Mar 15, 2009On a @ occasions I dragged a photo to my desk top and the photo collapsed! I had to do a restart to correct this. Does any one know the cause?

Applications :: Finding Command Of Automator Click-and-drag Cmd
Nov 10, 2009I know Automator can click on files just by recording my own "Watch Me Do"s, but it never recognizes file dragging actions. All it will do is click on the file, then move the cursor after releasing the file. Is there a command I'm missing that will accomplish dragging?

Mar 24, 2012I have not tried all of the things people have said to do on the internet because all of them have said it didn't work. I bought and used the mackeeper but this didn't solve my problem either.
Nothing on my computer will let me click and drag anything. It doesn't work in any application, or the desktop (in Expose I am able to move around those applications, but nothing else). I have had this problem for quite some time now.Â

Oct 28, 2009I did a search and didn't see anybody with the same problem. I have an Oct 2008 (unibody) MBP with 2.8 ghz core 2 duo, 4GB RAM, 320 GB 7200 RPM HDD.So I loaded a YouTube page, paused a video to let it load and suddenly when I tried to click "play" the track pad seemed to not be working. I then realized that it was highlighting all the text and I couldn't click out of it. Likewise, when I apple-q safari, it began selected icons in my desktop. I noticed I could still two-finger-tap to right click and open a context menu, but I can't select anything within that menu.
I can't imagine the notebook suddenly became damaged. I know early macbook pros had a similar problem due to the battery swelling, but I opened the battery compartment and the battery feels very cool. I also read that resetting the SMC and repairing disk permissions might help, but that didn't do anything either.
OS X :: Click/drag Lock Utility Or Workaround Needed?
Nov 24, 2010In my new setup, I'm using a wireless switch interface with SwitchXS to "type." This software has mouse emulation functions, but I find them terribly clunky and slow. My wheelchair itself has a bluetooth module, so that the joystick that I drive with controls the mouse. The problem is that I can click & right-click with this device (by quickly nudging the joystick left or right), but there's no way to drag. Right now I'm making do with a dwelling app (ClickNoMo), but this too is less than ideal.
What I'm looking for is a utility that will do one of the following:Turn on drag (or "click lock") when I hold the "left click" down for a given length of time (say, 1.5 sec)Turn drag on when I triple-click (rather like a touchpad)Allow me to reassign the right-click to drag (the joystick doesn't have drivers to do this; maybe there's a bluetooth equivalent of USB Overdrive?)Some other option I haven't come up with yet...

May 17, 2012It feels like there is less room for the left button to press down and the right button clicks loudly when I press down on it. Everything still woks in terms of clicking but it's so annoying to have to press down harder than I have to.

Mar 11, 2012After downloading a photo, I'm only able to drag it from the Downloads folder and drop it to my Desktop or another location about half the time. Often, I must open Downloads in the Finder to drag and drop. The Finder option always works. Is there a preference setting I need to change so that dragging and dropping from Downloads is always available?

Feb 4, 2010We've had a Macbook now for about 18 months - no problems. However, last night it was very slow in starting-up and then we found it impossible to move any icons around the screen (click+drag). We have just five small folders on the desktop.
Although 'hiding' is 'on', the dock has also disappeared completely and settings for the dock cannot be changed under preferences.
The Macbook won't turn off under 'shut-down', we have to shut-down by holding pressing 'on' button.

Mar 1, 2009This is starting to cheese me off. iMovie '09 is acting pretty strange. It does not let you drag titles into the storyboard, unless they are at the very beginning. Is this some kind of bug.
I have used iMovie '08 for months without issue, but this is my first project in '09, and it won't let my drag a friggen title in!
I also noticed that the red playhead likes to freeze where it is at random times, it stops moving with the mouse. Clicking the mouse-pointer button in that middle toolbar has no effect.

Apr 5, 2009How come every time I drag something on my timeline I have to render? If I expand or move it on the timeline I have to render again. It's really a pain and I was told it shouldn't be doing this.
Also, I imported my video onto Color to do some correction and when I send it back to Final Cut Pro, it's very small. I tried changing the geometry but it's still not as big as the original.

Nov 14, 2009Every time I try to drag and drop a jpeg into an email I am composing it shrinks it. I have also tried adding jpeg's to iphoto and then emailing them through the button on the bottom. iphoto even asks me whether to use the original size, but when the email comes out on the other end it is always considerably smaller. When I add pdf's it keeps it original size. Does anyone have any advice?

And most of the time i realised i need a function like this. for example i am in folder1/folder2 ..and just want to take file from folder2 to folder1... but since there is not any "go one node above" option, i have to open everythng from the beginning... especially if those folders are located in a deep location such as user/lib/appsup/etc.

May 6, 2012I downloaded a beta test recently, now it's finished I have the folder sitting in my Applications folder, but it won't let me drag it out into the trash. I've logged in as an Administrator, changed my regular ID to have Admin status, none of it works. I've got the CCleaner app from the App Store, same issue. It tells me I need to be an Admin to uninstall files, but even when I log in as the Admin, it gives me the same message.

Feb 4, 2009So over the past few months I have noticed this small bug/glitch in iTunes... and it is very annoying.
I cannot drag songs from playlists into different order. iTunes just doesn't let me drag at all.
I have to quit iTunes, then restart it. It will work for one time, but as soon as I got back to "Library" and then try to go back and edit a playlist, I have to exit iTunes.
Any fix for this?

Feb 5, 2009When I have an Iphone or Ipod attached to the computer and showing up in Itunes, I was just wondering how to drag and drop movies or music directly to the media device, without first dragging it into the Itunes media library or into a playlist. I used to be able to do this. Since then, I must have updated Itunes or reinstalled it or something. But now I can't drag and drop anything directly onto the media player. I can't create new playlists directly on the media player either (I have to open them under "Playlists" and then checkmark them to be synched. I'm assuming there must be some sort of simple setting in the options that I've changed.

With a view to simplifying the procedure, can anybody suggest to me a program into which I can drag & drop any file, have it upload in the background, and then allow it to provide me with a user-clickable url rather than an FTP link to the file? I've been using Transmit, which I really enjoy, but I can't seem to find an option to grab a url that's viewable to everybody. Despite me uploading the files to my public_html directory it just copies an ftp:// link, which is of no use to anybody, and I then have to go into my webspace client's file manager system online and grab the user-viewable url. I seem to remember a program like this existing, one that would sit up in your taskbar and be active and waiting for files to be dropped into it for upload at any time but i had no use of it back then.
