my opinion nearly everything suggested on the forum and the support pages. I even tried restoring the mail application from a time machine back-up prior to the incident. As incoming mail server in the Mail preferences "mail.mac.com" is mentioned. I tried to change this to "imap.mail.me.com" but even after saving the change it still mentions "mail.mac.com". what i should do to have my mail application work again on the 10.5.8 iMac? Could or should I f.i. restore other files than the Mail application from my Time Machine Back-up?
