I have this question about the MBA: on my MBP, the headphone jack allows me to use my iPhone headphones when skyping, i.e. it has input as well as output functionality. Does the MBA have the same feature?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've read around the forums a bit and found some discussion on connectivity for sending / receiving emails via Outlook. Is it true that POP3 support is not going to happen with Outloook for Mac 2011? I have been testing the software and am able to recieve emails from my Godaddy POP3 but can not send anything out.
Is there an email/calendar/notes client out there that is close to Outlooks functionality? I am a nub as this is my first Mac and would really like to know what else is out there that is comparable and combines the features mentioned earlier. So far I love the OS and the speed...My custom built PC has shut down for the last time.
it doesn't let me video chat on iMessages it says" this computer does not support video chats".

Do you think the new video input in the 27" iMac would be suitable for playing on the Xbox with or will there be any lag?
View 24 Replies View Related I am about to buy a 15 in. MBP and I'll be going on a trip soon. I was wondering if there was anything I could get that would let me both use my mac as a tv for my xbox and use a tv as an additional monitor.
Something that would have RCA input/output (the red, white, yellow cords) and would connect to my mac with USB or hopefully firewire 800 (express card 32 would work as well).
I have done a ton of searching and still haven't found the answer I am looking for (besides a possible future product by Belkin). It can't be as simple as a HDMI to MDP adaptor can it?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI know about the 27 inch and how it can is can use its mini display port as a video input. But I was wondering if you could use the 21.5 inch to do the same. From what I am reading its seems though that it can't, is there a hack of some sort that could do this. This would be a great 1080p screen to use instead of buying a brand new TV.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn the 2009 iMacs you were limited to a 720p resolution when you for example plugged your Ps3 to the iMac, even though the connector could show 1080p. Does anyone know if this is still the case on the new iMacs? And this is only possible to do on the 27" models, since they have video input.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just logged into iChat and noticed the green icon is only a telephone symbol, not the usual video.
So I go into Preferences > Audio/Video and the video preview is now a white box with the text, 'This computer does not support video chat'.
It's a brand new MacBook Pro, iChat has been working fine up to this point. I re-started and still the same message.
Does quicktime support flash video or flv format

Google has announced the intention to remove support for H.264 video playback from its Crome browser to "enable open innovation," yet still apparently plans to promote Adobe Flash. According to Google's product manager of Chrome Mike Jazayeri, the company will be "focusing our investments in those technologies that are developed and licensed based on open web principles," at least when it comes to WebM VP8 and Theora video codecs Google released after acquiring On2 last year. That effort excludes support for the ISO's MPEG 4 H.264 codec, which is commercially licensed by its pool of patent holders. Google is apparently not exercising the same principles when it comes to supporting Adobe Flash, which unlike H.264, is completely proprietary to one company rather than being administered by a standards body.

So, for the last two months my iMac (27", 2,7 GHz, mid 2011, 12 GB RAM, AMD Raderon HD 6770M 512MB, running OSX Lion 10.7.3) has started to freeze during games and from time to time during youtube videos or VLC. A reboot is required, but the problem usually comes back within 5 minutes or so.Â
The game I play is usually StarCraft 2, which worked fine for about 6 months before the freezes started. Most of the time the computer just freezes but sometimes the right side of the screen is moved to the left side and the left to the right. Then the freeze occurs, the screen turns grey with small vertical stripes on it. Graphics hardware problem?Â
No swaps of the screen occurs during the freezes when watching video but everything else is pretty much the same. After a few freezes the iMac refuses to reboot for a couple of hours.Â

I have a Power Mac G5 2.3Ghz dual-core system (M9591LL/A) with 2.5GBs of RAM and an Nvidia 6600 PCIe graphics card with 256MBs of RAM.
I tried playing a full-screen HD episode of "The Office" on Hulu.com and it was extremely choppy (like 0.5fps). The sound was fine. It's still quite choppy (~2fps) in a normal browser window (not full-screen)
Is this normal? Does this video card not support it? What is the most powerful card that can be installed in this machine? I'm not opposed to buying a PC card and flashing the ROM if need-be.
In prefs I've highlighted Line in, plugged in a mic, put input vol up but the nput level is still low
View 4 Replies View RelatedI use the Dvorak keyboard setup as my input source, and never change it. Recently my machine has started spontaneously switching back to the standard U.S. keyboard -- distracting, to say the least, when I suddenly get weird windows opening or gibberish appearing in documents. This has happened in both Mail and Mellel (a 3rd-party word processor) so far. I can't find anything about this problem in the forums; how to re-stabilize my choice, or how to investigate it further?

My external mike (Samson C01U, USB connection) isn't working; there's no input sound coming through. I'm certain it's not a hardware problem with the mike On preferences > sound, there's no sign of any input (with input volume level turned right up). Trying to record on Camtasia / Audacity / Quicktime also isn't giving any input.

Double click on that and when it opens you will see your hard drive (usually Macintosh HD) on the left. Highlight your hard drive and click on Verify Disk on the far right. If that is OK click on Repair Permissions on the left. If Verify Disk is not OK try to Repair. If Repair is successful then Repair Permissions if it is not successful let me know. But problem still remains.
