MacBook Pro :: Finding Crumpler Bag Foldaway Desk Cooling Pad?
Sep 1, 2010Firstly I need a bag for it. I was reading through some posts here today with lots of suggestions on brands of bags. The ones that caught my eye were crumpler bags. Does anyone have any experience of these, are they of a decent quality and if so could you recommend one that would be suitable for the MBP 15"?
Secondly each weekend I will be taking this laptop to my boyfriend's house. We'd really like to play some games together but I need some way of setting it up in his hallway. Does anyone own anything like a fold-away laptop table/desk and know where I could find one? It would need to be smallish, just big enough for me to stand the laptop on and have a mouse plugged in. I'm not really sure such a thing exists and my google searches haven't turned up anything suitable but perhaps I'm searching on the wrong terms. The important bit is being able to fold it away after and stick it in a cupboard somewhere.

Jul 4, 2009I am about to get a new 13" MBP. I cannot decide between a Timbuk2 messenger bag, a Crumpler messenger bag or either a Booq backpack or Booq Nerve case. Does anyone have any experience with any of these? I am looking for a case that has enough pockets to keep all of my stuff in along with space for some files and/or book.

Since there are so many different types of notebook packpacks, I really want one that someone can recommend me. I want a backpack that is really safe for my mbp. For example, a backpack that can handle the notebook with books. The one I saw recently was the aftpack from speck. But I want to make sure If I can get something better than the aftpack, or not.

Sep 23, 2010Not bought my MBP just yet (waiting for credit card) but Im looking at a backpack to protect it.I need space for the essentials for the laptop (charger, mouse , ... ) and also room for at least a big water bottle (1.5 litres) and a lunch box as I like to take food to work and be very hydrated during the day :P . Does any one know of a back pack that could meet my demands?I want something with plenty of padding, looking to also consider actually getting a light weight cover for the laptop to protect it from scratches too..

I'm one of those people who like to buy things that are still made in America, and I've found two products that fulfill that.Chrome Backpacks and Colcasac Sleeves
Are these products worth the price premium? The reason I'm interested in the Chrome Backpacks is that they say they are weather proof (which is important for where I live) and extremely tough. Does anyone have experience with Chrome products? Also, I'm not sure which size to get. I'll probably need to fit in a text book, a macbook, and a few single subject notebooks.
Now onto the Colcasac products. Once again, does anyone have experience with this companies products? Do they offer nice protection? I'm open to suggestions so feel free to try and sell me on a particular company or item.

Jan 15, 2009I want to add some ram memory to a Mac Pro at my workplace. The Mac Pro came with 2 GB 800 MHZ. Do you think I can add this type of RAM to it? This is not ECC memory.
Also, I have red that in order for the Mac Pro to work properly needs to have all the ram sticks of the same quantity (1 Gb for example). Is this mandatory? Could I have 2 sticks of 2 GBs each and 2 of 1 GB each?

Dec 9, 2010Well the time has come to change the Hard Drive in my late 2009 MAcbook. Seems that 250GB got filled up much faster then I expected and I'm left with only 40 GB or so. With that I'd like to swap out to old drive for either a 320 or 500 GB one. but I"m not sure exactly which drive to buy and what exactly will fit. The advice from the members of this forum has been invaluable to me in the past so here I am again. What would you all recommend?

Dec 30, 2010When my mac boots there is a loading bar underneath the apple, it doesnt take that long, but It is a brand new hard drive that apple just replaced, none of the disk repairs/verifications worked. If I replaced the hard drive with another SATA would that solve the problem? I have a 1tb that I am waiting to install because i think my computer might be frying hard drives.

Feb 7, 2009I'm new to the forums and to macs. I'm having serious video card issues and everything I've read on the subject suggests that the card has heat sink issues and that a new card is required. I'm out of warranty and was just wondering if I had to go through the apple site to purchase a new card or could I just figure out what models are compatible with my mac and purchase one from a retailer or ebay?
The card I'm using now is ATI Radeon X1900 XT and is PCIe bus. I'm using Mac OS X 10.4.11 and I have a mac pro that I purchased in 2007.
