View 24 RepliesI have done a ton of searching and still haven't found the answer I am looking for (besides a possible future product by Belkin). It can't be as simple as a HDMI to MDP adaptor can it?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI know about the 27 inch and how it can is can use its mini display port as a video input. But I was wondering if you could use the 21.5 inch to do the same. From what I am reading its seems though that it can't, is there a hack of some sort that could do this. This would be a great 1080p screen to use instead of buying a brand new TV.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn the 2009 iMacs you were limited to a 720p resolution when you for example plugged your Ps3 to the iMac, even though the connector could show 1080p. Does anyone know if this is still the case on the new iMacs? And this is only possible to do on the 27" models, since they have video input.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble finding a free video converter. I wish to convert .mp4, .avi, etc to .wmv so I can watch them on my xbox and hopefully transfer them. I have tried a few converters most that just don't work or are 'trials' and are useless.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently using Vuze to stream movies on my MBP i7 to my Xbox 360. Well, lately its been creating rebuffing and etc making the video experience a bit dreadful. I am looking for a decent solution in converting my videos so I can throw them all on a drive and directly connect with my Xbox 360.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got quite a simple question about an MBP and an Xbox 360, which I'm sure some have asked and others have answered before, but I'm looking for a straight-forward response given the situation I find myself into. So I've got the two devices, and I'd like to use the MBP's display as a video output for the 360. What I've also got is a VGA adapter for the 360, so I could connect it to a monitor instead of a TV. So basically, is this achievable, and if it is, what else do I need, in case I need anything else? Sorry for the improper way of writing this message, but all I have is an HTC Desire, and I find it quite difficult to type very well.
View 2 Replies View Related I am about to buy a 15 in. MBP and I'll be going on a trip soon. I was wondering if there was anything I could get that would let me both use my mac as a tv for my xbox and use a tv as an additional monitor.
Something that would have RCA input/output (the red, white, yellow cords) and would connect to my mac with USB or hopefully firewire 800 (express card 32 would work as well).
Does the iMac 2011 27" support video input. So l can play my xbox on my iMac.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3)
I bought a mini displayport to vga adapter to connect my xbox 360 with vga output to my iMac as the woman at the apple store told me this would work, however I can't get it to work, and reading here it looks like I need a box thing...is this correct?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to figure out how to use my iMac as a monitor to play my 360 on. I think it has to do something with DVI cables, but I don't know how to do it or how it works. To the best of your knowledge, how do I set up an xbox to play on my monitor with DVI cables and whatever else I need?

Just reading the other post related to 27" input I have a question about connecting a G4 MDD that has a DVI output to a quad i5 or quad i7 iMac.
I need to connect the G4 since my kids have some games that still run in Classic mode and only have enough room for one monitor. Is there a cable that will allow me to use the iMac as a monitor for the G4?
I have an iMac 21.5 inch 3.06ghz 500gb Hard drive 4gb RAM got it a few days ago and was wondering was it possible to play my xbox, WiFi on it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedBasically need to know if there is a method of accessing the 360's HDD from an iMac (3.06GHz model) without using XSATA or xsata cables as, you know, there isn't a way to connect xsata cables to the iMac, as far as I know anyway.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've searched for hours upon hours trying to find solutions to my problem. I recently purchased the xbox 360 wireless adaptor hoping it would pick up the internet sharing I have coming from my imac, which is connected to a modem via ethernet cable. I send out the internet on my imac as I have 2 windows laptops and my iphone which all connect with no problems what so ever.
The xbox wireless adaptor will see my imacs network but just won't join. There are a few people around my neighborhood that have unsecured networks which the xbox wireless adaptor picks up and connects to no problem. I now want to try the apple usb to ethernet converter with my imac to see if I can connect the xbox 360's RJ-45 into either the apple to ethernet converter or the imacs ethernet port while still receiving the internet from my modem.
I was wondering if i could someone connect my xbox to my iMac i7 [10.6.3]
and be able to see my xbox screen on my Mac, basically replacing my TV but only to view my xbox.
Can I use an old iMac G5's 20' screen to play xbox 360 games?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an iMac from late 2006. Intel Core 2 Duo 17" monitor 1GB RAM 128MB video card I'm purchasing an xbox360 soon and I'm wondering if there's a way to use my iMac's display as the screen for the Xbox? It would really help since, I wouldn't have to buy a TV along with it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a early 2010 27" iMac with a mac mini port. Is there any way I can use it to watch cable tv, inputting it from a cable box. I have heard both yes and no.
I was told at the apple store that the Mac Mini port only exports and that the only way to watch TV on the iMac is through the Internet. Does anyone know for sure?
I plugged in a LG Flatron with a DVi cable and get this message. Nothing displays on the monitor.

I have read a few forums and walkthroughs where a lot of people, often everyone, eventually had sucess in connecting their XBox 360 to their mac and accessing Live. I have tried everything I can find to make this work. Here is what I have done:
I am running Leopard and using a Linksys Router. I began with the following:
On the iMac:
Ethernet Connection (manual)
IP: 10.0.0.1
Subnet: 255.255.255
Last, I tried using making the primary and secondary DNS addresses the same. Every time I have the same problem.... it fails when testing the DNS.
Having a bit of trouble getting Modern Warfare 2 running on Xbox live. My setup is: BT Home Hub 2.0 wirelessly supplying my iMac with connection. I then have a ethernet cable running from the iMac feeding the internet connection to power Xbox Live. Previously this has worked flawlessly until. I try and play Modern Warfare 2. Currently when in the game screen it tells me that my 'NAT type is STRICT'. This isn't the case on my PS3 which is wireless where my NAT type is OPEN.
View 2 Replies View RelatedToday I bought iMac 27-inch. Firstly I planned to buy 21.5 inch, but when I saw this 27-inch I decided to buy it. I've got Core 2 Duo version.
So, I wanna to connect my 360 to this iMac. I have Mini Display -> DVI adapter and than DVI -> HDMI adapter and the problem could be sound. DVI does not transmit any sound. So is there option to play sound from 360 on my iMac or via headphones? What if I connect stereo cables (into mini jack using adapter).
Here's my idea on a setup when I move into my garage. Xbox 360 connected to iMac 27" with a Kanex XD HDMI to Mini DisplayPort adaptor. A FreeView box also connected via HDMI though the Kanex XD adaptor using a HDMI switch. Or instead of the FreeView box I might get an EyeTV TV Tuner so I can use the new app to watch live tv on my iPhone.
Here's my other idea...
Mac Mini connected to my 42" Samsung HD monitor via HDMI
Xbox 360 also connected to the monitor with HDMI
A FreeView box also connected via HDMI to the monitor with a HDMI switch to change between the three.
I suppose it depends on screen size at the end of the day.
