Applications :: Delete A Transition In IMovie HD?
Nov 8, 2005I've created an iMovie that's full of transitions, effects, and titles. Now I have a problem that I found a typo in one of the titles, and I want to go back and change it. One problem, it's in a clip that has a transition, and trying to delete the transition crashed iMovie. (A nice generic 'The application iMovieHD quit unexpectedly.') This is with iMovie 5.0.2 on OS X 10.4.3, on two separate computers. (The two in my .sig)
Short description: So, to start from the beginning, I have a 'source' clip. I then added a title to this clip (Music Video style.) Then I used the 'slow' function to slow the clip to 1/3 normal speed. Finally, I transitioned from this clip to the next clip with a 1 second-long dissolve. (The next clip has the same type of title and slow done to it, only with different text.)
Excrutiatingly long description: This clip has no transition leading in (although there is a clip before it,) and the clip following has no transition leading out. (So these two clips could be considered to be a single group that could theoretically be taken separately from the rest of the movie.) Trying to remove a similar transition from similar clips in the movie also fails. (The movie consists of 20 clips from DV, each of the 20 with the same type of title, each with the same 1/3 slowdown, paired up with a dissolve transition between the pairs. The clips are in groups of four, with a black intro text at the beginning of each group, a fade from black into the first clip, followed by two transitioned clips, two more transitioned clips, a third set of transitioned clips, and a clip that fades to black, then a 'postscript' text. Then the cycle starts again, five groups like this in a row.

Jan 24, 2010I've recently started to use iMovies 09 and have found it quite easy. Although on my latest project one transition I'm using (mosaic) doesn't accept the change to the duration. I can change the duration in the inspection box, but then it doesn't accept that change in the actual transition down in project area.
It says 6.0s in the inspection box, but 1.0s on the actual transition.

Dec 16, 2009I'm thinking about starting my own blog, and every now and then post some recorded videos (vlogs)I'm new to Mac (Only 2 Months) and well I got to start using iMovie '09 and I noticed there is only 5 themes.Is there a way I can get themes and import them into iMovie '09?I also own Adobe Master Collection CS4, which has After Effects.I basically would like to add title intros and maybe some sound and photos to the video.

Aug 3, 2009I've had this problem for a while, but never really cared, because I didn't use the Themes. Now, I need to use them and remembered, they don't work. I've tried everything! Nothing fixes it! It goes down to the little clip viewer thing and has an empty red bar, but it doesn't start rendering! I've completely trashed iMovie and all its files and reinstalled it and it still doesn't fix it! I'm running Mac OS 10.4.11, Tiger.

Applications :: Keynote Magic Move Transition In Quicktime?
Feb 6, 2009I'm fairly new to Keynote. OH...MY...GOD! This blows away powerpoint. Wish I would have known that sooner.
Anyway, I was playing around with the trial version of Keynote '09 and the magic move transition is pretty damn cool. At first I was hesitant about buying the full version because I have to use powerpoint at work for all my presentations so I lose all the cool transitions and there are some format issues. However, if you export your Keynote '09 presentation as a Quicktime file, the magic move transition works! The reflection of a picture (which looks amazing) also works in Quicktime. Of course I haven't tried to open it on a PC yet since I don't allow those pieces of crap in my house, but I'll test it at work tomorrow.

May 12, 2010I can't seem to figure out how.
I located all my themes, deleted them, deleted all application preferences for Bowtie, and then deleted Bowtie.
A quick reinstall of Bowtie and upon startup, all my themes are still there.
The whole purpose of this is to get rid of a theme that isn't working (Zokunft Condensed Black), and I know it doesn't matter that much, but I tend to get hung up on things like this.
Any way to just get this theme off my hard drive?

Feb 7, 2010I can't delete keynote themes I installed from Jumpsoft. I can't even find a iwork file in users/library/application support. I even deleted all of iWork from my computer and reinstalled and they were still there in keynote. What should I do?

Applications :: Deleting Themes Downloaded In Chrome
Oct 25, 2009How I could delete themes that I downloaded from google chrome. Everytime I downloaded them, while it downloads it'll show up in my folder but once it finishes it, it automatically applies it and disappears from the folder. I checked chrome://extensions/in and it says no extensions. Does the browser not keep themes installed? When I click "reset default theme" does that mean the theme I installed automatically deletes?

Dec 19, 2009I want to burn a DVD from a video I have on my hard drive. I want it to play on DVD players as well as my iMac. But what I don't want is the smarmy "Themes" iDVD insist there be on the result. IS there a way I can do this without the Themes or will I have to use a different burner? Some videos I have are .avi, DVIX, .wmv, etc. I'm sure that the starting format has nothing to do with my problem, but one never knows. I'm running OSX 10.6.2 and am really happy with it. Although, I haven't see any difference when running it in 64-bit mode. But maybe if I were using more 64-bit software?

Applications :: Changing Slide Background And Themes In Powerpoint Or Keynote
Mar 12, 2010So I have several CME Conference Lectures (slides made in PPT). Unfortunately, I guess these presenters love color, and so all slides are in a blue background with white text or some variation thereof. Personally, I like to have a print out of the slides when I am reading/preparing for my future cases. etc. and so I physically print these slides out. Unfortunately, the unnecessary background color is an unnecessary burden on my printer, and so I was wondering how I can change the the background and text in one shot so I don't have print out the unnecessary color.
I have tried trying to change the background from within powerpoint, but because the text is often in white, this causes the text to "disappear" on a white background. The only way to get the text back is to change the text color on a slide by slide basis. This is fine if the presentations are short, but most of these presentations are 200+ slides.
I was hoping there is some trick either in powerpoint or keynote to be able to change slide themes (such that background and text can change in one shot).

However when I import this project file into iMovie 8 I cannot find the final edited film anywhere, just all the clips that were both used and unused within the project file.
How can I get the final film back without spending about a week re-editing everything?

Jan 16, 2010So i've recently gotten in the uploading to YouTube craze with my Flip Mino HD but i'm not too happy at the way i've been doing this and am hoping there is an easier way.
As of late i've been importing what i film into iMovie. In iMovie i'll edit the video to my liking. In iMovie i'll "export" to the media browser so it'll show up in GarageBand. Then i'll open GarageBand and edit my film further, dealing with sound; adding music. After that i'll export it as a .MOV to my desktop. Then i'll open iMovie again and import that .MOV file and from there in iMovie will have it upload to YouTube in its original HD format.

May 8, 2009So, I have all of my imovie projects backed up on my external harddrive, as well as the imovie program. I accidentally deleted all of the imovie projects and events from the imovie application on my laptop. When I try to re-import the imovie files into imovie, it doesn't recognize the files. I have tried to convert them with iSkySoft Video Converter. That converter program does not recognize the files either. I also tried burning the files onto a disc and then pulling them off the disc with the Handbrake program. This doesn't work either. I also tried importing the files into iMovie HD, which I have on my desktop, but to no avail. Are these files alll useless now? I'm at my wits end because I have spent literally months compiling footage for a documentary.

The thing I hate about iDVD (besides it taking so long to burn video DVDs on Mac) is that the themes are more than I need and take up valuable disc space.
1. Are there any iDVD themes that are simply a menu...no music, no video clip previews, no sappy backgrounds, etc?
2. Is there a free (or cheap) alternative to iDVD excluding Toast?
3. I'd be using .mov or .mp4 as my source video.
4. I have iDVD 7.0.4 and am using Snow Leopard. I really don't want to pay for iLife 11 as I never use Garage Band or iPhoto. iMovie kinda sucks too.
