View 1 RepliesI have a 21" iMac (2011 I think) but could not face time a friend on an iPad in the States or my husband downstairs on his IPad 2. We are on SKy WiFi so what is the problem? He was able to connect with that friend in the States from his IPad but I couldn't.Â

My imac won't let me connect to Facetime calls. How do i fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI setup my new iMac (purchased 14 May 2014) with a whole bunch of FaceTime contacts.  These are there in my FaceTime pane. I bought an iPadAir last week and also have an iPhone. On both these Apple devices I also entered some FaceTime contact data, tried both out and they worked just fine; that is they talked to each other and other people. As this information was slightly different on all three devices, I wanted them to automatically follow what I have on my iMac, so I plugged them both in to the iMac. I then (separately) did a Sync of both devices from iTunes, and all the data for FaceTime in both cases instead of being updated and streamlined/synchronized with my iMac has been wiped. automatically rather than have to enter and re-enter all the data again and again each time I do a Sync.Â
Note: when I did the Sync the music I added today went where it should, so there's no problem with connections, etc. On the Info page I've clicked on "Sync Contacts" which would seem to be what was necessary. Now when I try to Sync either of these devices, the Sync process goes on and on and never stops. I can't see any way of stopping it other than doing a Force Quit of iTunes - which is pretty useless as I will obviously want to Sync these and my other Apple devices again in the future. As a result of this neither of these devices will now Sync with my iMac, other than locking themselves into a cintinuous loop. As I've just bought both the iMac and the iPadAir I could contact Apple direct, but I thought I'd try here first.

When I first started using my iMac, I started with an e-mail address that I could easily gain access to. Shortly after that, I learned what Facetime was an created an account using a different e-mail address. Is it possible to sync these two accounts? I would like to use one of these accounts for my Macbook.

My facetime was working fine until recently it asked for a login and this time when I did login with my Apple id, it prompted for email verification. However it is not able to complete the verification and keeps giving the following error message : Could not verify the email address. Please check your network connection and try again.
I have checked the support forums and they all point towards preferences. Problem is that the preferences option for face time is grayed out and I am not able to use them.Â

I've been trying to use my iMac Intel's Facetime but keep getting a "Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again" message.Â
Obviously, I'm in the internet but Facetime is not allowing me to sign - in for some reason.

I have an Intel iMac running under Lion 10.7.3. and cannot use FaceTime, which never worked anyhow, since it does not accept any of my 3 Apple ID's, which otherwise work perfectly fine. I uninstalled FaceTime assuming that there was a fault in it and tried to reinstall from the Apple Store, where it shows that I own a copy. But reinstall tells me that my OS X version is too new.
Info:iMac (24-inch Mid 2007), Mac OS X (10.7.3), FaceTime cannot be reinstalled
i have just bought a IMac 21.5 but my FaceTime is not working. i have a IPad 2 and IPhone 4 and they both work fine? ( it says that my network connection is not working properly but it is??:/

Is it possible to do group video chat in Facetime or does it only have one to one functionality?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy facetime keeps saying an internal error has occurred. Quit and reopen. When I do that and try to call a contact it just says face time failed.

I wonder if with regards to accessing FaceTime on multiple devices. We have a number of Mac products (iPad, iPhones and Mac Book Pro) at our house, all connected to one wireless network. Some of these devices can log into FaceTime but others cannot (notably the MacBook pro), using the same Apple ID details. The error message I get is that I should check my network connection. However, the connection is fine, and other devices have no problems with connecting to Facetime.

My Apple computer version 10.7.4 isn't sync'd up with my new I-Phone 4S Which I purchased lover the ast week sometime! I had iChat connected on my MacOX computer (version 10.7.4 ) before I bought the iphone last week... Now, when people dial me on iChat ...it rings on my cell phone and not my computer... How do I get it to ring on my computer too.Or if I can only use one device...I want it to ring on my computer!

I'm trying to dial into a conference bridge via Facetime on my iMac through my paired iPhone. I have no problems with regular calls this way but I can't get Facetime to make the correct tone through the # key. I've also tried Continuity Keypad and this doesn't work either. Is there a way to make the # key make the correct tone?

Why do I keep receiving a "Facetime Failed" when I call another Mac Air and know they are waiting? Both are new Airs, and this app worked two weeks ago.

When I use facetime, I can only call certain people. But some I cannot even call them but they can call me. Or we both can't call eachother.

I just saw a T-Mobile commercial where they practically dissed AT&T, but also dissed apple because they specifically mention the iPhone 4 not being able to make facetime calls without WiFi. All of these IPhone impersonators are making me sick! Does anybody know when this feature will be upgraded so I can shut all these apple haters up?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using a 20" white intel iMac and cannot manage to remove a linux boot disc from the optical drive. At first, the only way that i managed to boot to the linux disc in the first place was from the Startup Disk menu in OSX. I could not even get to the Startup Manager ('opt' at boot) or boot straight to the disc ('C').Now i'm in a position where no matter what i do, the system boots to the linux disc. I cannot even force the startup into OSX to try to eject the disc from there. I've tried holding all of these keys/combinations at startup
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been researching for a while on upgrading my white intel iMac from a "Core Duo" processor to a "Core 2 Duo" processor. The processor I would like to use is a Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile T5750 processor, which would give me 2 additional cores as well as a small speed bump from 1.83 ghz to 2.0 ghz. I figured compatibility should be fine considering the FSB speed (667 Mhz) is the same. Has anyone tried this? Can anyone tell me if this will work for sure?

View 21 Replies View RelatedI have an Intel IMAC, which is now out of warranty as I have had it for 16 months (and I was dumb enough not to get AppleCare). A few days back, my computer would not startup and everytime I hit the power button, I would hear some spinning noise but no chime from the iMAC. Yesterday, I tried it again and this time I heard the chime but the monitor did not start. I was then able to SSH into the MAC and see that it is indeed connected to the network and booted up, but the screen is still dead. Any ideas what I should do before the painful trip to the apple store ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am doing a presentation for a class thingy in technology about new media and i'm trying to express how when macintosh youtubers started uploading video blogs when they switched to intel/intel made iMacs and about this media blah blah blah. In the pic attached is that a iMac G5 or intel. I see spot light on the top right so it's either running tiger or leopard. I thought I saw a apple remote magnetic thingy on the side. Did the iMac g5 have one?
