I have everything connected and working to display my MBP to my Sony Bravia HDTV. I am using the TV as a second display. When I choose full screen for my iTunes movie, it goes black. The iTunes movie plays in reduced screen. Does anyone have a solution how I can play full screen?

I'm looking to build a kind of video wall. I have 4 LCD monitors which I've hooked up to a Mac pro to get a resolution of 3840x2104 on screen. Then I made an After Effects movie of a white box bouncing around the screen rendered at 3840x2104. What I'd like to be able to do is play the movie full screen and have it actually fill all four screens, but when I do Cmd+F and make it "full-screen", Quicktime is insistent on just filling one of my screens. I can expand the window (in non-full screen mode) to fill all four monitors, but then I have borders everwhere which I don't want (IE, the OS X menu bar and the "play" buttons at the bottom, etc). Quicktime has full screen settings which allow you to choose which monitor you'd like to fill, but (from what I can tell) there's no way to have it use more than one monitor. Does anyone know of a way I can play the movie across all four screens? I thought maybe another media player would offer this functionality, but I tried using VLC and it didn't seem to. Are there any other third party packages supporting H.264 that might offer this? Is there some plugin or method for Quicktime to beat it into submission?

I am unable to achieve full-screen resolution and downloaded SwitchResX to manually adjust the display. Does anyone know the timing parameters for the Sony or how to achieve full-screen resoltuion?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using a DVI->HDMI cable to connect my Powerbook to my Sony LCD TV. The Sony's native resolution is 1366x768. For some reason my Powerbook doesn't want to switch to this resolution. I can get 1280x720, but this leaves a black border around the images the whole time.
I've tried setting a custom resolution using the trial version of SwitchResX but to no avail. It won't do it.
Anybody have any similar experiences and possibly found a fix?
So I tried watching a movie I bought from iTunes on my classic last night just for kicks, when I realized it didn't fit on the screen. Why? Because the resolution, of a movie purchased on iTunes, was completely wack--853x354. Looking at my other fine iTunes purchases, these are the resolutions, all over the board: 21--853 x 354

I try on vista x64 ultimate - VLC, mediaplayer clasic - frames. OSX - VLC, QuickTime, frames. When I see the movie only in window. All is Ok.
View 8 Replies View RelatedOkay, I know that when iTunes LPs and iTunes Extras first came out, iTunes could not play them full screen.
I don't know when it happened, but I just noticed that I *CAN* play them full screen now. (Either by selecting "View" -> "Full Screen"; hitting Command-F, or clicking a new "Full screen" widget at the upper-right on the "title bar" for the LP/Extra within the content pane of iTunes.)
But, strangely, this only appears on one of my computers, even though both are running the same version of OS X (10.6.2,) and the same version of iTunes (9.0.2.)
Does anyone know the secret to enabling this? I have checked every single setting in iTunes, both menus and preferences, and they are all perfectly matched between the two computers.
You know how with Quicktime you can stretch the image so it use the whole screen, similarly when using an iPod via a video out cable to watch a movie on TV it can zoom in to fill the screen?
Is there any way to do this when watching movies in iTunes or via Front Row? I watch a lot of TV shows on my MacBook when away and would prefer to have a full screen even if it cost me the top and bottom of the picture or some stretching.
Let me start by saying it was really early this morning when I tried, but I couldn't find the "full screen" setting for video. I know you can hit the expansion arrows and that works, but the actual VIDEO didn't get any bigger. In 9.0.3 I'd hit the arrows and the video would fill the screen. Today on 9.1 the video stayed the same size and the black boarder filled the screen.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am running my MacMini 1.83GHz, OSX10.6.3 through my 37" Sharp LCD TV as my media centre.
When I activate the iTunes visualiser in full screen, the image jumps and jagged lines appear randomly across the screen.
This does not happen if the visualiser Is running where you can see iTunes control bar above and below the visualiser graphics. It also does not seem to happen with any of the other iTunes built in visualisers.
I rented a movie, some 3 hours ago. It said that my start up disk is full and therefore it couldn't download. I deleted many of my pictures, movies I had made, music I had bought and so on and so forth. And yet to my great disappointment, I still cannot download that movie.

I have a strange problem in fullscreen mode, on my Macbook pro 15".I LOVE fullscreen, and infact the next macbook I will get is the 11" air because of its size and because full screen is so nice to work with.Suddenly the menubar will not display it self when I move the mouse to the top of the screen. The only way I can access the menu bar is by exiting full screen (ctrl + Cmd + F) and the toggel it back on after I have used the menubar .This actually makes fullscreen mode useless and its driving me nuts, because this should not happen on Apple software. I would expect these sorts of behaviour on windows but not in osx.

For some reason VLC starts very slowly and lags when playing some H264 in mkv anime. So I turn to Mplayer. Is there a way to make it full screen. I tried every button but none seems to work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI noticed that after upgrading to Lion quicktime player won't play movies full screen on my second display. Under Snow Leopard if the quicktime window was on the second display and you hit full screen it would fill the display is was on. Now the video slides to the main display and then goes full screen. There doesn't seem to be any way to change that behavior. There are no preferences. Â
The only work around is to move the menu bar in the display preferences to the second menu, so that the second monitor becomes the main one.Â

I have a Samsung 2033SW hooked up to my mac and whenever I play video full-screen on on screen (either the laptop or the samsung), the other screen blacks out. This happens whether I use VLC, RealPlayer or Quicktime. How do I set it up so that I can play full-screen video on one and still be able to use the other screen for other stuff?
I'm pretty sure it's not because there aren't enough resources because I can still play "fit-to-screen" on one screen and still have access to the other screen.
Display profile changes-the color correctness- changes whenever I enter fullscreen mode in-game, in dvd player, etc. Absolutely spontaneously. When I exit fullscreen it recovers to regular display profile.

I am trying to play a couple of games on my mac mini 2010 and when they play full screen I only get 4:3 display and I cant get it to stretch to widescreen. I have tried all resolutions but the game still goes to 4:3 when I select fullscreen. I have my Mini connected to a 40" tv via HDMI.

Is that possible? Since the page numbers are not on the pdf itsself but created by Preview I could not find how to remove them. I added a screen shot to indicate which page numbering I mean.

As the headline says the right half of the screen turns black when watching video content in iTunes on full screen. I can see the whole picture when moving the mouse a little but as soon as the navigation bar disappears the right half of the picture disappears too. It does not matter what source it is. Both podcasts and movies work (or do not work) the same.Â
The problem doesn't occur for other player (VLC, XBMC etc.).Â
I have the latest OS (10.9.4) and iTunes (11.4). The computer is MBP 13-inch retina, late 2012 if it matters.Â

It started off well and an hour into the movie, the screen just froze. Nothing working out, I restarted my macbook the hard way, and it did to me another time again. I had to watch the movie in a normal window not for itunes to crash.
View 4 Replies View RelatedInstalled without problems on a 3 y.o. 15MBP and a new iMac. See no performance issues so far, but I HATE the fact that the FULL SCREEN photo viewing is no longer there! I just hate it, that there is absolutely no way to view pictures full screen. period. (this was THE MOST important feature of iPhoto.) As such, zooming in full screen is NOT available anymore either, instead of floating windows with adjustments, etc., zoom, effects, you get stupid permanent bars that you can't even move anywhere. Also, gone is ability to quick launch a full screen slideshow. You are now asked to select photos for a slideshow first, and then create that slideshow. In Classic you will get an ability to view these full screen, thats the only way. The stupid music that accompanies classic is ... well, stupid. I just wish the Apple store in Bethesda MD had it installed so I could see how horrible it is, before giving them $79 for a Family Pack! My money now goes to Adobe for LR3, a much, much better suite! Forgot to mention, this version is NOT 64 bit, and it does not recognize dual-screen mode either, something that Adobe implemented years ago. Shame on APple for dummifying a simple photo viewer to the iPhone level.

I recently purchased a new MBP and wanted to screen share to my old MB with all my "junk" on it. It would be handy to actually enter full screen as opposed to being restricted to a window sized screen.
