Applications :: Finding Best Trip Planner For OS X
Apr 10, 2010I am planning a trip to Italy in July and I'm looking for an app which I can use to plot the locations of everywhere I want to go and plan the best possible route to view them all. I will be staying in one place for the majority of the two weeks I'm there but will be looking to stay at the odd hotel when I'm visiting the north of Italy.
Once I've decided where I want to view, and when. I want to be able to create itineraries which will contain details of the place I'm visiting (mainly the address, distance and time, so I can't easily input the details into my sat nav and don't have to rely on having an internet connection whilst out there.

May 27, 2010I'm still looking for a lesson planner software on my MAC. I've been using iCal, but long entries (events) and printing are difficult to work with. I was going to try Entourage, but been told it won't be in the next version of Office 4 MAC.

Aug 10, 2010Are there any teachers who use the iWork software (Pages, Numbers) as a lesson planner? I'm thinking of switching from iCal (will keep it only for scheduling and alerts, as it is meant to do) since it's not very convenient to enter a lot of text in an event. Still have 2 weeks left before school, and I'd like to create a Planner with the iWork applications - and then the beautiful iPad comes in.

Jan 15, 2009I want to add some ram memory to a Mac Pro at my workplace. The Mac Pro came with 2 GB 800 MHZ. Do you think I can add this type of RAM to it? This is not ECC memory.
Also, I have red that in order for the Mac Pro to work properly needs to have all the ram sticks of the same quantity (1 Gb for example). Is this mandatory? Could I have 2 sticks of 2 GBs each and 2 of 1 GB each?

Dec 9, 2010Well the time has come to change the Hard Drive in my late 2009 MAcbook. Seems that 250GB got filled up much faster then I expected and I'm left with only 40 GB or so. With that I'd like to swap out to old drive for either a 320 or 500 GB one. but I"m not sure exactly which drive to buy and what exactly will fit. The advice from the members of this forum has been invaluable to me in the past so here I am again. What would you all recommend?

Dec 30, 2010When my mac boots there is a loading bar underneath the apple, it doesnt take that long, but It is a brand new hard drive that apple just replaced, none of the disk repairs/verifications worked. If I replaced the hard drive with another SATA would that solve the problem? I have a 1tb that I am waiting to install because i think my computer might be frying hard drives.

Oct 23, 2008have any macbook air owners here found that 2GB ram is inadequate for their needs?I'm thinking it should be fine for me now, but i'm just worried say 2 years down the road if the 2GB ram will be enough, since ram is not upgradeable on the MBA.
i know the MBA is the machine I want, but i'm afraid of spending 2500 on a notebook which isn't very futureproof.

Feb 7, 2009I'm new to the forums and to macs. I'm having serious video card issues and everything I've read on the subject suggests that the card has heat sink issues and that a new card is required. I'm out of warranty and was just wondering if I had to go through the apple site to purchase a new card or could I just figure out what models are compatible with my mac and purchase one from a retailer or ebay?
The card I'm using now is ATI Radeon X1900 XT and is PCIe bus. I'm using Mac OS X 10.4.11 and I have a mac pro that I purchased in 2007.

Jun 16, 2009After the WWDC keynote where Apple officially put PPC out to pasture, I began wondering what they would do about PPC software and applications. Specifically, if Apple is now officially supporting only Intel machines with 10.6, would it abandon Rosetta as well, thus requiring all 10.6 users to abandon apps that are not universal binary/Intel only apps?
This becomes an issue for a significant segment of the user base (including me) who still use MS Office for Mac 2004 and do not want to upgrade to 2008 for a variety of reasons including use of macros, VBA, cost, UI preference, etc. If Apple abandons Rosetta, I either have to upgrade to Office 2008 or I cannot install 10.6.
