Unable to use facetime application with my Mac Air.
Info:MacBook Air
After upgrading my Mac to Yosemite FaceTime application is not opening at all. What is my plan of action?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy facetime was working fine until recently it asked for a login and this time when I did login with my Apple id, it prompted for email verification. However it is not able to complete the verification and keeps giving the following error message : Could not verify the email address. Please check your network connection and try again.
I have checked the support forums and they all point towards preferences. Problem is that the preferences option for face time is grayed out and I am not able to use them.

I have previously been able to use FaceTime and Photo Booth on my Macbook Pro, however I tried to use FaceTime a few days ago and it tells me there is "no camera connected". To be clear I have never used an external camera, I have only every used the iSight that is built into my laptop. This problem is not application specific nor is it user specific. I haven't dropped my laptop or done anything to it physically that I can think would have hurt the laptops camera. Does anyone know how I can fix it and get the camera back?

Is it possible to do group video chat in Facetime or does it only have one to one functionality?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy facetime keeps saying an internal error has occurred. Quit and reopen. When I do that and try to call a contact it just says face time failed.

I wonder if with regards to accessing FaceTime on multiple devices. We have a number of Mac products (iPad, iPhones and Mac Book Pro) at our house, all connected to one wireless network. Some of these devices can log into FaceTime but others cannot (notably the MacBook pro), using the same Apple ID details. The error message I get is that I should check my network connection. However, the connection is fine, and other devices have no problems with connecting to Facetime.

so here's my problem- when I installed Snow Leopard recently, I opted to not include X11 as one of the "optional" components, and now I am unable to run one of my old occasional-use applications (assuming this is because I don't have X11 available). what I need to know is whether it is possible to simply add that onto my current SL install or if I need to do a complete re-install in order to gain access to the additional components again.

I am connected to the internet via a belkin N+ router..... this is in turn connected to an adsl modem...I am having no problems with the signal to the router but at least four times a day my internet disappears....
When I run Network Diagnostics hey presto, your internet is working fine....The only things I have changed recently was that as I am running osx 10.4.11 I was having that issue where you couldn't access Network in sys pref, it kept saying "your settings have been changed by another application", I found a solution on here whereby you delete the plist prefs and rebuild them... That worked a charm but now I'm wondering is this connected in some way....
or...
I got software from the makers of the belkin N+ wireless usb dongle chip that came with my router (belkin don't provide osx support but said that I could get a utility from the chip makers) I installed this but it never worked so uninstalled it, and ran disk utility and safe boot and pram and fsck (everything I could think of)
I only have one location in network, and airport is the only active network port
any ideas...????

Supposedly, the external is in use and cannot be ejected, but i don't think it's in use. I've only recently been encountering this problem, and i have no idea why. I've tried quitting every application, but it still claims to be in use.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've got an issue with iPhoto. Whenever I open it, a window opens asking if I want iPhoto to open every time I attach a digital camera, then the rest of iPhoto opens and the application freezes, and I am unable to click anything.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have some software such as mail, text edit running and suddenly it stop responding. The mouse cursor keep on spinning for a long time. What you normally do is hit Option + Command + Esc to force quit the software. After i've done so. The software crashed and ask you to send in the crashed report and everything else is very normal. But the software dint actually quite. i can still see a small indication (at the dock) below the icon that the software still running and when i hit Option + Command + Esc again. I still can see the software in the force quite dialog, it doesn't report it as stop responding. When i check the Activity Monitor, there is nothing there.

Having trouble accessing the App Store. I don't have the App Store Icon in my dock nor can I find it in the applications folder. I tried installing the Lion 10.7.3 update. It's been a few months since I've compiled the HandBrake SVN and I thought I'd give it a try after hearing some good things after the recent improvements. However, I've been unable to actually compile a working application. Like before, I followed the steps listed here. I know pretty much nothing about terminal, so maybe I'm doing something wrong in the process. I've tried using RapidSVN and Terminal to checkout the SVN, but neither seems to work. After navigating to the folder, I type "make" into terminal. Previously, it would take a few minutes to compile the application. However, now terminal just responds with "make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop."

-FR 30
-Limit:2500 KBs
-Key Frame Every 30

My MacBook Pro will not open any app or program that requires Internet, even though I am connected to the web. I recently installed Norton AntiVirus and think it may have changed a setting that I couldn't find. I uninstalled Norton and it didn't help. Every time I open Safari, iTunes or any other program that tries to connect to the Internet, it crashes. Strangely enough, Skype still works, but nothing else. I have OSx 10.6.8. I have tried erasing plists, and all the standard troubleshooting, ie resetting modem, restarting computer, reloading Safari from disk.
