I have just purchased a 13" Mac book pro. I was under the impression that my mac would already have OS X Lion installed, but in my app store it said I needed to purcahse it. Is this correct?

i was going from Tiger to Leopard on a G5 desktop. I was having some trouble, and someone at apple advised me to do an archive and install without preserving my network settings. Leopard is installed, I've gotten all my documents back, but I can't find my calendar, address book or web bookmarks.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi've been keeping all of my .ttf files but since i kept downloading new font, i find it a bit annoying to keep and manage it all. so i wonder if i can delete .ttf files after i installed it in font book. or will it gonna make the fonts crush if i deleted it ?

Anybody have the 12WX working correctly with lion with no previous wacom installed? hooked it up right away with no problems on a leopard mac pro. had working windows xp on virtual machine no problems.with imac lion, would not run the install drivers from disk (PPC). so installed the latest 6.2 driver and a bamboo intuos 3 driver as recomended by wacom. installed driver for pen. the bamboo driver worked for a day or so ( with no option keys working), but had 4 point calibration unlike the two point from leopard install.now, neither are recognizing a tablet connection, only works as monitor. uninstalled. tried an older driver 6.15. ran fix disk permissions, reset pram. restarted(+++). dis and re connected. reinstalled again and again. still no luck getting it running on a new mid 2011 imac with lion.

I have a Mini Server, 10.7.3. 8GB, SSD 256, use it for FCPX mostly. Just moved all datafiles to external disks and re-installed Lion, but now I cannot access my user account. When I started up the system after it had installed, it asked me for company name and email address, but then I cannot access my user account any more.
Do I need to re-install the system again, or how can I solve this? I don't remember what email address I used originally when I got the server and registered it, whether it was my personal or the business address, which I gave this time.
I do remember the login name and password that I have always used, but these don't work anymore and I have too many jobs pending this week.

I signed in with my apple ID on his Laptop and installed Lion and then signed out and again signed back in with his ID. He is not being able to download updates as an error message pops out showcasing that it is not authorised. Will it be persistent?

I just installed Lion and now all of all the fonts that I have in my Library>Fonts folder, only about 1/3 are showing when I launch apps such as Illustrator or Motion. They are normal fonts, like Avenir, not crazy fonts that I downloaded for free. They are there, yet not showing in the font menus of the applications.

Dear all, i installed the latest lion on my computer (imac) and the safari program has disapeared, so i find safari in my applications and it says this safari does not work as not working on this operating system, and it appears this username does not have the latest lion on it? weird, all weird. View 6 Replies View RelatedInstalled a new 750GB drive into my MacBookPro 5.1 Couldn't get Winclone to make image so I was forced to start from scratch with a new XP installation.
My MBP is partitioned 25%Mac & 75%XP with bootcamp and I have the old drive in a enclosure connected with a firewire. So all of old files are on the external drive now.
After installing XP I have no internet connection, drivers etc... However if I boot up on the mac side everything works fine. (I cloned the mac os already with Carbon copy).
So can I just copy all my old drivers over to the new drive? If yes how and if no how do I get them installed on the new harddrive. The MBP came with everything preinstalled.
I just installed mac os x 10.7.3 update from software update and when i rebooted my mac the wifi didnt come up. I clicked on it and it said no hardware installed. So i went onto the recovery HD and tried the wifi there and it worked! how can i get the wifi to work on my regular login because the wifi card is still good and if it works in recovery HD mode it should work in regular mode
