I saw my friends Mac and she has a colorful dock, different icons and she said it's the theme she used. Where do I get themes for Mac Os X and how do I use them? I installed ShapeShifter but I can't open it? How?

I am trying to install themes from interfacelift and it looks like I have to use shapshifter to do so. I'm having a heck of a time getting this app to install let alone work properly. So what are you folks doing to install themes on your mac. I am currently on Leopard 10.5.8.

I located all my themes, deleted them, deleted all application preferences for Bowtie, and then deleted Bowtie.
A quick reinstall of Bowtie and upon startup, all my themes are still there.
The whole purpose of this is to get rid of a theme that isn't working (Zokunft Condensed Black), and I know it doesn't matter that much, but I tend to get hung up on things like this.
Any way to just get this theme off my hard drive?
I'm thinking about starting my own blog, and every now and then post some recorded videos (vlogs)I'm new to Mac (Only 2 Months) and well I got to start using iMovie '09 and I noticed there is only 5 themes.Is there a way I can get themes and import them into iMovie '09?I also own Adobe Master Collection CS4, which has After Effects.I basically would like to add title intros and maybe some sound and photos to the video.

I would really like to have more variation with the books. Or if there isn't any place to download new ones from, is there a way to make your own? I know there are Keynote themes and iDVD themes, but are there iPhoto book themes? Or are they way too complex compared to iDVD and Keynote?

How I could delete themes that I downloaded from google chrome. Everytime I downloaded them, while it downloads it'll show up in my folder but once it finishes it, it automatically applies it and disappears from the folder. I checked chrome://extensions/in and it says no extensions. Does the browser not keep themes installed? When I click "reset default theme" does that mean the theme I installed automatically deletes?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to burn a DVD from a video I have on my hard drive. I want it to play on DVD players as well as my iMac. But what I don't want is the smarmy "Themes" iDVD insist there be on the result. IS there a way I can do this without the Themes or will I have to use a different burner? Some videos I have are .avi, DVIX, .wmv, etc. I'm sure that the starting format has nothing to do with my problem, but one never knows. I'm running OSX 10.6.2 and am really happy with it. Although, I haven't see any difference when running it in 64-bit mode. But maybe if I were using more 64-bit software?

anyway i am having trouble with iPhoto, when i try to create a book or card or calendar it claims that there are no themes, although i know that the themes are in HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto/Themes. This is confusing, and I NEED to have those themes for a book that i am creating. This is high priority, so basically i HAVE to get these themes back in.
So I have several CME Conference Lectures (slides made in PPT). Unfortunately, I guess these presenters love color, and so all slides are in a blue background with white text or some variation thereof. Personally, I like to have a print out of the slides when I am reading/preparing for my future cases. etc. and so I physically print these slides out. Unfortunately, the unnecessary background color is an unnecessary burden on my printer, and so I was wondering how I can change the the background and text in one shot so I don't have print out the unnecessary color.
I have tried trying to change the background from within powerpoint, but because the text is often in white, this causes the text to "disappear" on a white background. The only way to get the text back is to change the text color on a slide by slide basis. This is fine if the presentations are short, but most of these presentations are 200+ slides.
I was hoping there is some trick either in powerpoint or keynote to be able to change slide themes (such that background and text can change in one shot).
I couldn't find what I was looking for in MRoogle.
The thing I hate about iDVD (besides it taking so long to burn video DVDs on Mac) is that the themes are more than I need and take up valuable disc space.
1. Are there any iDVD themes that are simply a menu...no music, no video clip previews, no sappy backgrounds, etc?
2. Is there a free (or cheap) alternative to iDVD excluding Toast?
3. I'd be using .mov or .mp4 as my source video.
4. I have iDVD 7.0.4 and am using Snow Leopard. I really don't want to pay for iLife 11 as I never use Garage Band or iPhoto. iMovie kinda sucks too.
I been on osx for 2 yrs now, kind of tired of looking at the same screen. Why isn't there no third party theme apps? Does apple restrict this or something?

Nothing fixes it! It goes down to the little clip viewer thing and has an empty red bar, but it doesn't start rendering! I've completely trashed iMovie and all its files and reinstalled it and it still doesn't fix it! I'm running Mac OS 10.4.11, Tiger.
