So I tried watching a movie I bought from iTunes on my classic last night just for kicks, when I realized it didn't fit on the screen. Why? Because the resolution, of a movie purchased on iTunes, was completely wack--853x354. Looking at my other fine iTunes purchases, these are the resolutions, all over the board: 21--853 x 354
View 11 RepliesI have everything connected and working to display my MBP to my Sony Bravia HDTV. I am using the TV as a second display. When I choose full screen for my iTunes movie, it goes black. The iTunes movie plays in reduced screen. Does anyone have a solution how I can play full screen?

I just installed "SwitchResX" (stupidly - IMPOSSIBLE to get rid of! ) and now two of the default eMac screen resolutions are missing in:

I tried to rent a movie from Itunes and play it on my iMac and it just shows a all grey screen.

It started off well and an hour into the movie, the screen just froze. Nothing working out, I restarted my macbook the hard way, and it did to me another time again. I had to watch the movie in a normal window not for itunes to crash.

can anyone tell me what i may be doing wrong? i am trying to create a movie using video clips from my camera. when i download my movies to iphoto, they work great. when i drag them to imovie, they play but i do not get any sound. the 3 little check marks are there but still no sound!

I have a question about moving all of my avi movies from the movies folder into iTunes. I do have toast titanium which I was planning on using to convert the files before moving them. I guess my question is would it be possible to convert all of my movies into iTunes and A. Be able to watch them in good quality on my tv and B. Be able to check off which videos I want to ne synced to my iPod to take them and display them on a different tv via the nano. I would just like to hear if anyone has the same setup going on or if it would work better keeping all of my avi movies in a folder and converting them to iPod format on the fly.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue with iTunes (9.2) and a movie that I rented from the iTunes Store. Around a month I go I rented 'Borstal Boy' when it was the 99p Film of the Week. I then transfered this to my iPad to watch on the train, which I did. I have obviously synced back after this. Now everytime I download an app, or podcast etc, 'Borstal Boy' is automatically added to my download list and starts to re-download (1.08GB). If I cancel the download it automatically adds itself back into the list next time I download anything else. If I leave it to download and try to play it (to force it to recognise that it has been watched), it asks me to confirm that I accept I have 48 hours to watch it once it starts, then it says that "it is authorised to play on another computer or device". If I delete this, it will then just try and re-download. stop this from constantly trying to download? I've watched the film, and don't want it anymore.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to build a kind of video wall. I have 4 LCD monitors which I've hooked up to a Mac pro to get a resolution of 3840x2104 on screen. Then I made an After Effects movie of a white box bouncing around the screen rendered at 3840x2104. What I'd like to be able to do is play the movie full screen and have it actually fill all four screens, but when I do Cmd+F and make it "full-screen", Quicktime is insistent on just filling one of my screens. I can expand the window (in non-full screen mode) to fill all four monitors, but then I have borders everwhere which I don't want (IE, the OS X menu bar and the "play" buttons at the bottom, etc). Quicktime has full screen settings which allow you to choose which monitor you'd like to fill, but (from what I can tell) there's no way to have it use more than one monitor. Does anyone know of a way I can play the movie across all four screens? I thought maybe another media player would offer this functionality, but I tried using VLC and it didn't seem to. Are there any other third party packages supporting H.264 that might offer this? Is there some plugin or method for Quicktime to beat it into submission?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI downloaded handbrake to my hp computer running windows vista. I tried to "rip" a couple of movies. That worked...I think (m4v file format) But I cannot figure out how to get the movie in to iTunes, so that I can put the movies on my iPhone or iPad. I tried dragging the file in to the movie section, and also going to the menu and opening "add file" (or something like that). Nothing happens! When I ripped the movie, I selected "iPhone Ipod touch". I also should mention that when I double click on the file, and try to watch the movie on my computer I am unable to watch it on any program. For example it says that it is a file type that QuickTime does not recognize. I am completely new to this and simply don't know what im doing!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI saw a couple of other threads talking about this and thought we should have a thread where you can show off and share your own custom made Genre thumbnails. In case your not sure how to do it this is a good guide: [URL]. Basically you need to create a jpeg, put it in the right folder (iTunes>Contents>Resources) with the correct name and then adjust a tiny bit of information in the genre plist.
Its very simple and people who have no experience with this kind of stuff will be able to do it easily. Also if (like me) you are annoyed at the fact that some genres are missing you can add your own in the exact same way as in he link posted. Note in mine that Action & Adventure are now two separate genres and i've added Gangster, Kung Fu, Comic & Anime. Mine are all supposed to be the best films of that genre (ok maybe not Transformers ). Pic link now added, download!

What does it mean when it says that you can't play a movie because a public atom was found in the file. I find that i have a number of movies that are victim to this. and i know it's happening during the drag and drop import into iTunes because i have the original file and it plays fine from the desktop in quiktime.
