OS X V10.7 Lion :: Safari Not Installed On All Users?

Dear all, i installed the latest lion on my computer (imac) and the safari program has disapeared, so i find safari in my applications and it says this safari does not work as not working on this operating system, and it appears this username does not have the latest lion on it? weird, all weird. Oh and so fed up with my trackpad not working with my computer and costant re-sync needed i decided to smash it to bits with a hammer, anyone else wish this piece of useless backward equipment an early departure from the world?

I am currently am MBA student and must create projects using power point/ keynote, very often. Many of the power points/ keynotes created by students are informative but lack the ability to hold an audience’s attention (boring). Since I have this wonderful Macbook pro, I would like to create a dynamic keynote presentation which would include clips of audio and video files (I already know about converting keynote to power point). The only problem is, the videos I want to use in the keynote presentation are not able to be manipulated in iMovie (due to their format), and if they where able to be manipulated in iMovie, I’m not sure that PC users would be able to properly view them.
What video format (including embedded audio) is able to be viewed and heard by both OSX Lion users and Windows users?  If this is possible, can anyone suggest a safe application that I can purchase from the apple app store that will allow me to convert video files (including embedded audio) so that it can be viewed by both Lion and PC users? Preferably one that does not need access to the internet in order to convert the files ( I’m on the go allot and use an air card for internet access), but I will take it if this is the best option. If the app store does not have this type of application, is there a place that I can download a safe one?Â

so i installed a dev preview of safari 4, but now want to switch back. i deleted the old safari, but when i go to install safari now it says this disk already has a newer version of safari installed. what can i do?

some users on our OS X Tiger server network (imacs, mac books) freez when using Safari. It seems to be when entering information in a web page such as a form, or with our library search which runs on safari. Clients find this starts, then they log in to another computer and find it again. I think it is permissions related, and is user based

I have a problem with Safari. I want to delete the information of users and password of Safari's autofill, so I go to Safari - Preferences - Autofil - User and password - Edit, and when I click on delete all, the only thing that happens is that all the information remain selected. I try to uninstall safari, but I can't. I'm using the Spanish version of Lion. What can I do? I like using Safari, but I want to delete this information.Â

In an apparent bid to rapidly gain share of the online browser market dominated by rival Microsoft, Apple is leveraging its vast iTunes install base to recommend that Windows users also download and install the latest version of its Safari web browser.
To date, Apple has sold over 100 million iPods, the majority of which have gone to Windows users who subsequently must install the company's iTunes software for synching files between their PCs and the digital media players. As part of iTunes, Apple also installs its Software Update mechanism on the Windows-based machines to notify users of iTunes updates, in addition to updates to its QuickTime media software required for several iTunes functions.
It now appears that the Cupertino-based company aspires to use the advantage presented by the Software Update mechanism to muscle its way further up the browser charts at the expense Microsoft's Internet Explorer and other third-party Windows browsers.
"Earlier today, Apple released the Safari 3.1 Web browser for Mac OS and Windows XP/Vista. A couple hours later, Apple Software Update popped up on my daughter's Sony VAIO, offering Safari 3.1 for download," noted Microsoft Watch's Joe Wilcox. "I didn't recall seeing an earlier version installed on the laptop. And I made no mistake: The Apple updater offered installation of new software, not something that had been there before. Whoa."
Windows users receiving the notification are greeted with Apple's marketing pitch alongside the download option, which reads: "Safari for Windows is the fastest and easiest-to-use web browser for the PC. It displays web pages faster than any other browser and is filled with innovative features -- all delivered in an efficient and elegant user interface."
In a statement released Monday alongside the release of Safari 3.1, Apple said the browser loads web pages 1.9 times faster than the current version of Internet Explorer and 1.7 times faster than Firefox 2.0. But when it comes to install base, Safari is world's behind.
According to NetApplications, the Apple browser maintains an approximate 5.7 percent share of the market, a distant third to the well established presences of both FireFox and Internet Explorer, which hold a 17.2 percent and 74.8 percent share, respectively. But like FireFox, Safari is slowly eating away at Internet Explorer's commanding lead. Its share has risen nearly a full percentage point over the past twelve months, while the Microsoft browser has shed about 5 percent of its share.
Meanwhile, Apple is also contending on a second front in its charge towards supremacy in the browser market, to which it has witnessed more immediate success. Its iPhone and iPod touch -- both of which ship with a mobile version of Safari -- have served to springboard the company to the top of the US mobile browser rankings in a mere eight months, according a recent report from Ireland-based StatCounter.
But Wilcox, who credits Apple with wisely leveraging its resources to infiltrate Microsoft's territory, questions how well the fledging Safari browser will hold up amongst a PC world proliferated by trojans, viruses and other rogue tactics that threaten to disrupt the stability of Windows systems.
"Safari is fairly new to Windows and has yet to really show that it has can muster the security to withstand the associated attacks," he wrote. "Mac OS X is a quaint neighborhood where little Safari was safe. By comparison, Windows is a gang-ridden ghetto: life is survival, and it's tough going."

Today when we started trying to add users to our server (we use it only for afp access at this time), we noticed that new users belonging to a group "storage" were unable to login from client machines via afp (clients both 10.7.2 and 10.6.8). Â
When we tried editing the users accounts to change which groups they belonged to, it would appear in workgroup (and server preferences) that the changes would take but there was still no access.Â
As a test case, we modified an existing user who had no issues logging in to belong to a diffenent group and have different sharepoint access. The changes looked good in workgroup and server prefs, but when the user logged in, he was only able to acces his old sharepoint and not the new one (and since his permissions to the old were removed, he shouldn't have access to that sharepoint).Â
Also, for some reason users cannot be deleted within workgroup manager any more. The login used was the diradmin account.

Recently I purchased Mac Pro with installed Lion OX. I transfered all my files from the old Mac Pro to the new one. Everything seems to be fine except one thing. On my old system I had diferent User Name and 3 email accounts under that user. Now if I want to check new emails on this accounts I have to switch users.
Is there any way that I can have all the emails under one user?

I searched this site, and can't seem to locate help; also googled my problem with little result. I downloaded and (I thought) installed Safari AdBlock (the file name is 0.4.0 RC3.pkg in the Downloads folder). I've done this probably 4 times, and I can't find any reference to the application anywhere on my computer, nor in Safari itself. There's a little open box with an emerging yellow cube in Downloads - Safari AdBlock. I double click, it installs, then it seems to end there. Can't find it. Safari still shows ads, so I don't think it's working, and I can't find AdBlock to try and amend settings.

Used Adblock in leopard and am sure there was an option for it in preferences, now running SL and I have installed the latest version of Adblock but can not seem to verify if it is installed or not and there is no option for it any more.

I can't access my homebanking website (it uses Safari). When I try to, the website says I don't have Java Installed (it was working till last week). If I access Java test page, it says Java is working good. If I access my homebanking with Firefox, it runs OK.

What I found was that this behaviour was reset between reboots. That is, sometimes the problem was gone; other times, I would have to restart repeatedly, hoping for a "good boot."In July I found a good boot was hard to find. I was out of town for a month after that. When I returned, there were only bad boots. I tried to update Safari, but "an unexpected error occurred." The next day, the machine chimed on boot, showed the grey Apple plus a progress bar (which never got very far), and turned off. That's all it does now.

I have a Mac Pro that is running OD to create users. My problem is that the users that I have to give macs to, need rights on their machines to install programs because of all of the development software that these individuals need. I don't want them to be able to make a local user so that they cant unbind these machines from the OD server.
They still need access to terminal. I don't want them to be able to boot into the recovery partition or terminal to get super user rights (thus changing passwords or adding/deleting users). I have restricted their rights to access "Users & Groups" through OD Policies but that's about all I have done.

I'm really struggling to work out how to share some photos between two users on my Air. User 1 has downloaded some JPEGs from their iPhone directly into a folder within their photos folder. A copy of this folder has been popped into their Public folder and that fodler has also been ticked as a shared folder.User 2 has then gone into that Public folder (under their sign-on obvs) but, although the folder is there and can be opened, all of the pics say that there is no permission to view..

I bought a Mac Mini Server yesterday and set it up successfully (Set OD, etc). Everything was working great until I went back and tried to create new users via the server app. As of now, it gives me the error "SEUserErrorDomain error1" and tells me that it cannot create the user. Even though it says that, it will still show up in the user list with the "blue globe" (that I believe is from OD?) but disappear the moment I drill into it and try to save anything. Workgroup Manager will allow me to create the user, but it does not show up in the user list in the server app so I cannot enable certain services for the user (i.e. assign folders for share point, etc). Â
P.S. Apple tech support had me reinstall the 10.7.4 combo update - no help. They also had me use disk utility to repair permissions - no help. P.S.S. On a side note, I did install Samba 3 on the server via mac port to try and help with LDAP auth (I ended up going with pGina for my windows users), but I have no clue how to uninstall it.

I have an issue with pdfs that I make in OS X Lion 10.7.4. If I create a pdf through the Print dialog I get a perfectly OK document. If I pass the pdf to a Windows user (Windows XP Pro, Service Pack 3) and they open it using Adobe Reader or Acrobat 9, the pdf seems to be masked with random black rectangles. These appear where there was an indent or tab in the original document, but not in every case, and they are also randomly distributed in other parts of the doc.Â
I have also used the method of taking a screenshot as pdf, with the same result. Using the excellent Skitch to take a pdf screenshot gives a different problem, with Acrobat displaying a uniform grey box, so no joy there.Â

In AirPort Utility I have just noticed (possibly since doing the OS X update to 10.7.3, early March 2012) that there is no longer a button to 'Disconnect All Users" from a Time Capsule disk. I used to:Open Airport UtilityClick Manual SetupClick the Disks iconClick the button that says Disconnect All Users However, the AirPort Utility interface is now different. Anyone know how to disconnect all users from a Time Capsule?

Im running a golden triangle setup.. a very basic and simple one..
-OD Master running 10.7.3
-clients running 10.7.3 as well..
-AD running windows 2008 server.
OD Master is bound to AD and i can see all the AD users and groups..the problem im facing is i cannot add AD users to OD groups under workgroup manager eveytime i add an AD user to the OD group, it shows as "NOT FOUND" and it shows aa weird ID "0433BF34-"

I want to set up a separate user accout for a friend on my mac, but I want to keep my work private. Specifically my
Sites folder which holds web files that need to be accessed by root / *web_user* --- whatever appachies user is, www_root maybe.Â
How do I simply restrict access to other 'Created Login Users' from accessing my entire home folder? I need to just keep out other login accounts i set up thru the system accounts window.Â

We have an exiting network of approximately 50 Macs running anything from Lion to Leopard. Obviously there are existing local accounts on these machines.What I'd like to do is to administer these users and machines through Lion Server so that I can use the existing user information for all of the services provided by Lion Server, but to do so without altering the way the end user operates and without any data loss.I am having difficulty finding any information on this, but surely someone has installed Open Directory into an existing Mac network.

For a variety of reasons I want to make the Users' Library visible. The main reason is that I want to Import the Safari bookmarks into Opera. I can't do that because the Users' Library is invisible.Â
If I enter Safari into Spotlight I can find the folder okay but that is useless for my purpose. It's okay if I want to transfer Bookmarks to a new computer or external drive but not for importing the Safari bookmarks to Opera.Â
It used to be visible, I don't know why, it just appeared out of the ether. Since I have updated the OS it has vanished again. Never could understand why the folder was made invisible anyway.Â

I'm trying to make it so that my students have the ability to log onto our iMacs (all running Lion) through our Mac Mini Server (also Lion). I recently had to go through drastic changes in order to simply create a directory administrator, yet it still persists. The active directory isn't binded onto the server yet. When I try to bind the my Active Directory with the Mac Mini, I get the following popup after logging in as the Directory Admin:Â
