View 10 RepliesUPDATE EDIT: took proper pictures this time around while I had the free time.. Corners are very vulnerable to exorbitant damage costs (my case costs over $800). Be careful. The best way to protect would be a full on plastic cover, but that doubles the weight and size = Normal side; I put a cheapo $10 cover on it and it's still got bubbles I've got to push out or pin out, so excuse those.

I'm one of those people who like to buy things that are still made in America, and I've found two products that fulfill that.Chrome Backpacks and Colcasac Sleeves
Are these products worth the price premium? The reason I'm interested in the Chrome Backpacks is that they say they are weather proof (which is important for where I live) and extremely tough. Does anyone have experience with Chrome products? Also, I'm not sure which size to get. I'll probably need to fit in a text book, a macbook, and a few single subject notebooks.
Now onto the Colcasac products. Once again, does anyone have experience with this companies products? Do they offer nice protection? I'm open to suggestions so feel free to try and sell me on a particular company or item.
I searched the forums and came up with nada, so I thought I'd ask. Has anyone taken advantage of Microsoft Ultimate Steal to buy Office 2007 Ultimate? If so, it is the full version and not the upgrades correct? I just want to make sure before I invest. I have iWork, but need to be able to work w/Office in my Windows 7 Bootcamp partition.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a 15.4� MacBook Pro and am looking for a smart briefcase for my machine. I travel on work frequently and most of my trips are overnight. I would ideally like something that can be expanded, if necessary, to accommodate a pair of clothes. Also, I want to spend minimum time at airport security and want my briefcase to be TSA checkpoint friendly guidelines compliant. Needless to say, it should have lots of pockets to organize my files, power cord, USB drive, business cards, headphones, etc. Does anyone know of a good quality luggage manufacturer that makes such expandable briefs? I don�t mind spending money for a high quality product and a customer service to match.

Since there are so many different types of notebook packpacks, I really want one that someone can recommend me. I want a backpack that is really safe for my mbp. I understand the software used to work with Os 9 but in my system it works with OS X. The problem is the software was using an hp laserjet 2100 series and right now I don't have that printer. I now have a hp laserjet p1500 series. The software does not recognize these printer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I export my project in Motion 5.1 using the default setting for Render: Color + Alpha, Premultiply alpha checked, and the rest of the setting set for "Use canvas setting" and the co-dec Pro Res 422 (HQ), the colors I see on the canvas come out as wash out looking in the exported video. Deep reds come out as light pink. I tried setting the project background (black) as solid instead of transparent thinking that that was the issue but there was no difference. I tried different co-decs and settings in the options before export without any luck.

My immediate issue is that I have been editing fine this morning and then all of a sudden I could hear the audio for my clips but I can't see the footage in the viewer or the canvas. I can double clip on each clip individually and see what the footage is however. I've shut my computer down a few times and its not fixing itself. Also a lot lately when I sit down to do some editing the footage flickers on one clip and wont proceed to the next clips footage but I can still hear the sound.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSuddenly Safari either is very slow to load or doesn't load some pages at all. I have tracked it down to be pages containing html5 canvas element.
This happens only on iMac and Macbook Air. It doesn't happen on iPad nor on Safari on a Pc. It will happen on the Mac computer both when the pages are out on the internet and when the pages ar locally stored. It's driving me absolutely mad!
I've tried emptying cache both through Safari menu and by removing Safari's Cache.db, I've reset Safari preferences, restarted, and changed DNS to Open DNS (though it seems strange it should be an issue since the problem also occurs when I run the site on localhost). Â
If I open the page directly entering the url in the adressbar it works fine, it is when I try to access it from a link on another page on the site it doesn't load. If I press reload it will load fine. The link from other pages can be either an html <a href="url"> tag or javascript window.location or window.location.href neither works. The weird thing is it worked fine until just yesterday. And it works fine on every other machine except the Macintoshes.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSoon i will be getting a Mac(i think) and was wondering about a case. Since i want a Macbook Pro with the Unibody Housing i want it to be safe. Now i can't decide if i want a case or a Sleeve. Now the Case might have heat issues even with the vents that are on the case. The sleeve won't have that issue but will it be more prone to scratching the Macbook it self? Or should i go no case and just sorta deal with the scratches. There is a Price difference between the Sleeve and the Case. About $20 Cdn more for the Case.

I installed windows 7 ultimate 64 bit on my macbook pro i7 (15in). I then installed the drivers for boot camp 3.0 from the DVD (snow leopard). I subsequently downloaded 3.1 drivers and installed them.
Unfortunately, I don't have wireless working.

I'm considering whether to buy a 13" base model (except 4gb RAM) or a 13" ultimate (2.13/4/256), which is stocked by my local Apple Store. The base model would be fine for what I do now (Pages, Safari, Mail, Skype, Netflix streaming). But I'm thinking of getting into video editing in the next year. A reviewer on Amazon wrote this about the 13" base model with 2gb RAM: "I've edited HD video on the unit (no problems), (though exporting is obviously much slower than on my imac, as to be expected, but editing and working on the footage was pretty much the same, it's only in exporting where you realize the machine is slower). If you do a lot of video work, or you render out animations a lot, you can use this machine to do your work, and your desktop to handle the heavy processing. Just store your files on a usb flash drive and xfer to your desktop to handle the render. I plan [more tests with] iphoto and imovie, (I want to try out the new features) as well as my regular workflow (lightroom / cs5) and final cut.".....

-Sony Vaio AW (with the 18 inch screen).
I watch movies in abundance. My film and music libraries are about 500GB. I also enjoy taking and editing movies and pictures. Weight is not an issue. I would be very thankful if you can help me choose which of these LTs is the most enjoyable. I'm going to Grad School in France next September. My laptop should be my main source of entertainment.
