View 3 RepliesI friend made home DVD for us but must have burnt it wrong as it just opens up the TS folders.
I thought that I could copy the files and then burn the DVD again correctly so that it plays right on a DVD player.
Okay, so I have a movie on my PC in AVI format. It plays fine, no problems. When I put it on my USB, then open it on my Macbook, it only plays about the first 20 seconds. It shows that as being the whole video. I have done this plenty of times before, and never had a problem.

Our kids only have a PC, so will the DVD I created on my iMac play on their computer? Do they need any special program installed?
I have a strange problem that I cannot solve. I have a couple of avi DiVX movies that I created for my son to watch but I have done them on Mac and if I copy them to the external HDD directly from Mac, my Popcorn Hour NMT A-110 does not play them until I simply copy the file to a PC hard drive and then back to that HDD. This drive HDD is NTFS and write to the drive via Paragon NTFS driver. I am curious what happens during a file copy from that hard drive to a PC and back that somehow unlocks the file and makes it playable. Any ideas? Is it a paragon driver?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI ripped a DVD which has 5 episodes of a TV series, as well as the special features, using MacTheRipper. I now have a folder with two folders named 'Audio_TS' and 'Video_TS'. The Video one has a bunch of IFO, VOB and FUB files, and the Audio has nothing in it.
How do I add it to iTunes so that I can watch it there, and what would I have to do if I wanted to burn it to a disc?
The DVD's I am making in DVD Studio pro aren't playable on PC's or DVD players, is there any reason for this? As far as I can tell I'm not doing anything differently this time as I do usually, and this is the first time

I have a film that I need to burn to a DVD but seems like I'm having issues with it playing in numerous DVD players. It will play on friends' Mac computers but not on DVD players. I'm thinking it may be a codec issue, but I may be wrong.
I edited the film using Final Cut Pro X on my iMac 2012 model and I do not have an external rewritable disc drive. I exported the master file from Final Cut and copied the file to a flash drive, copied to my PC desktop, then proceeded to burn the file to a DVD-R using Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate on my PC.
Is there a better, absolute way to burn my film to a DVD to insure it WILL play on all DVD devices?
Recently, I have been trying to convert a movie I took to an iPod playable format. It is already .mp4, but iTunes will not add it to my library. When I try to convert it in Handbrake, the audio is just a constant drone, but video is fine. It will open in Quicktime, but I get an error when I try to convert the file through Quicktime.

Early on after I got this G4, I messed with the settings in iTunes some and the first time I burned a disk and tried to play it in my car, it would not play. I burned about 10 different disks using 10 different settings (although I don't remember the particulars now). Never could get any of them to play. I have iTunes 9 and I wonder if anyone can tell me if it's possible to go back to default settings, or change the settings so disks will play on any standard car CD player? I just don't have the knowledge to do.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have many videos that I have downloaded, ripped, and captured overtime. Some of which I would like to be able to burn to a DVD for personal use or to give to family and friends. My problem comes when trying to burn a certain video file formats to a DVD, one especially that will playback on a standard DVD player. The types of files I am interested in converting to DVD-playable are: .m2ts, .avi, .mp4, .mpeg, .mkv. Again, I would like to convert these movies, then burn them to a DVD to easily watch them on my home theater system's DVD player. So I beg the question, "Is this all possible?", "What file formats are commonly used to play from DVDs on a DVD player?" and "Are there any freeware based applications to get this job done?"
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Panasonic Lumix DMC-Zs7, & I am reading about it's video formats. It shoots AVCHD lite movies and motion jpg movies. I would like to be able to burn these raw movie files unedited to blank DVDs, so my family can view them right away, in the excitement of filming, they are eager to see the results. They do not like to wait for me to do the complex & tedious process of video editing with titles etc, to play. Being able to just burn the raw files for immediate viewing relives me of the burden of complex video editing, of which I do not enjoy very much, & makes family happy, to get the video out of the camera to the DVD player & TV. We have a Philips DVD player that says it can play Divx movies, & an analog tube TV.
So is there a quick painless way that I can get the raw files out of the camera and onto DVD for viewing on a TV. Or is the raw material only viewable on the camera & computer? If the only way to get this material to DVD is by complex video editing, I could be stuck editing literally hours of footage that my family likes to film, they have the film bug, & like to film everything.
I'm able to make DVDs from iPhoto or IMovie & I've mastered IDVD's Menus pretty well. The DVDs play ok in DVD players to that's a plus. Now, what I want to do is somehow put folders of photos .... mainly those I've used in the slideshows...... if possible, on the same DVD. The idea is I can gift a DVD with a video/slideshow & if the recipient wants the photos they can insert DVD disc into their own computer (not necessarily Apple) & download the photos.

I want to add some ram memory to a Mac Pro at my workplace. The Mac Pro came with 2 GB 800 MHZ. Do you think I can add this type of RAM to it? This is not ECC memory.
Also, I have red that in order for the Mac Pro to work properly needs to have all the ram sticks of the same quantity (1 Gb for example). Is this mandatory? Could I have 2 sticks of 2 GBs each and 2 of 1 GB each?
I'm tired of running iTunes off an external and it being all laggy. I want to substitute the 160 GB HDD inside my late '09 mini with a 1 TB drive.

Well the time has come to change the Hard Drive in my late 2009 MAcbook. Seems that 250GB got filled up much faster then I expected and I'm left with only 40 GB or so. With that I'd like to swap out to old drive for either a 320 or 500 GB one. but I"m not sure exactly which drive to buy and what exactly will fit. The advice from the members of this forum has been invaluable to me in the past so here I am again. What would you all recommend?
