how do you make the size of the thumbnails larger than 128x128? 128x128 is a bit too small to see my photo's easily. I know that I could use Coverflow but I prefer to use the standard thumbnail view.

I was able to increase the size of the boxes with the zoom feature, but that didn't help with the icons across the top. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a power mac G5 2.7 that is 2.5 years old. It came configured with two 400GB drives inside as it will only hold two. I now really want to change them out to either two 750 GB or preferably two 1TB drives. Apple, however, has told me it won't work and that my unit will not handle this huge additional power consumption. I have called mac mall and they say no way as well. OWC says they have many working like that and its never been a problem. Then I called Apple again and they said it will work fine. I have 6 more months of Apple care, but either way do not want to blow the interior of this system up. I know I need SATA drives and would ideally like to purchase the Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.

So I was in the Apple Store again yesterday and whilst looking around the different versions of the notebooks it suddenly struck me that, with all things considered, the 13" Macbook Pro isn't really a 'Pro'. It doesn't look or feel very Pro-like especially when you consider the lower spec, tiny screen size, and larger bezel. It really strikes home when you see all the 13", 15", and 17" laid out side-by-side on display. I really think by upgrading the 13" name to 'Macbook Pro' Apple are doing a grave injustice to all the customers who could afford and purchased the real Pros'.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to purchase an external monitor (24" @ 1920x1080) for my MacBook Pro (13.3" @ 1280x800) but want the fonts to be larger on the external monitor (eyes aren't what they used to be). The MBP13 has about 113 pixels/inch whereas the monitor has about 92 pixels/inch so I believe the fonts will indeed be larger. Can anyone with a similar setup confirm this or offer any other useful info.

On windows you just right click the desktop > appearance and bang. How can I do it on the mac? View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm prepping to install Vista over XP (my friend says I'm downgrading, which I probably am). As I noted in an earlier post, I need to give more space to my Windows partition. Does this sequence look OK to you guys?
1. Boot from Mac OS X Install DVD. Check "Macintosh HD" and "NO NAME" for errors; fix if needed.
2. Defragment "Macintosh HD" and "NO NAME".
3. Use GParted or iPartition (on LiveCDs) to see how much space is left between the two partitions.
4. Boot in to Mac OS X on "Macintosh HD". Use diskutil to shrink "Macintosh HD".
5. Boot from GParted LiveCD. Use GParted to move and expand "NO NAME", remembering the buffer between partitions as determined in step 3.
6. Boot from Mac OS X Install DVD. Check "Macintosh HD" and "NO NAME" for errors; fix if needed.
7. Install Vista and pray I don't run out of space...

I think I found the issue with my headaches and the 27". Basically the text is very small when browsing.I have been using the CMD +/- to increase the page size and my headaches have been better.

I just noticed this right now. Basically I'm in the process of converting my entire collection to iTunes file structure/format and am reembedding artwork. I've been using google and I can find a file that's approximately 125 kb's (600 x 600) and DRAG the file from the safari window into either the album art box in the left hand corner and/or the get info box and the size of the files will increase significantly.
For instance, I grabbed a 135 kb album artwork for Adele 21 and it jacked up the size of the album by 10 mb's. Alternatively, if I save that file directly to my computer and drag it, as a file, into that same box, the size of the album only increases proportionate to the size of the file so 135 kb's x 16 songs (approximately 2 mb's). Is there a reason fro the difference? Does this have to do with iTunes converting the file to png if dragged from the safari window. I was purposely avoiding higher quality artwork cause the file sizes were increasing so significantly. I was more worried downstream when I dragged these albums to my iPhone. I just want to make sure I'm not missing something. If this is the route that I have to go then that's fine with me. I'll proceed with saving each individual file and going about it that way.
