MacBook :: Text Becoming Garbled On Webpage In Safari
Nov 5, 2008Ever since the last security update, I have been having trouble with the text in part of a web page becoming garbled. It happens when I am scrolling through a page. I can fix it by highlighting the text and it will go away. It remains legible after I take the highlighting away. It does not happen every time I scroll, but it does happen randomly throughout the day. I have owned my Macbook for almost a year and this problem has only come up since the last security update.

May 27, 2009I often find myself searching for a piece of text that I wrote myself within a webpage. For example, when writing a long email in gmail, I want to look for a certain word I wrote somewhere in the middle. Firefox dynamically includes all the text that is present on the page (as opposed to just what's in the source of the page) and I'm wondering if there is a way to do that with Safari.

Apr 14, 2008I'm fairly new to iMac, but with Windows XP, if you wanted to print only a paragraph or two from a webpage, you just highlighted it and hit 'print'.
So far with my 17" flat screen G4, when ever I do that I get the whole webpage no matter what. As a workaround I highlight the text in the webpage, copy it to the clipboard and then open 'text edit', copy it to there and then 'print'. This is Mac ! There must be a better way to do this.

Feb 23, 2012I am unable to use the search window on the right to get results when Google is selected as the search engine.I type in a search term and I am directed to a blank google search page. I have to type in the search term again, then I see a list of "hits". But when
I click on one of these hits I am not directed to the URL displayed. I have quit out of Safari and relaunched. I have rebooted my Mac. Neither changes the problem... This is a Google problem: I have the same symptoms when I use Safari on Windows XP. When I switch the search engine to Bing, the problems go away, for both platforms Has Google been hacked? Is this a Google attack on Safari?  How can I enter GoGoDuck as a search engine choice? Â

It's upsetting to me when i do a finder search fro something example : " infowarsdotcom " and a file called " 2012 project tttinfowarsdotcom tttuse" doesn't show up unless i enter " tttinfowarsdotcom " I don't know, I feel like i'm missing out when i search something and i can't find it under contents or file name, even though it's obviously there. yes i am spelling it right. so, is there a more comprehensive system of searching / organizing that i could download / implement ? Here is an example:
Let's say I load www.google.com, it appears in the safari window as usual.
Suppose I begin to type a search in the google search field at the top right of the safari window (not the one on the google page)
if when doing this the sentence is long for the search, at some point randomly, the rest of the text will be entered this time in the google search text field on the google page! (which is the very next text field) So when I hit enter it makes google search half of my request...
Safari changed the text field I was into with no warning. I want to say I do not press tab at any moment. This is annoying really, and this does not appear anywhere else than in Safari. It seems the issue is not systematic, but appears quite often.
I have no universal access setting except "enable access for assistive device" I had to check this box upon installing a software in the past but I can't remember what it was.Â

Apr 15, 2012I can type a search word into Spotlight. It will show results. I then open let's say an Appleworks text document from that search. Then I close that document and retry the same search: Now that same document will not show up in the search results for that exact word and it WILL NEVER show up again in search results. In other words after a file has been found and opened in search once , it will never appear in search results again for the same word.Â

Apr 13, 2012It's very very high which causes my mac working load all of a sudden. Once l quit it - the noise goes away. Then l reopen Safari it starts again... In addition youtube is working extremly slow.. when l click to play a video the buffering wheel stops and the whole site hangs... the video gets unsynched with audio and loads extremly slow stopping constantly... I tried deleteing cache, history, website data even reinstalled flash.

May 7, 2012At the moment I have removed Acrobat Reader 10.3.1 because it conflicts with Safari. Preview is a perfectly fine pdf reader (and with lots of very nice features) but I don't see how I can make Preview open a pdf from a web page until it has been downloaded to file. And I have found at least one site that will not download to file before opening.
