Does anyone know of a way to enter full screen in Mac OS X's native screen sharing application? I recently purchased a new MBP and wanted to screen share to my old MB with all my "junk" on it. It would be handy to actually enter full screen as opposed to being restricted to a window sized screen.
If this isn't possible, anyone have a good recommendation for an alternative application?
I have been able to remotely log into my parents computer and after I type in their password I can see their screen and take control of their computer, so I know I can get a connection through to their machine. However, we cannot iChat, it will not allow us to connect at all.

View 1 Replies View RelatedInstalled without problems on a 3 y.o. 15MBP and a new iMac. See no performance issues so far, but I HATE the fact that the FULL SCREEN photo viewing is no longer there! I just hate it, that there is absolutely no way to view pictures full screen. period. (this was THE MOST important feature of iPhoto.) As such, zooming in full screen is NOT available anymore either, instead of floating windows with adjustments, etc., zoom, effects, you get stupid permanent bars that you can't even move anywhere. Also, gone is ability to quick launch a full screen slideshow. You are now asked to select photos for a slideshow first, and then create that slideshow. In Classic you will get an ability to view these full screen, thats the only way. The stupid music that accompanies classic is ... well, stupid. I just wish the Apple store in Bethesda MD had it installed so I could see how horrible it is, before giving them $79 for a Family Pack! My money now goes to Adobe for LR3, a much, much better suite! Forgot to mention, this version is NOT 64 bit, and it does not recognize dual-screen mode either, something that Adobe implemented years ago. Shame on APple for dummifying a simple photo viewer to the iPhone level.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm on a IMac OS X (version 10.5.8) and I just noticed a bit of a change in the graphics while playing Heroes of Newerth. I left all the graphic stuff on medium quality, and I've noticed now that when it is on full screen the picture is sketchy. When I minimize the full screen (apple m) i realize its a lot smoother than it is in wide screen (no kidding huh?). Before I thought it was just due to me having the IMac wireless, but I've noticed it's been happening for a week already and I usually get better bandwidth when no one is home. So is this a graphics card issue or what and if so how would i deal with this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a mac mini server running OSX Lion 10.7.4 Until powring this down over the weekend, it had worked beautifully. I coould connect, access shared files, screen share (as I am running in head less) as well as access it via Server Admin from a remote computer.Â
After restarting, I can still share files, but am unable to access the sceen share or administer remotely. The odd thing is that when I connect it to my TV I can then also access it with screen share from another MacBook Pro as well as use server admin for remote admin. As soon as I run it headless again, I cannot access it via screen share.Â
I have noticed that the screen share finction has changed from before, so am wondering if this has anything to do with it.Â
I have not chnaged any settings on it. Firewall is the same as before, filesharing and screen sharing is enabled and I am trying to access it as a registered user.Â

I have a few Macs in my condo, and I'm able to connect between all of them with Screen Sharing/Remote Management with no problem. I recently bought a Mac Mini Server to use as a HTPC/Server with OSX Server installed. I can connect to any of my other computers FROM the server with Screen Sharing, but I can't connect TO the Mac Mini Server from any of my other computers. All of the settings seem to be correct and the same as my other computers. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get this to work?

i have been having issues with mac users who have the new mac book pro with the retina display, apparently the native screen size is too large for the web ex and logmein services to display. they are currently aware of the situation but there is no resolution date, is there any way to lower the resolution. we tried to have some peopel lower the settings but there is no resolution setting where the user can lower it to a much smaller size like 1024 x 768. the web ex app is usally ran through java.

So I have a DYNEX 21 inch HD TV conected up to my MBP via the VGA connection route. My problem is that when I want a program (or more specifically in this case a game) to go into fullscreen mode it automatically goes to my primary monitor and turns the other screen black. I know I can switch the primary monitor from my actual laptop screen to the TV however I just want the game to be full screen on the TV while still having access to my dock and everything on my laptop.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to a Macbook Pro 15" with a mini displayport, and I decided I would share my LCD monitor with my windows box. The desktop box is connected with DVI and I have connected my Macbook through an HDMI adaptor from Moshi. Everything works very well, and I'm pleased with the quality of the output, but I'm having trouble with a screen flicker in full screen games.
When I select full 1080p (1900x1080) in any full screen game, the screen "shudders." It does not occur on the OS X desktop, and I can only explain it as a shudder. Lines and text shift perceptively left and right, and the game is unplayable. I have experienced this problem in Starcraft 2, World of Warcraft, and Half Life: Episode 2 so far.
Could the problem be with my monitor and the way it handles an HDMI signal? The Macbook is flawless otherwise, with no other issues of any kind. The "shudder" only occurs during full screen games set to 1900x1080. Lower resolutions are not effected and work fine...
I'm stumped.
Edit: I should add that I have no other 1080p capable devices to test the output with.
As the headline says the right half of the screen turns black when watching video content in iTunes on full screen. I can see the whole picture when moving the mouse a little but as soon as the navigation bar disappears the right half of the picture disappears too. It does not matter what source it is. Both podcasts and movies work (or do not work) the same.Â
The problem doesn't occur for other player (VLC, XBMC etc.).Â
I have the latest OS (10.9.4) and iTunes (11.4). The computer is MBP 13-inch retina, late 2012 if it matters.Â

I often use iChat's Screen Sharing feature to help friends and family with their computers, and it works pretty well. But I have a question.
Is there a way to kill the Audio traffic ?
1) I'd love to be able to have conversations here at home without the person I'm helping hear all the chatter.
2) I'm assuming that if there's no Audio going then that's extra bandwidth that can be used for screen-refreshing etc.

I recently had to erase and install Leopard. I then restored everything from my time-machine backup. The weird thing is, before, when watching streaming videos from the internet, the screen stayed at the same brightness, regardless of whether there was any mouse movement, or touching the keyboard, or anything. Now, if I don't do anything, the computer dims the screen, as if i wasn't watching a video.

My Mac does not give me the option of selecting the screen resolution that the Dell monitor says it has (1920x1080). It only allows for 1600x900 at max. This has the effect of the screen not stretching to the full size of the screen.

Doesn't it seem a bit weird that after bigging up how good iPhoto was in full screen and how steve thinks that all Mac apps should have a full screen mode.

I am trying to set up Apple Remote Desktop and Screen Sharing between my Mac Pro (home computer) and a new Macbook (white laptop).
I wish to be able to use Apple Remote Desktop from both computers. I have had this working between an older work laptop.
I don't seem to be able to connect to the Macbook from the Mac Pro, I cannot share the screen or connect using ARD. I enter the username and password of the account I use on the Macbook but connection takes a while and is then refused. I can however, connect from my MacBook to my Mac Pro
If I allow Screen Sharing instead of Remote Management from the System preferences, it requires that the the user of the Macbook accepts my request to view the screen. However if using the Macbook I can connect and no permission is requested. If permission is granted I can only share screen in ARD and not control.
The user account I use on the Macbook is an "Admin, Managed, Mobile" account. Would that have an affect?
I'm going to be using iChat for the first time and want to use the screen sharing feature between two computers running 10.6. iChat's documentation (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.h.../en/17157.html) says:
"While every screen sharing connection uses encryption, the highest level of security requires both participants to have MobileMe subscriptions with encryption enabled. If this is the case, you will see a lock icon in the screen sharing window."
I'm wondering:
1. What is the difference between the encryption that "every screen sharing connection uses" and the enhanced security allowed with MobileMe accounts? How does this compare with, say, doing VNC over an SSH connection?
2. I understand that one can get a free MobileMe account which only has iChat capabilities. Does this free MobileMe account enable iChat encryption, or do I have to pay $99/year to get that?
How do I minimize a full screen app or game? For example, if I were in a game, that takes up the entire screen, how do I get back to the desktop without exiting the game? Kind of like on Windows, when you open the Start menu while in a game, it brings you back to the desktop.
