Front Row :: Make Front Row Work On Lion?
Feb 10, 2012I upgraded to Lion and sadly, Front Row is not supported. I somehow found the Front Row app in my systems folder and moved it to my Applications folder. Front Row now shows up in my applications folder, as well as Launchpad. However, when I go into Front Row, it does not recognize any of my media from iTunes. I tried out this website: [URL]..blog/frontrowenablerforlion to no avail. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how to make Front Row work in OS X Lion.

Jan 3, 2011I have a macbook pro that is just a few weeks old. It came with a 500GB disk, exchanged it to a 120GB SSD disk. I installed OSX and windows and it worked fine for a few weeks. Then I burned an ubuntu 10 x86 cd. I shut the machine down and was going from windows to osx so I had the alt button pressed down while starting the machine. It took a while, but after that I got a folder with a question mark. I booted with a windows cd in, and it never reaches anything, just loading windows and freeze.
I booted ubuntu with the cd I burned and it finds a disk but sais its unparitioned. I have booted osx installation dvd and it also finds the disk but sais its unpartitioned. Repair drive is grayed out. I'm a windows admin and know my way around windows, I have just worked with mac for a few weeks so I am not familiar what I can do and what repair tools there is for the mac filesystems.

Dec 8, 2014Some weeks ago, I installed OS X Yosemite, as shown on my App Store, that was a "System Update available for my IMac 2009". Followed all the steps, normally and installed it as I did many other times ago (with the Maverick, Mountain Lion, OS X).
Just after the installation, I noticed that every single folder or program that depends on "Apple", stopped working.
Examples: Office package opens normally, so as Firefox. But, IPhoto, ITunes, Safari and App Store itself do not.
When trying to reinstall Yosemite or return to the one I had before, using App Store became impossible. Even the "Apple Icon" on the top left corner does not work. I click, it flashes, just IF it was ready to open, but nothing happens, seams that have something stopping the "loading process" of the software.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: AFP Appending In Front Of Command+K?
Jan 31, 2012I have a client who just got a new MBP, so today was the first day he had it on the all windows network.There's shares on a 2008 R2 server that, on my identical MBP model, I can map just fine with command+K, using smb://servername or smb://ipaddress Both work fine for me, and prompt me for credentials.
Oh his new one though, it bombs. In the connection box after you hit return, instead of showing "connecting to smb://blahblah" it shows "connecting to afp://smb://blahblah" For some reason, even though I am manually specifying SMB:// as the target, it still prepends AFP:// in front of that AFTER we try to connect.
Only thing I've found all morning searching is someone who told another user having a similar issue to use lower case, not upper case. Since we were already using lower case, not helping, and using upper case made no difference either.
What can I do to kill this AFP:// automatically putting itself in front of the SMB:// As I said, 2008R2 server and windows AD netwtork, neither mac is part of the domain. Just using passthrough authentication (which worked fine on his previous model Core2 Duo MBP and still works fine on my 2011 15" quad core i7 MBP with current Lion).
What's really frustrating is I hit this once before a few years ago when I first switched from a PC based laptop to my first MBP, and while I found an answer quickly back then, this time I'm not finding the answer anywhere.

Apr 1, 2012Anybody have the 12WX working correctly with lion with no previous wacom installed? hooked it up right away with no problems on a leopard mac pro. had working windows xp on virtual machine no problems.with imac lion, would not run the install drivers from disk (PPC). so installed the latest 6.2 driver and a bamboo intuos 3 driver as recomended by wacom. installed driver for pen. the bamboo driver worked for a day or so ( with no option keys working), but had 4 point calibration unlike the two point from leopard install.now, neither are recognizing a tablet connection, only works as monitor. uninstalled. tried an older driver 6.15. ran fix disk permissions, reset pram. restarted(+++). dis and re connected. reinstalled again and again. still no luck getting it running on a new mid 2011 imac with lion.

Mar 25, 2012I have a Mini Server, 10.7.3. 8GB, SSD 256, use it for FCPX mostly. Just moved all datafiles to external disks and re-installed Lion, but now I cannot access my user account. When I started up the system after it had installed, it asked me for company name and email address, but then I cannot access my user account any more.
Do I need to re-install the system again, or how can I solve this? I don't remember what email address I used originally when I got the server and registered it, whether it was my personal or the business address, which I gave this time.
I do remember the login name and password that I have always used, but these don't work anymore and I have too many jobs pending this week.

Feb 28, 2012I just installed Lion and now all of all the fonts that I have in my Library>Fonts folder, only about 1/3 are showing when I launch apps such as Illustrator or Motion. They are normal fonts, like Avenir, not crazy fonts that I downloaded for free. They are there, yet not showing in the font menus of the applications.
