Has anybody setup the epson workforce 610 wirelessly with their new imac? I assumed this would be an easy bluetooth setup but its not working. Do I have to hook the printer up my airport?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased an Epson Workforce 4530 all in one printer. Using this machine, so far, is less than an all in one experience with OS Lion. I seem to be unable to fax from my computer, and scanning from the computer via wifi connection requires I use Image Capture, rather than the Epson software. Using Image Capture to scan multipage documents is less than desirable as it scans each page as an individual image/file.

I just got the Epson workforce 615 and after hours of trying to connect this printer to my airport I give up....
Does anyone have step by step instructions on how to do this?It just does not want to connect to my airport network no matter what I do. I have downloaded all the drivers/software off the epson site to no avail.
I purchased an Epson Stylus NX530 printer with wireless capability. I have a MacBook Pro running OSX v10.7. My printer is installed and works as expected when connected via USB cord but printer shows up offline when USB is disconnected. I connected my printer to my wireless network through my router (entering name of connection and passcode) and enabled the sharing capabiliy in System Preferences. So my setup is that I connected my MacBook to my router and my printer to the router. Is there anything else I am missing? Would connecting both the computer and printer to the wireless router be all I shoud need to do to be able to print wirelessly? Is my wirelss router considered my "network?" If my printer has a wireless internet connection, should I be able to "view" it anywhere on my MacBook other than printer settings when it is not connected via USB (I had to initially connect my computer via USB to the printer during setup).

The thing is my girlfriend uses my other 2 dell laptops mainly for school while I use my iMac for school. All of these computers are on the same network and are scattered around my house.
So being in school we need to print out a lot of documentation and wanted to just have the printer setup wirelessly. I have a modem w/ the wired/wireless router, and all my computers have internal wireless cards.
After I installed Epson Printer software version 2.1 and I totally lost the communication to Epson V700 Scaner, the scanner keep reset the power.
Finally the error message: Cannot communicate with the scanner.

I'm purchasing a new iMac intel core2 duo and want to connect it and my G4 500MHz Power Mac tower and 550Mhz PowerBook wirelessly to the internet. I have Cable modem at the front of my house and will put the iMac in a different room about 10m away. I have my G4 tower separate from the house about 40m away and my PowerBook won't be more than 10m from the modem. I am purchasing a 500GB Time Capsule to act as a wireless router and as an external hard drive for the iMac. How do I, or can I, connect the other two macs to the internet wirelessly?
The advice 1: iMac is fine.
G4 Tower_install an airport express card (802.11n) and insert where the old card should go. It should connect to internet wirelessly.

Since updating my iMac to Yosemite I can no longer connect wirelessly to my Canon Pixma 5250 printer. Support Code: 300 pops up on the screen asking me to make sure the printer is properly plugged in. The software for the printer was updated automatically 2 days ago.

Yesterday I purchased my first ever iMac (OS X 10.9.4 - Mavericks I believe).
I'm trying to connect my HP Photosmart C7280 printer to work wirelessly but can't seem to work out how to do it.
When I connect via a USB the printer is recognised in Printers & Scanners, when I remove the USB the printer disappears.
My Mac and printer are both connected to the same wireless network (which we get through Virgin Media) - although my printer displays "no link" for IP address, don't know if this is relevant.
I have tried resetting print system, I have downloaded all Apple system updates, I have downloaded the latest driver I could find from the HP site (although this might have been unnecessary).
One factor that may be significant is that when I view the printer details (when connected via USB) I see the Mac's name, the printer model and the status but I don't see any reference to a Driver, which from what I've read, I feel I should be seeing.
I've also read reference to clicking "use" in a drop-down menu but from the details I see in the printer pane/dialogue box? I cannot see "use" anywhere or any other drop-down menus.
by the way, the printer always worked perfectly well wirelessly when connected to a Windows laptop on the same network,

Waiting for printer to become available... and nothing happens. I need to be able to print!

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm going to install a 120gb SSD in my 27" iMac core i7. Currently I have a 2TB Hitatchi drive installed. I would like to install OSX as well as all my apps on the SSD and then keep all my user files on the 2TB drive. I'm trying to figure out the best way to get this set up once I install the SSD.
Right now I have all data, apps and OSX on the 2TB drive. Here's what I'd like to do. Once I install my SSD I'm going to do a fresh install of OSX and my apps. Then I'd like to remove OSX and apps from my 2TB drive and only keep my user files on it. My questions are ...
1. What's the best way to remove OSX from my 2TB drive? Do I have to erase the disc and then load all my user files once its been erased.
2. Also, is it ok if I keep OSX and all my apps on the 2B drive as well as my user files but still boot from the SSD? I would only be accessing my user files on the 2TB drive but wonder if I can still keep the OS and apps installed at the same time. Assuming I could but it would kind of be a waste of space, right?
3. Once I get both SSD and 2TB drive set up how I want them, I need to regularly back both of them up using CCC. I have a 3TB external drive that I backup to. Will I need to create 2 partitions on it, one for the SSD and one for the 2TB? I would like the SSD partition to be bootable incase the drive ever fails I wont miss a beat. I'm assuming to back both of them up I would need to create separate partitions on my external drive, one for the SSD and one for the 2TB.
I currently have a Netgear DGN2000 router connected to a PC running Windows XP. Tomorrow my new iMac is arriving, and it will replace this PC.
How do I set up the router on the iMac? Is it as simple as plugging it in or will there be settings that need changing or anything?

Here's the deal - I have a baby at home (which means tons of pictures and video) and I wanted to figure out a way to best set up my gear to get the most out of it. My question relates to memory configuration. If I buy it with the minimum 4 gig, I think that's 2 2 gig modules. Can I buy two third party (OWC or Crucial) 4 gig modules and add them, giving me a total of 12 gig, or would have to get rid of the original 2 2 gig parts? If it's possible to mix the 4 gig pairs with the 2 gigs, will there be any negative performance issues related to that? If I can mix them, do I need to worry about who I buy the 4 gig parts from? Lastly, any positive or negative comments on OWC or Crucial (or other suggestions) for memory in general?

I have recently moved from windows to the iMac and will be moving all of my photos. I do just casual, family photos and landscapes etc. Nothing professional. I have purchased Aperture for cataloging and to make it easier to find things as well as editing. There are probably experts on this out there so I am asking for recommendations on how to set things up. I used Adobe PhotoShop Elements which had an excellent tagging system, but want to move to Aperture for this.

Using the digital line-out from the processor I tried to connect to iMac using a 3.5mm stereo cable. However, when trying to set up a track in Garageband I could not get an input signal. In the MIDI/Audio app I have set input and output devices to built-in devices, and in sound preferences I have set the track to receive from the line-in jack. I messed around in Garageband with all the input options for the audio track but I still couldn't register a signal, yet my processor LED meter shows it's outputting fine. Do I need a special cable or something? I can't understand why this topic isn't fully addressed in the supporting literature for Garageband or Logic or in the iMac OM.
