Sep 17, 2009I have a new MBP that came with Snow Leopard and I use it mostly for internet and iTunes for videos. I've noticed that watching videos through Front Row does not update the last played and play counts in iTunes. They just show as partially watched with half a blue dot.
I'm wondering how many other people have this happening as well.Did your computer come with Snow Leopard? Did you upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard?

Jun 27, 2012Whenever I try to mark videos as unwatched in iTunes, it also resets the play counts for those items. I'd like to mark them as unwatched so that I can see the blue dots on the Apple TV whenever I want to rewatch a series so that I can keep my place, but I also have playlists that depend on the play counts.

Jul 25, 2010 I am trying to figure out how the live updating feature on smart playlists works.
I created a simple smart playlist with one rule "Media Kind is Music". I ticked the box to "limit to 25 items selected by random". I also ticked the box for "live updating". When I clicked OK to save the smart playlist, iTunes selected 25 songs from my music library and put them in the smart playlist. I then synced the smart playlist to my iPhone. The same 25 songs appeared in the smart playlist on my iPhone. So far, so good.
Then I played a number of the songs in the smart playlist on my iPhone. I also played songs from the smart playlist in iTunes on my MacBook Pro. I exited and re-entered iTunes multiple times. I re-synced my iPhone several times as well. And guess what? The smart playlist, both in iTunes and on the iPhone, still contains the same list of 25 songs that were selected when I first created the smart playlist.
Windows On Mac :: ITunes Can't Recognize Live Mail During Sync
Nov 17, 2010I have Windows 7 64-bit on my MacBook Pro. I have Windows Live Mail installed. When I sync iTunes to my iPhone 4, under the Info tab it says "No supported application can be found" for the Calendar and Mail sections even though I have Windows Live Mail and it has a calendar in it.

Jun 23, 2014Have several smart play lists that select songs based on when they were last played, i.e. include songs that have not been played within the last 24 hours. When I sync my iPhone or iPad, all the music and the play lists are copied to the devices. However, the playlists are now empty on the devices (full on my Mac). If Live Updating is unchecked the play lists are full. Playing the a few songs on these lists and then checking Live Updating does not fix the issue. How can I get a smart playlist to use live updating and sync to iPhone or iPad?Â

ITunes :: Create A Live Update Smart Playlist That Shuts Off After A While?
Feb 6, 2012I'm trying to create a smart playlist with the following properties:Â
1) Every time I play it, it selects a different random set of songs.
2) The playlist plays for a fixed duration, then shuts off. (I like to go to sleep to music, but it wakes me up in the middle of the night if it plays for too long.)Â
The best I've been able to come up with is to set "not played in the last xx days", "Limit to yy minutes selected by random", and "live updating". However, there's a problem with this: as soon as one song has played, it's purged from the list, which causes live updating to replace it with a new song. As a result, this creates a list that plays forever, since new songs are continuously added to replace the ones that have been played.Â
I tried turning off live updating, but then I'm stuck with the same songs over and over. I also know about the trick of just using "select random" and deleting the contents of the list, so that live update will repopulate it, but that won't work on an iPod without doing it in iTunes and then re-syncing.Â

ITunes Library Folder On WD MyBook Live External Hard Drive
Mar 16, 2012I have my iTunes Library Folder on my external hard drive which is a WD MyBook Live.I did this to save room on my macbook's hard drive. It is great and I successfully moved the folder over and saved tons of space on my hard drive.The problem I'm having is that each time I turn on my computer and open iTunes for the first time it asks me to manually locate the iTunes Library Folder.I have gone in and reset and updated the physical location of the folder to the external hard drive but it still makes me go and manually find it before it will open.Once I do that it works fantastic.

Dec 10, 2014The red badges on top of the mail icon, as well as the oval dark grey badges next to mailboxes are only very rarely correct. For example, at this moment the "Flagged" mailbox has a badge with the number 4. Clicking on it reveals that there are actually only three mails in that mailbox, and that furthermore none is flagged. So it is doubly wrong. There are similar issues with the "recent" mailbox, and the Dock icon. It is very annoying to see an unread mail badge, and not being able to find any unread mails. I am mainly using IMAP mail; perhaps the problem does not occur with iCloud mail.Â
This problem first appeared in OSX Leopard(!) years ago, and I have seen it on at least six different computers, in all later versions of OSX, during many years. With every new version I am hoping that it is fixed, and with Yosemite once again I am disappointed. How hard can it be to count? Or is there perhaps something I can change to fix this problem once and for all?

When I try to launch the stream (from the Gadgets menu), Quicktime v10.0 (90.3.1) launches, a reflector:nnnnn windows comes up, and then nothing. At one point it asked me to install an update (I think to VLC, but I cannot remember this minute).

These all claim to have the ability of video chat and using the webcam, however, none so far have done so and every time I have tried it has failed or cancelled and can't connect.

The reason I ask is that started setting up Smart Playlists for all of the artists on my computer and they're all set to live update which is consequently slowing down my itunes. Apr 26, 2010i have a 13" mbp with 130 cycles an i use it extensively.its been about 6 months since i bought it and i noticed tht apple will cover my battery in warranty fr one year only if it has less than 300 cycles on it.
my problem is tht i typically use my laptop fr no longer than 4 hours at a time. which means i recharge the battery jus before the battery meter hits red an counts 1 cycle as complete.thts why i got less number of cycles on the battery
cn i continue doing this without any adverse effects to my battery and its life ??
