MacBook Pro :: How To Make MPlayer To Display In Full Screen
Jul 5, 2010
For some reason VLC starts very slowly and lags when playing some H264 in mkv anime. So I turn to Mplayer. Is there a way to make it full screen. I tried every button but none seems to work.
I just purchased a Mac Mini and am using a DVI to HDMI cable to connect it to my 42" Sony KDF-E42A10. I am unable to achieve full-screen resolution and downloaded SwitchResX to manually adjust the display. Does anyone know the timing parameters for the Sony or how to achieve full-screen resoltuion?
Ive been to the Apple Store and I cannot make the windows full screen like you can do on Windows. Is this something native on all Macs? Here are some pics
I have a Samsung 2033SW hooked up to my mac and whenever I play video full-screen on on screen (either the laptop or the samsung), the other screen blacks out. This happens whether I use VLC, RealPlayer or Quicktime. How do I set it up so that I can play full-screen video on one and still be able to use the other screen for other stuff?
I'm pretty sure it's not because there aren't enough resources because I can still play "fit-to-screen" on one screen and still have access to the other screen.
I recently switched from Windows, and while I love OSX overall, I miss the ability to make a window fill the screen. I don't want to do it all the time, but want to be able to do it when I'm focusing on a single program, or want to use as much screen real estate as possible.
Are there any plugins, programs, or Automator settings that would allow me to do this?
The full screen mode of Preview always shows a small grey bubble on the botton of the screen that indicates the page number. I would like to remove this page numbering. Is that possible? Since the page numbers are not on the pdf itsself but created by Preview I could not find how to remove them. I added a screen shot to indicate which page numbering I mean.

I'm planning on using my MBP/Photobooth at an event where I would have people take pictures of themselves (because Photobooth is fun and will attract people).
My question is... Is there a "skin" or app or plugin that will take make Photobooth FULL SCREEN? I want it to hide the operating system... just full on Photobooth action.
I would like to make my Firefox fullscreen (without the Mac Taskbar on top), but I can find a viable solution. When researching a few places, I found out that there is an bundle called "Megazoomer" and it requires Simbl.
Once I run the installer of Simbl and dragged the Megazoomer into my Library/Application Support folder. It doesn't work. It just makes a sfx noise that nothing is working.
When I press cmd + enter, it won't work. I don't know what I am doing wrong.
I finally bought an iMac 27" today. very excited! i have a problem that i am starting to think is the norm...how do you make itunes & safari full screen
I am using 27" imac i dont know how to make window tab full screen. I clicked on top left corner to do full screen and window was full screen but page is on centre of the screen and the sidebars were empty.
I got a Matte screen 2010 MBP. It comes with higher res screen. I personally find the text to be a little bit too small for my liking. Is it possible to uniformly make everything bigger so the higher res only make image and text sharper and not smaller than original resolution?
I have a strange problem in fullscreen mode, on my Macbook pro 15".I LOVE fullscreen, and infact the next macbook I will get is the 11" air because of its size and because full screen is so nice to work with.Suddenly the menubar will not display it self when I move the mouse to the top of the screen. The only way I can access the menu bar is by exiting full screen (ctrl + Cmd + F) and the toggel it back on after I have used the menubar .This actually makes fullscreen mode useless and its driving me nuts, because this should not happen on Apple software. I would expect these sorts of behaviour on windows but not in osx.
It is pretty good as a secondary display But is it possible to watch hulu using safari on the secondary isplay full screen. (hulu)And use my MacBook Pro to do other things at the same time? This is giving me trouble. Also anybody have any luck using pip with a samsung lcd tv?
I noticed that after upgrading to Lion quicktime player won't play movies full screen on my second display. Under Snow Leopard if the quicktime window was on the second display and you hit full screen it would fill the display is was on. Now the video slides to the main display and then goes full screen. There doesn't seem to be any way to change that behavior. There are no preferences. Â
The only work around is to move the menu bar in the display preferences to the second menu, so that the second monitor becomes the main one.Â

Just bought a 26" tv and want to connect it up to my macbook, I can get it to work but the very outer edge of the screen is cut off eg, the menu bar at the top cannot be seen. Can I do anything to fit everything on?
Display profile changes-the color correctness- changes whenever I enter fullscreen mode in-game, in dvd player, etc. Absolutely spontaneously. When I exit fullscreen it recovers to regular display profile. My regular display profile is "color LCD", and it changes to .
I have everything connected and working to display my MBP to my Sony Bravia HDTV. I am using the TV as a second display. When I choose full screen for my iTunes movie, it goes black. The iTunes movie plays in reduced screen. Does anyone have a solution how I can play full screen?
I am trying to play a couple of games on my mac mini 2010 and when they play full screen I only get 4:3 display and I cant get it to stretch to widescreen. I have tried all resolutions but the game still goes to 4:3 when I select fullscreen. I have my Mini connected to a 40" tv via HDMI.
Just wondering if there is a way to have videos in iTunes play full screen on a secondary display. I know you can do it in Quicktime, VLC and eyeTV with terminal... but all my content is in iTunes..Can anyone help?I take it from this overwhelming responce that it is not possible to do??
My wife's macbook monitor is destroyed due to happy 2 year old. It won't be worthwhile to replace the monitor and it is not fixable without some expensive work being done on it, therefore I would like to use our TV as an external monitor and retire the macbook to being a mediia computer. I have connected it to the TV, and I see an empty desktop, as far as I can determine it looks like it is treating the TV as a secondary display - that the desktop is extended onto - so I cannot actually interact with the normal desktop. When I try to run things using keyboard shortcuts I hear some sounds of things starting, but I don't see anything on the TV.  So what I need to do is to have some way to tell it to treat the secondary display as the primary display. My mac keep getting spam every time i open safari. It started when i downloaded mplayer x I've tried dragging it to the trash, it just returns to the same place what should i do ?
Your startup disk is almost full. You need to make more space available on your startup disk by deleting files. How can I delete duplicate files??? Don't want to delete files by files... folders by folders...
I'm getting a high resolution, and it looks alright, but it's not fully using the widescreen. That's "aspect" right? Well anyway, I also have a 19" display and it works perfectly. My Xbox, cable box and movies all use the full widescreen on the Acer, but the Macbook with the super amazing Mini DisplayPort doesn't even use the full resolution. What's with that? I thought the reason they had this new port and a $30 adapter was for higher resolutions!
The title says it all really... Quite a simple problem that I can't find any answer to!
I've hooked up my 30" Apple Cinema Display to the new iMac 27" and the highest resolution I'm getting as an option is 1280x800... The iMac correctly detects the ACD as a Cinema HD display but limits my resolution. Why oh why?!
