I just bought a MacBook and now I'm just using Mac OS. Now i have a little problem: Burning videos with subtitles.
I was using ConvertXtoDVD but i didn't found any similar program for Mac OS, that burns almost any video to DVD and automatically adds subtitles.
I really don't wanna have to install XP via Boot Camp or VM Fusion.
I have been trying to burn a DVD with iDVD with DVD player selectable subtitles and every time I burn a disc the subtitles are removed. The files I am adding to iDVD are mp4 with external .srt subtitles added to them via a re-encode with handbreak. Is there any way to preserve the subtitles and make them selectable on a DVD player?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a very old foreign film I need to burn onto a DVD. Right now it's in two parts - a first part .avi and a second part .avi. The subtitles are .srt for the first part and .sub for the second part (so four files altogether with two video files and two subtitle files).
I have a PS3 that can read computer type files and has worked for other movies and things I've burned onto DVDs and even CDs, but apparently it won't show the subtitles in these files so I need to convert it or something. I am trying in iDVD but it's not letting me put the .srt or .sub files in there.
What is the easiest way to do this? I'm not very technically proficient, so please use layman's terms.
I'm trying to burn some DVDs. I first burned in Finder and found out the hard way that that makes terrible quality data disc DVDs. Then I tried on iDVD, and at first it said it would only take 3 hours to burn a 1 1/2 hour movie on Professional Quality, so I was happy. But as it was encoding, it jumped to 16+ hours! So I tried again with only high quality, and it still said 8 hours, and now after 10 hours is still encoding. So, I need something else that's faster. I also need something relatively easy to learn/use. It may sound like I know what I'm talking about kind of, but I really don't and I just barely figured iDVD out. I still want it to convert into DVD quality discs (and good quality - I just got a new HDTV and would even like to try burning HD or Blu-ray discs). And I need it to be free.
So, my needs are:
#1 - FAST
#2 - FREE
#3 - GOOD QUALITY CONVERSIONS
#4 - EASY TO LEARN/USE
I was trying to sum that title up as best as I could. I'm looking for an audio program that will allow me to take one long audio track, separate it by markers (or something), and export/burn to CD (each marker would represent an individual track). The Wavelab program has this feature, but Wavelab is PC based so I can't use it =( Anyone know of anything?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 12 Videos in .mov format that I saved from .wmv format using quicktime and flip4mac. I have also tried saving them as AVI and same result.
Here's the problem, when I put them into iDVD and save as disk image to check, the videos are there, but no sound. I tried also burning them to DVD, using a maxell DVD-R 16x, and all the will come up on the dvd is the title menu. Movies will not play on my macbook or in the dvd player on TV. I tried using the .avi format but there still was no sound, and the movies were really choppy.
if i try to use iMovie, it will not even import these .mov files (doesn't let me click on them to import)
is there another format i need to export to, or change some setting to get the sound in my project, and get the movies to play have i burn them?
All the movies are approx 1hr long except one, and I was using the best performance setting putting 2 movies per dvd.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm an old-school Visual Hub user when it comes to converting video formats. Unfortunately, that app is no longer being made and it doesn't solve my current problem so looking for some advice. My nephew won an MP3/video player as part of a contest at school. Its not an iDevice but its a prize and he's enamored with it. The problem is, although it supports video, it only seems to support files formatted in the "MTV" format which I understand to be really limited technology.
Can anyone recommend a decent media conversion program that will let me convert MP4's, AVI's and such to the MTV format? Its likely time I upgrade from Visual Hub anyways so I don't mind spending some money on a useful app. The problem is most of those I see mentioned in the forums here don't specifically mention the MTV format.
I was wondering if you guys could recommend me a program which would play my own personal videos as a screen saver and would play my soundtrack from my itunes library?

That can convert avi xvid (ETC) and raw dvds. Right now I have Handbrake is this my best option? Also is there an app that can add the info and dvd cover when I put it into iTunes so it will look organized?

I've seen many videos on YouTube with the exact same effect and I'm wondering which software they're using to create them.
As the title states I'm looking for a program that will let me catalog my ripped DVDs and BR films into a database. Ideally it would give a nice long list with columns showing bit rate, resolution, audio bit rate, audio format, video encoding, file type, video length, size, etc. Obviously being able to sort by these different variables would be necessary.
Also excellent would be if the database could somehow sync with the internet and grab information like director, actors, and writers. Does anyone know of something like this? I've got quite a large film collection and it's becoming unwieldy. I'm not looking for things like Delicious Library because those kinds of apps manage physical products not files.
I have a huge project for a national competition that I am making a video for as an introduction to our keynote presentation. I am looking for a program that can make a slideshow by dumping in photos then able to export as a .mov or other format to incorporate into my movie for the presentation (instead of doing it by hand).

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an HD MOV file I'd like to burn to a DVD with subtitles. I made a DVD in iDVD but obviously iDVD doesn't support .srt. I had the idea of replacing the separate episodes (I'm burning a series) with my own VOB files I made with different software. That way I could have my soft subtitles. But FFMPEGX won't work; I've tried nearly everything but there's this huge problem with the framerate which makes it basically unwatchable. Note that I live in Europe so this DVD should be PAL. The files have 23.98 FPS and I need to go to 25 for it to work in a DVD player. What's the best software for this kind of thing?

Are those the discs I need anyways to burn movies or is this program seem to be very limited on what disc to use?

I'm switching from windows to mac. I have a considerable divx collection with srt subs.
I'd like to be able to watch the collection, bringing front row GUI to my plasmascreen.
I found a way to make my collection appear in Itunes now, so all I need to know is how to handle the subtitle files?
I'm having some trouble embedding subtitles and converting the files into one single avi movie. I'm streaming the movies to my Xbox 360, so it has to be one single file, and avi (or MP4, i think that works too).
I've tried Submerge, but i keep getting an error when i try to export to avi.
It'll only convert into .mov, and it takes forever to convert the .mov file into .avi.
I downloaded a movie (had to because I can't get it where I live, Waltz with Bashir) I knew it was in a different language but I didn't expect there to be no subtitles, so I found a site that had them but now I don't know how to add them, they are in the same folder as the movie, but if I go to Quicktime it says there are no subtitles.
