View 8 RepliesI just switched to a Mac and now I cannot get onto the Consumer Reports website because they require Internet Explorer or Firefox as a browser and I am using Safari. What can I do?
View 6 Replies View Relatedthe Firefox addons on Mozilla's website work on OSX when using Firefox? I just wanted to make sure since I like using all of the apps on my firefox configuration and was thinking about buying a mac. I know a lot of 3rd party apps that aren't specifically made for Mac at times will not work
View 1 Replies View RelatedI think most people here know how to use Safari to download internet videos from sites such as YouTube. Simply go to Activity, find the appropriate file based on the file size. Double click it, and the FLV file would automatically be downloaded.
This also works for MP4 files, at least it used to before the last Safari update a few months back. Now, whenever I try to do the same operation on an MP4 file, it opens and plays the file within Safari itself instead of saving it. This is really frustrating! Does anyone know how to get around this ridiculous issue? I searched all over the web but it seems no one else is bothered by this.
I thought all I had to do was drag the URL to whichever blank Top Site I wanted it to be on.
View 6 Replies View RelatedDid a search, nothing, I want to rip a flash video off this website: [URL]. I have NO idea how to do it. I have FF and Safari, I don't care which one I use for this.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi love safari, i think it's the best overall of the big three web browsers, but it isn't perfect (i'm running v. 2.0.4) and it tends to crash on certain sites.
what i want to know if it's possible to set firefox to be the primary browser if i click on links from the sites that would take down safari, and go to safari for the rest of the websites.
What's the best browser? Is Safari 4 the way to go or should I get firefox? Where can I find the top apps for mac users (I am a PC turned mac user so just curious) Do I get a class at the apple store free for purchasing a mac or something?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhich internet browser is the most battery friendly on OS X? I currently use Safari (obviously you'd think apple would make a battery-friendly one), but I was wondering if there was another good browser. I know chrome is pretty battery intensive, which is sad, it's one of my favorites. How is Firefox and Opera and such?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSometimes it does load the main page, but very slowly and any link I click starts loading forever but without any success.
Does anyone know what the problem could possibly be? I have already called the site and they told me they are not experiencing problems. In addition, it does load on Windows...
i know safari is default cuz its apple and all.. but what do you guys have as a separate option:
Google Chrome
Firefox 3.5
Firefox 4 Beta

I have a late 2008 unibody Macbook Pro 15" with, unfortunately, only 2GB RAM. My work requires a very intensive internet flash application that will usually max out my RAM, and in combination with certain other applications, my computer becomes so laggy that I cannot work.
This has me wondering... which browser is best for running intensive flash applications? I also like to run lots of random pages at once, so I'll do that as well, either in the same browser, or concurrently in a different one.
Recently I have started using firefox for a change, plus it seems like flash content plays much smoother in firefox than safari.
Anyway, in safari when you want to save a picture you right click and can "Add Image to iPhoto Library"
There is no such option in firefox and I can't seem to find anything similar to that.
Could someone tell me how I save images from firefox to iPhoto?
My Safari and Firefox, which are both updated to latest, both crash and freeze on all pages with flash on them. What do I do?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the New MacBook Pro 13inch with Snow Leopard.
I have the latest Safari, Firefox, and Flash.
Recently I have been noticing that while running flash programs on Safari my browser will freeze and then I have to force quit the application.
Thinking this might just be a Safari problem, I downloaded Firefox but I am experiencing the same problems. I tried running Safari using 32-bit and Rosetta but still experiencing crashing.
I have searched high and low for an answer to this! My website's icon shows in every other browser except for Safari.
I have "reset" Safari, tried a variety of different "paths" to my favicon.ico in my header.php file, blah blah blah and NOTHING works!
I downloaded java couple weeks ago, and my browser start to open ads instead of the website i want. Also, when I open the website I want some words appear bold and have link, where on my phone it appears as normal text when I am browsing on my phone.

View 24 Replies View RelatedI want to save my first garageband file as an mp3. When I click share -> send song to iTunes, a tube appears, showing that the operation is occurring, but it never arrives. I've tried different names of playlists, but no luck. Either the operation doesn't happen or the file's title changes. I looked in all the folders where newly created mp3's go and no luck. I've searched iTunes and can't find any new files.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI was downloading a large 1.3GB file and when I paused it and resumed it again, it stopped working. All I have now is the .part file that is 999MB. Is there anyway that I can resume downloading this file from the 999MB point, so I don't have to download from the start again?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently arrived at college and when you join the wifi network (and through ethernet) you have to register your computer. I did this at orientation and everything worked fine. Once I got here I had to reregister (maybe they reset something in the system, so I don't think its a big deal but youre supposed to only have to register every 12 months).
I believe what happened is I opened Safari and I registered over Wifi and ethernet. And then nothing would load while I was on wifi, but Skype would work (but I've noticed that the Pandora One app won't load, but I'm not going to worry about that, at least for now. I can use the website).
So after like an hour chatting with tech support, resetting Safari, restarting, trying Chrome, I go in to the library where tech support is.

A site that I visit regularly has recently started giving me an error whenever I try to access it. I can get there just fine using the latest Firefox. I've tried emptying the cache and resetting Safari to no avail.
I can access the website if I disable Javascript on Safari However, I can access by using firefox!

I have a question regarding Microsoft power point. I have microsoft powerpoint 2007 on my PC, but sadly don't have the microsoft 2008 or iworks on my mac. I have a report I have to present so I have to do it on my PC. Problem is that they have MACs that have microsoft office 2008. Question is if i save a file on the MS PP 2007 for PC would it work on MS PP 2008 on a mac? Or would I have to save it as a 97-03 PP file that would be an extension of .ppt. I believe the extension for the 2007 PP is .pptx.

When viewing a movie file in my browser in Leopard, I was able to right click on it and save a copy to my desktop/computer. Now, I can't seem to enable this option... I have no way of saving a movie to my computer. Am I missing something? How does one do this now, do I need to click on a specific spot?
