I have been having problems with windows Live ever since I upgraded to OSX snow leopard.
I can sign in and then after 1 minute it signs itself out and says the connection has been lost.
I have tried re-installing it again and the same problem keeps happening
any suggestions?
I am having problems getting RDC v2 to work using my Windows7 computer name.
I am able to get to the computer through the IP address with no problems.
I would like to use computer name as I am on a DHCP router and the IP changes often.
I tried signing into face time but a message comes saying check your network connection while my safari opens properly.

How it happend: I've been having this gltich, where it says it cannot buy a song, because the connection was lost. So clicked "buy song" on the song, and it said "connection was lost, please try again later" so, I tried clicking buy again, and it said "you already purchased this item", and it started downloading the song, and never charged me!

- Mercury Messenger
- aMSN
- Microsoft Messenger (newest version)
These all claim to have the ability of video chat and using the webcam, however, none so far have done so and every time I have tried it has failed or cancelled and can't connect.
I would like to know if I'm doing something wrong, I have gone through all the preferences and sorted everything that I think is right.
I am thinking about purchasing a X25-M SSD for a 13" MBP once prices drop (hopefully by the end of the year) but also want to run Windows. Multiple sources have stated that it is an amazing drive but that you cannot install/run Windows using Boot Camp. Most of these articles/posts are dated early 2009 however.
I'm curious, did the April firmware release solve this problem or did it only address the fragmentation issue causing massive slow downs? If not, can someone explain to me why it is that Boot Camp is compatible? Is it the expectation that the new Intel SSDs scheduled to be released later this year will resolve this problem if it is not already corrected? Also, for those of you who actually have one of these, did the firmware update completely resolve the fragmentation issue?
I just booted into Windows and saw that there were some Windows Updates available and it asked me to reboot the computer however it failed to boot into Windows. So I restarted and tried to boot into OS X instead, but that didn't work either.
So I put in the OS X install DVD and checked out Disk Utility. Turned out that all my partitions where screwed up. There were 3 partitions listed as Windows_ldm, with incorrect sizes (I had 4 partitions before).
Long story short: I'm now reinstalling OS X and I lost everything I had on the drive, I think. I'll try some restore software once I've gotten OS X installed.
A little pissed right now... How the heck can Windows F up the entire drive?
I've having trouble getting the "webcam" option on "live messenger" on my MAC. There is no option for starting a conversation with a cam and when people request a cam conversation it suggests that i get "window live v7" I've already got this. Do I need a separate webcam instead of the built-in one i have on my laptop?

the problem is the iSight on messenger is zoomed in very close but when i just open the isight in My Computer its normal. anyone knows why??
and it is also not possible adjust the zoom and other configurations for the camera.

I was able to get into hotmail earlier today. Later, when I tried to log in to hotmail later, it wouldn't work. With my main account, it doesn't do anything except just go back to the screen to enter my password. When I try my other account, it gets to a screen that says I don't have a windows live inbox (wtf). It doesn't appear isolated to my computer, as I tried my roommates computer, and his computer just kind did nothing but go to a blank screen when I enter my password.

View 3 Replies View Relateda few days ago I noticed that my Late 2009 Macbook seemed to lose its internet connection every few minutes just for a couple of seconds only to reconnect. I have no idea why this problem suddenly started occurring, I had not not modified any hardware or software. Strangely enough, this happens whether I use Wifi (at work) or Mobile Broadband via USB ( at home) so I don't think it can be blamed on the internet connection. Stranger still, I should probably not be talking of losing my internet connection but of not being able to access the internet: While again being in a few seconds of slump, I checked my Mobile Broadband Manager and it was not disconnected, upstream traffic was occurring! Just the downstream was at zero. I run windows with bootcamp on the same Mac and there the internet works without trouble. I have all the newest updates installed.

They both seem to loose there connection once in a while, most of the time they reconnect on their own after a few moments but sometimes I have to do it myself. I have plugged in an ethernet cable to send this message. The machine that the airport is connected to is a pre intel mac mini. I am sending this from my imac. I am able to see my neighbours networks on airport, but mine has disappeared, and I have three machines that usually link, but they can't see each other. I opened airport utility (don't know what it is for really, but am just desperate) to no avail.

I don't know if this is due to the MobileMe services being turned off, but I can't get logged into iChat. I haven't tried it for a few days before today though. It keeps my status off line and when I click on the symbol to the left of the status, the error is, "iChat lost the connection to the Mac.com account [URL]. A network error occurred."Â
I tried my mac.me account, too - still no go. I am using 10.7.4 (Lion) on a Mid 2010 Mac Pro. Nothing has changed (software or hardware) since I used iChat last other than the Digital Camera Raw Compatibility Update 3.14 back on the 28th. Looking up the error in these forums (and other forums on the Internet), I see a lot for AIM, but they are from months prior and are not applicable. I did try restarting iChat, restarting the computer, and restarting my modem and router (although Internet access was working fine, just not iChat). I checked all the settings in iChat preferences and they look good - Server: api.oscar.aol.com, Port: 443 w/SSL.Â

Have a PC hooked up to a Pioneer plasma here, and it's basically used to loop trailers in my video-store. The PC is running Windows 2003, and I thought iTunes is probably perfect for this as all the trailers I use are the 720p ones from Apple's servers. So I connect to the PC with VNC (no mouse or keyboard attached), start up iTunes, start the playlist with the videos and they start running fullscreen. But whenever I close the VNC connection the video window disappears from the Pioneer and I just get the desktop + iTunes. The videos are still running though, as the sound is playing and iTunes say they're running, but the video is completely gone.

Then if it wants to will find them and trying to connect to my own wireless network (apple extreme) is a challenge. I do have parallel desktop installed, could that be the problem?

I have two identical iMacs hooked up to a router. Both had no internet connection problems until now. One iMac works fine, the other just stopped. I swapped LAN cables and router ports but the iMac that quit connecting still won't connect.

I suddenly am unable to have my .Mac email delivered to the Mail application on my iMac, yet my .Mac emails are delivered to my iPhone without any issues and I can also access them via logging-in to my iCloud account using an internet browser. My Mail account pane is as follows. Note that the Incoming Mail server is dimmed-out and I am unable to enter any text into it.
